Hotel Overview

This beautiful building from 1900 is situated in the heart of elegant Paddington, a few minutes from Hyde Park near Oxford Street and Marble Arch, near Paddington and Lancaster Gate metro stations. There is a plethora of shops, restaurants and bars in the surrounding area and the nearest night club is 2 km away. Madame Tussaud's wax museum is just 1.6km away, and both Stansted and Gatwick airports are easily accessible by train from Paddington.

3.5 star rating	Very convenient to Paddington station ( trains and buses) which was why I chose this hotel. Room was fine for the price and the included breakfast of cereal, yoghurt, toast was ok as well. I did have a problem with water leaking through the ceiling from an upstairs shower and if it had not been able to be fixed they would have moved me to a better room.So the hotel manager handled this well. For central London ,this hotel was good value at about 55 pounds for a single room with bathroom.	Very hard to carry a large suitcase up the staircase as it is quite narrow.No lift of course so not suitable for elderly or disabled. I was staying in the annex part across the road from the main hotel- the main hotel did have a lift so if you need a lift it would be wise to check where your room is.		11 October 2008

1.5 star rating	On the positive side ... the hotel is within easy walking distance to Paddington Station (5-7 mins away), and there are a variety of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Another 15 min walk brings you to Marble Arch and Oxford Street ... so very accessible to the tube.	I was shocked at what they considered a "bathroom" ... more like a closet with a shower. It looked like the "head" on a boat .. not a big one at that.		25 January 2009

3.0 star rating	the first room was smelling paint so we could easily change. well located, next to paddington station.	the room was too small. too hot in the room, even if you let the window opened, no fresh air before 23.00 !!		28 March 2010
2.5 star rating	Das Hotel war Sauber	Das Personal reagiert unprofessionell auf Kritik, ist wenig bemÃ¼ht und das Reinigungspersonal bringt keine neuen HandtÃ¼cher sondern hebt die vom Boden auf - immerhin legen sie diese dann auch zusammen. Die Zimmer sind sehr klein, die WÃ¤nde hellhÃ¶rig. Die Zimmer kÃ¶nnen nur mangelhaft verschlossen werden. Zimmersave wurde keiner gefunden. Die Badezimmer sind viel zu klein und fÃ¼r Leute Ã¼ber 180 oder Leute mit LeibesfÃ¼lle Ã¼berhaupt nicht geeignet. Das FrÃ¼hstÃ¼ck verdient den Namen als solches nicht - es gibt ausschlieÃlich Toast. Das Fruchtyogurt wird auf Tische verteilt, dann wieder abgesammelt und steht so lange dort bis sich jemand erbarmt. Ich wÃ¼rde das Hotel nur bedingt weiterentfehlen.	Mr	08 October 2010

1.0 star rating		I would not reccommend this hotel to anyone as it is by far the worst hotel I have stayed in. Broken shower, no plug in the sink, broken radiator, dirty bed sheets, appalling breakfast - incredibly dissappointing.		19 December 2011
5.0 star rating	Was delighted with the free upgrade to a superior room. The room was very clean and to have a bath rather than just a shower was great.
