4.5 star ratingFriendly and welcoming and with a surprising number of helpful foreign staff, who seemed to work well with each other. For price and location it was fine even for returning ex-pats!Change the sausages for breakfast. 11 December 2008

4.0 star ratingA few minutes from the heart of London, yet in a quiet and beautiful neighbourhood. Clean sheets, nice staff. The price-quality ratio is unmatched!Towels smelled like they had been in a humid closet for too long. Good thing I brought mine.16 January 2009
3.5 star ratingA nice English Breakfast, kind staff, very good location to the Paddington Station. Our room had a terrible smell of cigarretes and I am alergic to that smell. The first night I was really unsatisfied and I couldn't sleep well. Plus, the heater was not good and far from the bed. The next day we changed our room to a small one and without that awful smell. But the heater also didn't work well.25 January 2009
4.0 star ratingWe were only in London for two nights and the room was ideal for our stay. The room was very basic but it had a bed, bathroom and television so nothing else was needed. The staff were friendly.Breakfast was served 7.30am - 9.00am, we didn't manage to get up in time for breakfast and thought the cut off point of 9.00am was very early compared to other hotels in London especially at a weekend. When we entered the room it smelt of cigarette smoke but we left the window open whilst we were out so it wasn't too bad when we returned.Mitre Hotel23 February 2009
4.5 star ratingThe 24 hour check-in and reception was the best asset of the hotel. Its location is suitable for travellers, especially those who rely on the tube to get around the city. Staff was very friendly and helpful when needed. Room was suitable for an individual, though with a nice view overlooking the area. Breakfast was also splendid, a nice assortment of English breakfast. What attracted me the most to this particular location was the free Wi-Fi services in every room, a necessity for me as I had plently of work to do on my trip. The wireless was not working in my room (and apparently others), and I continiously had to go to the lobby to work, as did other guests, sometimes several times a day. In addition, although I understand safety concerns, I was annoyed that I had to keep buzzing to get into the hotel, even in the middle of the day. Jai25 February 2009
5.0 star ratingTruly an amazing hotel situated in the Sussex Gardens, just a 3 minute walk from Hyde Park. Staff is friendly, full English breakfast is delicious, free wireless internet is available and also, whenever you need a coffee or a tea in this cold weather you can always have one in the reception - free of charge.Perfect hotel in a perfect area11 February 2009
4.5 star ratingExcellent breakfast. Close to Paddington underground so easy to get about. We travelled from Stansted Airport to Liverpool Street Station then took the tube to Paddington. Plenty of restaurants and cafe's within walking distance. The Hotel was very clean and the staff polite. Would definately go again.28 February 2009

4.0 star ratingThe hotel is conveniently located in a very nice area of the city. The room was small but very clean. The staff was very polite and helpful. As a vegetarian I do not what they serve for breakfast. It would be much better if they served a Continental instead of English breakfast to acomodate all their visitors.26 March 2009

3.0 star ratingGood location near two tube stops and Hyde Park. Clean but worn. A very basic tourist class hotel. The shower got water all over the bathroom floor. Not much shelf space in the bathroom for personal items and not many towel racks or hooks to hang up towels in the bathroom.25 May 2009

4.0 star ratingReception staff were friendly & efficient. Hotel was clean. Breakfast was ok with reasonable orange juice & option of scrambled eggs, they had run out of sausage but gave us an extra piece of bacon. Hotel was very convenient for the tube & only minutes from Hyde Park Bedroom was very small but fine for a one or two night stay27 October 2009
2.0 star ratingThe hotel was open. One member of staff in particular was rude throught our stay. Everything was a problem for him, even saying good morning. Television did not work. Heating was on a timer, so cold in the rooms throughout the day. Old hotel, so can hear all movements between floors. Reception lost our room key after we handed it in on going out for the day, subsequently blaming us on our return, not believing that we had actually handed it in. They later found it, and without an apology, the grumpy mute, as mentioned above, grunted at us with distain when we asked for it.Toro Negro31 October 2009
