3.5 star ratingThe staff serving breakfast was very welcoming and professional. Also the young man at the reception was very helpful, whereas Yasmina (reception) seemed always a bit hassled and slightly annoyed by the customers. Breakfast room a bit small if all rooms occupied.//c~good location near Paddington station and underground//g~Room was clean but blankets weren't.10 August 2008

3.0 star ratingIn a nice locationHad to complain about not having any hot water. Dining area is far too small for the turnover of guests. Full english breakfast was inadequate to usual discriptions of this meal.01 October 2008
1.5 star ratingFar too expensive for such a VERY small room and the only to keep the window open was to put a hanger to stop it closing. It is a great pity that the staff's general level of english is very poor - if not to say inexistant.13 October 2008
2.5 star ratinglocationIt was awful -- the very little room WITHOUT WINDOW and air was right above the subway line on the ground floor with rumbling noise, it moved permanently. We were very tired (only one night) and can't rest and sleep. There was no light/little lamp to read al least. It would be better to sign the real/exact check-in-time somewhere. The breakfast: little jam, margarine and nothing else (one piece of cheese for example). It is right that it is a two-star-hotel but... We can recommend to stay this hotel to nobody and we won't return there!!!30 October 2008
3.5 star ratinggreat position near Paddington Station and quick access to Tube and Heathrow Express12 November 2008
3.5 star ratingVery convenient for Paddinton station and the Heathrow express which was why we booked it. Pretty basic but very good value for a single night before travelling to USA.17 November 2008

4.0 star ratinggood location, good price, good roomservice is too litter30 January 2009
3.5 star ratingIt is one of many small hotels in the area. Probably slightly lesser quality than some. I booked on your website for a standard double. The room was very small and when I asked if that was typical of a standard double, the manager admitted it was a "small double". The room was a long climb to the third floor where a group young travelers were at it all night. I think I was taken advantage of frankly. I won't return to this property.16 May 2009
4.0 star ratingsuperb staff, superb room, superb bed, superb location.less than a minute from the tube and with a multitude of places to eat and drink(open til the wee hours).will definitely use the dolphin next time we go to london again, but will most likely skip the breakfast.the only negative aspect of the place is the 'English' breakfast.a few rounds of barely browned warm bread, boiled eggs and stale tasting cereal does not make an English breakfast where i come from.the dining room is entirely too small and we ended up attempting to eat ours sitting on the stairs with people stepping over us.the only bad thing we found about the dolphin.lazarus01 June 2009
3.0 star ratingGood price-qualitie ratio, great location, very near to undergrownd and nice neighberhood.Clean.Very smal room, bad breakfast. Don`t pay for it. For the same price you can have a great english breakfast just next door to the hotel.03 September 2009
2.5 star ratingIt was a 2 star so I guess we shouldn't expect too much. The location was great, lovely square, close to the tube. The bed covers were stained. The room was tiny. There was a balcony with a small table BUT no chairs. The kettle didn't work unless you jammed something into the base to lift the kettle & make a connection.Fender5201 September 2009
3.5 star ratingWiFi access. Convenient for transpote. Pleasant location.Had to ask for tea/coffee making facilities. Room in Dolphin Inn was very basic.17 November 2009
2.5 star ratingIt was very convenient for public transport. When we arrived in our room we had to leave almost immediately to go and collect theatre tickets, and did not unpack until we returned late that night. Once we had chance to look around the room on our return,we found the standard of cleanliness far below what we expected. The tray with the tea making facilities was filthy, the cups sticky and obviously unwashed, the bedside cabinets also sticky and marked, and the open fronted wardrobe dusty on all the shelves. Indeed the spare pillow which was on the wardrobe shelf had been marked by the dust. After a good breakfast next morning we asked for the manager to come to our room to speak about the standard of cleanliness. When he arrived,he agreed that the dirty tea tray was unacceptable, but disagreed that the room was dirty, despite there being dust on the wardrobe shelves which he claimed we had to expect. He dismissed the dirty bedside cabinet as an irrelevence His arrogant attitude to our complaint almost made us feel guilty that we had drawn it to his attention. He explained that the lack of a plug in the washbasin was because "people leave the taps running which had caused flooding", but it made a wash in the sink impossible. We felt that it was extremely poor value for £80 per night. He said we were welcome to leave and he would arrange for our travel agent to have our money refunded, but since we were strangers to London and had booked via the internet, this was not really an alternative. The manager also offered to give us another room, but we were only there for two nights. He also implied that we had come to London and were just looking for faults. This trip was a birthday present for my partner, paid for by her daughter, and although we enjoyed the shows we saw whilst in London, our stay in the hotel took the edge off the experience. We asked the manager to come to the room as a matter of courtesy, rather than make a public complaint, but did not feel that we received the same courtesy, indeed my partner was left with the feeling that we were in the wrong.I would not recommend this hotel.28 November 2009
4.5 star ratingOn the last night of our stay there was a flood/ water leak in our room. Most of our luggage and clothes were damaged with the water. I am still waiting to be contacted about this situation and waiting for compensation. Please could you get back to me asap or i will have to take this matter further.21 December 2009

2.5 star ratingShower didnt work in the morning. Facilities were only alright No control on the heating in the room at night Disapointing stay even at the pricejs08 February 2010
2.0 star ratingStaff was professional, politeThe bed was hard, possibly mould in the bathroom, quality of food was poor, noisy, room and furnishing were old, bathroom was small and the water pressure was poor.21 February 2010
4.5 star ratingOur stay was very comfortable and the breakfast was good. The hotel was extremely convenient for all transport. The staff were exceptionally friendly and obliging and any request was quickly answered. The beds were comfortable and very clean. Norfolk Square was quiet and lovely. The only negative was the en suite facility which though adequate was rather small and had no plug in the cracked wash basin. 25 June 2010
2.0 star ratingStaff need training in dealing with customer's needs, no shampoo provided in rooms09 October 2010
1.0 star ratingsent you an email which you seem to have ignored. first I had an argument with the reception guy when we booked in as according to his records we were booked for continental breakfast when infact we had booked for full english.. he went off somewhere and then came back and said we were right. he did apologise but when we went to our room we were really disappointed. we did not stay at the hotel. the floor in the room was filthy and the paint was coming off the ceiling and wall in the bathroom. when we spoke to the guy in reception said that was standard. Well it wasn't our. There is no excuse for dirty carpets. all you need to do is get a carpet cleaner!¬!! So NO WE WERE NOT HAPPY! I have requested money back...... waiting to here from you!13 October 2010

2.5 star ratingGood location in the city. Paddington is ideal for heading all over the city or country. Lots of restaurants and services close by.Rooms are dated and small. It is the bare minimum of what you need. A bed, pillow, blanket. Tiny bathroom. It would be fine for a few days, but we stayed 6 and it was too much not to have any real comforts or space.13 June 2012

4.0 star ratingHelpful and polite staff at checkin. Rooms small but clean, bed comfy. Value OK for London20 September 2013
2.5 star ratingAlthough the hotel was reasonable value for money as in Central London, we weren't very happy with the food or the facilities - we paid for continental breakfast and I don't think I have ever had a poorer breakfast in a hotel. It was difficult to find anything edible - only toast, cereal and cheap swiss rolls. The facilities in the room and at the hotel weren't great either - no tea / coffee making facilities, no bar, nothing really. This hotel is reasonable if you intend to spend very little time in it and only using it as a base but would be very depressing otherwise!Anonymous 18 April 2014
