3.0 star ratingWe were woken at 8am by building work taking place somewhere in the hotel. We phoned reception to ask them to stop and were told that this would happen immediately and the work shouldn't have commenced till 9am. The work did NOT stop. When we mentioned it at check-out in reception I was given a blank piece of paper to note a complaint on and was told that someone would "look into it". I don't hold out any hope of an apology or any form of compensation since the reception staff were very dismissive!15 September 2008

4.5 star ratingIt is in a very central location. Within easy reach of 3 mainline stations and very close to the underground network and buses. We had a room overlooking Russell Square which was great. Yes, there was some traffic noise, but that is only to be expected in the heart of the Capital. All the staff were very helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The breakfast buffet was pretty good too. Will definitely book again when visiting London. If I have one tiny criticism - I would have liked a greater choice of fresh fruit at breakfast.21 July 2010

4.5 star ratingBeautiful entrance and reception, helpful and friendly staff. All areas of the hotel were clean and tidy. The restruant via the Sportsmans bar, while the room it self was cold, the staff were welcoming and friendly. The 2 evenings we dined there the starter and main coarse were excellent, but the desserts left a lot to be desired. Not pleased with having to share the dining / breakfast vacilities with the President when the tarrifs for the President are less than the Imperials, although the staff coped very well with the number of people. Also the breakfast buffet selections were just warm even, when attending the breakfast room at opening time i.e. at 7.00 am. happy traveller16 November 2010
5.0 star ratingI have stayed here many times, each time, I have always thouroughly enjoyed my stay. Some waiters in the Breakfast restaurant need their training updated. It is not good manners/service to stretch right across the front of a diner to collect used plates. Neither is it hygienic for the waiter to hold cutlery by the part which is used to cut and eat your food when laying tables. These poor habits are common in this restaurant. I hope this message will reach the hotel as a constructive criticism and for action.25 November 2010
4.5 star ratingCentral within easy reach of shops theatres sights. Close to tube and bus routes. Room was clean and breakfast was satisfactory. Good value for a hotel in this area.Windows aren't doubleglazed so traffic can be heard if you have a room on the front.Val06 January 2011

Staff in breakfast restaurant very polite and alert.Porters rather indifferent. Would have liked yoghurt for breakfast. Bacon and toast very hard to cut, like rubber.BB02 May 2011
4.0 star ratingGood value. Room is small, but clear. Bathroom was efficient and clean. Minimal furniture, but adequate. For the convenient location, I proabably go back at next trip.Staff at reception desk can be more polite and professional. 5.0 star ratingIt was very good value for money. With its very central location, the Imperial was a delight to stay in and I look forward to a return visit soon. I stayed in a single room which was well sized and very clean. Breakfast was very good and, even with so many guests, was well organised by a very professional, helpful and pleasant staff.Ulsterman30 July 2011

2.0 star ratingThe locationThe night recepcionists are far away from being helpul. The key system is a joke, are we in teh XXI century? i felt like if I were my grandfather. To stay in this hotel was if I was visiting an old house, wich hasn´t been renovated for 30 years, specially the bathrooms¡¡¡05 August 2011
2.5 star ratingthe room was cold. you cannot pay mre than 100 $ and ask for a blanket becuase is freezing. there was a bad small of carpet because the hotel is old.09 September 2011
4.0 star ratingThe hotel is in an excellent location, easy to walk to most central attractions and close to the tube. Rooms were basic but of a good standard and very clean, clean sheets and towels every day. Excellent choice at breakfast. on the main road so tendency to be noisy and the ventilation fans to the rear of the building noisy too. Take your ear plugs.09 September 2011

5.0 star ratingWe have stayed at the President Hotel a couple of times but we thought the Imperial was better. The only negative we have is there was not a separate knife on the table in the morning to butter your toast with otherwise we couldn't fault the breakfast..Woodsy04 October 2011
4.0 star ratingHaving been to the hotel before, we knew what to find -- good, clean room, and efficient friendly service. We were struck again by the relaxed atmosphere in the hotel, which is big and usually very busy. The content of items at the Breakfast stations varied. Toast somewhat rubbery.Figgy19 September 2011

4.5 star ratingThis hotel is in a great area; all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and adequate with a large bright window, which opened to let some air in. Tea and coffee making facilities, a trouser press and tv were included. The attached pub is a real happening place with a fantastic outside terrace, which is a real sun trap. Breakfast was good and the staff were attentive. Our room had a toilet in a room but with no sink to wash our hands. The bath and sink were in a separate room. Although the room appeared clean there was an empty cigarette packet under the radiatore and the windows were dirty. Overall definitely good value and we would use this hotel again.Mandy17 October 2011

5.0 star ratingOverall the room and hotel was excellent. All staff were polite, professional and very helpful (reception, porters, bar A little shabby in places, particularly high traffic areas like corridors. The shower in my bathroom (room 857) wobbled and looked as if it was about to come away from the wall. Ash trays outside the hotel entrance and also placed around the courtyard would help prevent unsightly cigarette ends from building up, perhaps even a smokers hut away from the hotel entrance would present a cleaner and considerate appearance. Better advertising of car parking facilities would be good, I would have used it had I have known.21 November 2011
4.5 star ratingCentral position and suited us perfectly. 21 November 2011
5.0 star ratingWe have used this hotel before and had no hesitation of booking it again. The staff always go out of their to be helpful. We particularly like the little bar incorporated in the hotel.Rooms are always clean and tidy.Fizzypop12 November 2011

4.5 star ratingLayout-separate WC to bathroom . Spacious, Comfy beds. great outlook over Russel Square without being too noisy. Secure. Helpful reception. Lovely breakfast with good choice and no bustle. Pleasant friendly and attentive waiters. Being able to leave luggage in store very very handy. Concerned about comments of room being tired and dated but found Ok / functional. Bar food looked good.Nothing negative about our stay. Perhaps highlight radiator control valve. Only found late on. Would stay again.Captain H18 November 2011

4.5 star ratingGood value for money excellent location staff couldnt be more helpful and friendly - thought my room was a bit cold.....there was a heater in it but it never seemed to be on ie the heater was never hot....really only when I came out of the bath would I say it was chilly Other parts of the hotel were warm and cosy. Toast in the morning was soggy - but the dining room staff were very helpful...when I asked if I could have two slices freshly made by the kitchen they said "Of Course!" and remembered the same the next morning. Irish 'concierge' went to a great deal of trouble to find an address and phone number for me..despite the fact that I had the wrong name! well slightly wrong..SDuffy02 February 2012
4.5 star ratingRoom nice and big for London.Great location less the ten mins walk from Euston.Large reception area decent breakfast and a good bar area. Will stay hers again next time we come to LondonToilet is seperate from bathroom but does not have a wash basin. Rooms on front very noisy at busy times could do with double glazing.Wigan boy03 March 2012
2.0 star ratingThe location is excellent and it is cheap in terms of cost compared to most London hotels. The hotel's decor and feel is tired and the staff were fairly dour and sharp in tone. The breakfast to be honest was inedible and the room was very basic.NickAMc03 April 2012

4.5 star ratingI slept well since it eas very quiet, did not expect to find such quiet accomodation in London. The staff was very helpful on polite, and the service in the breakfast hall was excellent. Rom was clean, tidy and comfortable. The bed was not too hard, which was very nice. Fairly close to Russel Square Subway was also a pluss. The key I was given, unlocked another room on my corridor, that I tried to open by mistake, something I found a bit disturbing.07 October 2012
3.5 star ratingconvenient , safeNot very clean 14 November 2012
4.5 star ratingA good located hotel in the center of London. The breakfast was a disappointment: for a vegetarian, there were no options more than milk and cereals. No vegetables and no cheese for the bread and no black bread. For an ovovegetarian and somone with gluteinintolerance there was nothing to eat at all. For this reason I am not interested to come back, I´ll find a cheaper hotel and eat my breakfast out.04 March 2013
4.5 star ratingVery warm welcome. Room overlooking Russell Square lovely and bright and warm on a very cold day. Very cleanPoor breakfast . Hardly any fruit. No yoghurt, very little for vegetarians. (I'm not one). Cooked breakfast not very hot.Wife's16 March 2013
3.0 star ratingLocationDated decor and service. Can not remember when I had to carry my room key in coat pocket around town with a large spoke attached to it! Have seen bad soap, gel in bathroom but nothing this bad. Avoid juice in breakfast: chemical syrup and no fresh fruit available!SG20 April 2013

4.0 star ratingQuick booking in and pleasant staff. Breakfast really good, plenty of choice. Could not fault the service or the amenities of the hotel. The room although clean was in disrepair, with cracks in the ceiling. The hotel seemed old and could do with renovation.B24 July 2013
4.5 star ratingGood location, clean, warm, friendly staff. No problem arriving early, room ready. everything available as describedCan't think of anything, surely a good result!Connie16 September 2013
4.0 star ratingGreat location close to Russell Square Picadilly Line 'tube' station. The station itself would benefit from escalators not just two slow lifts but the hotel can't be responsible for this!On arrival we were offered the choice of rooms: facing Russell Square with a view westwards over London ( including the Stalinist style Senate House of the University of London) or an inward facing 'courtyard' room. Choose the latter , the 'view' rooms are very noisy! Free wi-fi worked well in the Lobby but nowhere else10 September 2013
3.5 star ratingWell situated, clean and friendly. It was fairly quiet tucked away as it is around a courtyard, not sure i would want to be on the front of the hotel though as it faces a very busy main road!A bit shabby in places, not sure when it was last decorated or when the windows were last cleaned? However you do not go to London to sit in a hotel room? I though the price was a bit steep considering the state of the place.I would use the hotel again though.25 September 2013

3.0 star ratingImpressive entrance: courtyard with fountain. Grand foyer. Pleasant room. Not comfortable for any more than one night. Breakfast (food) was satisfactory. Easy access to the West End: huge advantage.Check in staff seemed stressed. Same member of check in staff had no recollection of my previous stay on 11 October. Breakfast service poor. Had to go up to coffee station to be noticed. Only then was I served. Member of waiting staff complained that I should not have been sitting where I was seated!! Unbelievable comment.30 October 2013
4.5 star ratingThe Imperial hotel was perfect for our short stay in London. Centrally located it is reasonably close to theatres, museums and art gallleries. Our room was bright with a good view of the park, and clean. The hotel could do with a supply of new towels. The ones provided were close to being threadbare.Anonymous 21 June 2014

3.5 star ratingThe hotel was very clean, the food was lovely perfect for a few days in london, child friendly alsoI shared a twin room with my daughter after seeing a show, we were put in a room facing the main road which is a very very busy road, we were 3rd floor up the noise was horrendous all night, the hotel rooms have no double glazing on the front, you could hear cars, taxis, vans, people, emergency services, had to keep the windows all shut on a already hot night,I did go down and ask to change rooms but was told quite unsympathetically nothing can be done as its all full. This is the only thing what let the hotel down, when booking ask not to face the road, then you will love this hotel.Anonymous 18 July 2014

4.0 star ratingOnce again had a pleasant stay at the Imperial. Our room faced Russell Square and was relatively quiet. The room was reasonably large and very clean. Staff went out of their way to help us out on numerous occasions. The location of the hotel is exceptional, being minutes from the British Museum and the Russel Square tube station. It is also easy walking distance to the theatre precinct and there are many local restaurants. The full English breakfast, included in the tariff, will keep you going all day!Perhaps a little dated but it has improved over the years and we recommend it to friends and business colleagues. Good to be able to check into room at 11.30am, as needed to be across London for rest of day and did not want to lug luggage around. Scampi and chips good value in the all day and night bar.Breakfast was poor. Scrambled egg was rubbery fried eggs hard and rubbery!! Fruit choice poor, no yogurt only milk. Staff in tearoom not friendly - felt that asking for tea was an imposition!Peter W07 October 2015

Great concert ticket booking at reception.Mattresses were very basic and not comfortable - glad it was only a 2 night stay as the 2nd morning my back ached. I had to use the spare duvet from the other bed to sleep on to make it more comfortable. The towels also were small bath sheets and not very soft.Anonymous 09 November 2015
