2.5 star ratingCheerful and helpful staff, particularly the cleaning staff. No hot water on first morning. Erratic hot water on third morning, risk of being scalded or frozen in the shower. Very uncomfortable bed with twanging springs. The bed (together with other moveable items such as our belongings, the curtains, the plug) was removed from the room on the morning we were leaving BEFORE our check out time without warning. One of the cleaning staff told us that our belongings were downstairs and we had to locate them ourselves. The basin was cracked and the plug didn't work until we asked for it to be repaired. The reception on the TV was very poor - double shadow image of everything. There was a large stain on the carpet just inside the bedroom door. This was considerably below the standard you would expect from a three star hotel.Kirkby couple22 November 2010
3.5 star ratingA good value hotel close to Queensway and Bayswater underground stations with nice rooms, if a little small, and clean private facilities. As good a value for London as we can find in the right place.Steve01 April 2011
4.0 star ratingThe hotel is nicely situated for good access to all parts of London. It is very clean and well presented. The staff at the reception desk are very unwelcoming. They really need people training!Cory18 September 2011

4.5 star ratingThe staff were efficient and pleasant and the room was small but clean and comfortable.I do feel that the Breakfast area is a little cramped, with people walking around carrying hot food and hot drinks.I think it is a little dangerous if people do not take extra care when trying to find a vacant table. 21 December 2012

2.5 star ratingGood presure in the showerOverall very worn down. The bed was very hard and not too comfy. The shower cabinet was leaking so badly that the water went out on to the carpet outside even though we tried to stop it with a towel. This was not a new problem as the carpet was already wet when we got our room. Ps. No bacon for the english breakfast.24 July 2013
2.0 star ratingGood location 5 mins from little waitrose and queensway tube station. The only real positive was that it was clean. The room was ok, not worth the £90 at all, the bed was knackered and collapsed and very uncountable. Pillows are supplied but you are not able to ask for more without feeling very small by patronising staff 'who don't have access' to that area. Breakfast well, be there early or it's a total bun fight including the non English speaking uncooperative staff. Overall I am very disappointed and there was no attempted to rectify these issues upon complaint the morning after. Please avoid. 13 August 2013
4.0 star ratingBathroom clean and looked new. Also looked like a new lift had been instaled in the hotal. Staff very helpfull and polite. Good choose of food for breakfast.Room was in need of re decoration. Holes in the wall and cables from TV hanging down the wall. 10 September 2013

1.5 star rating I was travelling alone, and they put me in a 4 person room in the basement (?). Yes, the BASEMENT. There was a tv on the wall, but it didn´t work. My phone didn´t even work down there! I then had to cross a small corridor with an emergency escape door to get into the toilet / bathroom. The staff were impatient and not very friendly, took some persuasion to get them to show me exactly where the room was after having wandered around the maze-like basement. The breakfast was a very limited choice and the coffee was awful, a cup full of coffee grinds. Overheard 4 different guests complaining about failing air conditioning, to unresponsive front desk staff. Will definately not stay here again.09 September 2013

3.5 star ratingBreakfast was excellent in the choice available and staff were quick to bring in more food when necessary. Location was good too, Rooms clean with staff in every day to replenish the tea/coffee's used, soap/towels replaced if requested.Room/bathroom doors needing attention, due to the age of the building with possibly original doors, they were uneven at the bottom, bathroom lock was broken.10 December 2013
We booked this hotel in good time (months ago) but in the last minute they said that they had "over booked" so we had to change hotel in the last minute. Very stressful and we were dissepointed Agge07 December 2013
4.5 star ratingClose to Hyde Park and Queensway Station. Clean rooms, good breakfast included, good value for money.Room was close to the reception so lots of noise from other guests.17 December 2013

2.0 star ratingThe bed was clean and made up every day, good location.Despite being advertised as having air conditioned rooms, this was not the case when I arrived. On a day where it was 25 degrees, this is not ideal. I explained this on arrival and also highlighted the fact there was no remote control for the TV in my room. The receptionist told me that he couldn't move me to an air conditioned room until the next day. As I was staying for four nights, I packed up the next morning as advised and spoke to the hotel manager whose attitude was appalling. He informed me that he could move me to an air conditioned room - for an extra £20 a night! When I explained that my company was already paying above average for me to stay in this hotel (I understand it will cost more during Wimbledon but this hotel is NOT a £120 a night hotel!), he said 'what do you want me to do about it?'. I was assured a fan would be put in my room that night, which was great, but on the remote control situation - you can only get one if another guest hands one in?! To add insult to injury two of my colleagues checked in later that week, one had the good fortune of being allocated a refurbished room complete with remote control and air con at no extra cost.I would not stay here through choice again.Anonymous 01 July 2014
3.5 star ratingWe loved the location and generally enjoyed the facilities. Our visit was in summer and our room was uncomfortably warm all day. No a/c in room, no refrigerator, minimal furnishing (supposed to be "3 beds"), pretty cramped.David26 July 2014
3.5 star ratingGood value for money at London prices. Staff were very helpful. Sheets and bathroom were nice and clean. Very central for exploring London.Walls in room and dining room were dirty. We ordered a double and got a triple room which meant one side of the double bed was against the wall. Coffee was horrible!Anonymous 18 September 2014
Mimson14 October 2014

1.5 star ratingHotel was dirty, rooms were awful; chipped paint, turned up carpet, wall stains, extremely thin walls.... The staff were not very helpful and in some cases whilst checking in, were rude to other guests. I will not be staying here again!Phil14 March 2017
2.0 star ratingGreat locationTiny room with not enough room to walk around the bed. All walls really scuffed and blackened. Really humid small room with no natural air or light. Breakfast was shameful. Again, a tiny cramped food area serving a couple of hot items that ware not fresh or of good quality. Staff not very professional or welcoming. Would never return. 2.0 star ratingA lot of extra costs (eg 1 Pound to store your luggage After Checking out an wifi is very expensive). Our safe wasn't working and we asked for a second blanket, in both cases we needed to call reception twice and it look a long time until help came. Breakfast is a chaos.Anonymous 06 March 2016
3.0 star ratingGood location, only round the corner from the tube station and you can cross Hyde Park to get to places etc. Was pleasantly surprised with the room considering the price we paid, especially after walking through one corridor to get to our room, this corridor was not pleasant the doors look like they had seen better days, when we got to our corridor it was much cleaner, with landscape pictures on the walls and new doors on the rooms. We had a loose floor tile in the on-suite as the grouting had come out off all the tiles or was not there in the first place. When reported to Reception the receptionist did not really understand what we were saying. The heating did not seem to be on considering it was freezing outside and we came back to find out room really cold after being out all day as the cleaner had left the window wide open. Had to resort to using the heater in the room, which was noisy. The duvet could do with being slightly bigger as only just fits the bed and two pillows would be nice. Not very generous with tea or coffee only two sachets of coffee and not much sugar so would have had to ask for more if required, also was not very good quality. But then due to the low price paid except for the loose floor tile I would say it was was reasonably acceptable.Anonymous 20 January 2016
