3.5 star ratingGood location and good value for money in central London. Clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Only 20 Minutes walk from St Pancras International station and many attractions.Do not expect the Hotel to be part of a holiday except for somewhere to sleep and use as a base. Get a room at the back if possible, they are a bit quieter13 September 2008
5.0 star ratingwe had booked a twin room as there was no doubles left. When we arrived we asked about changing and there was no problem to do so as there was now availablity. very clean and a great full english.27 September 2008
5.0 star ratingexcelent service, clean room, as regards luggage, thought being charged 10p to hold l small case for a couple of hours after paying £400 for 4 nights a bit mean. breakfast excelent value for money.found an elderley male breakfast waiter rather loud and quite bossy and lacking in good manners.* Yoghurt would have been nice, hot toast rather than cold & soggy. Fried eggs could have been a little softer apart from that very good value, clean apart from thick dirt on skirting boards in dining room by the tea/coffee serving area 08 October 2008
5.0 star ratingSpacious, clean and the dining room felt roomy! I hate tables being too close together. 10 October 2008

4.0 star ratingVery friendly restaurant and cleaning staff. Nice and clean, newly renovated bathroom. Comfortable and well-planned single room. Also nice with the garden. The location is wonderful. When I came to check in five receptionists were behind the counter but it took almost five minutes before anyone greeted me hello! In general, the reception staff was a lot less friendly than the rest of the staff.04 December 2008
5.0 star ratingEverything was perfect. The room, the service and the location!14 December 2008
4.5 star ratingVery friendly helpful staff.Room quite cold due to drafts and radiators did not seem to be efficient. This could have been reolved by 'bleeding' radiators?05 January 2009

3.5 star ratingVery good breakfasts and nice relaxed atmosphere.Room was very small. We especially did not like the idea of the toilet being positioned in a separate room from the wash basin and bathroom. We felt that this was extremely unheigenic.09 April 2009
2.0 star ratingI enjoyed my stay in The Bedford. The hotel is well run, the staff are very friendly, the breakfast was very good value. The location too is excellent. The room was clean and well maintained - and quiet! The only slight negative was that I could not leave the windows open because they would break in the wind - no locks.Sorry - I don't speak Dutch!16 April 2009
4.5 star ratingVery good value for money05 May 2009
5.0 star ratingThe single was a very nice size, unlike many single rooms in London hotels which tend to look like cupboard. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Excellent value for money.Titiana05 May 2009
5.0 star ratingI was delighted with the hotel , its service & position as a venue for seeing London. I would definately come again30 May 2009
4.5 star ratingGood position , not far from tube station, probably best to request a rear facing room as the front rooms can be noisy due to traffic noise, wailing sirens etc ! Enjoyed the full English breakfast, room was good, unusually for a hotel bedroom the toilet was seperate from the bathroom, all things considered , good value for the price , would stay again .Had an extensive power cut that lasted from early evening until 3.15 am , as we were on the 6th floor this meant a long climb up the stairs ! Surprisingly there was no apology or mention of this when we checked out, I know it wasn't the Hotels fault but ....front facing rooms would benefit from having air conditioning, particularly in the Summer, which would mean that you wouldn't need to open the window and suffer the noise of the traffic. 4.0 star ratingOne of the cheapest budget hotels I have stayed in. It was convieniently located for my purposes. It also had an affordable car park.Lacks air conditioning and is starting to look a little dated, but I was only sleeping there not living thereSteve05 July 2009

3.5 star ratingClean comforatble rooms. Breakfast good. Reception staff hepfulMinor things only - towels are a bit thin and only 3 between 2 people (2 bath, 1 hand). Pillows a bit flat J & D20 October 2009
5.0 star ratingA good sized room, warm, clean, and above all, quiet at night. The service in the restaurant was very good, food could have been a little hotter and the evening menu was a little boring - a soup spoon for my soup, instead of a dessert spoon would have been nice, but that is a very minor niggle. The hotel's location is superb, easy walking distance to two tube stations. I would happily stay there again.02 November 2009
4.5 star ratingApart from being drafty and the trouser press not working the room was satifactory. 30 November 2009
2.5 star ratingFriendly staff, quick service at breakfast. Tea and Coffee facilities in the bedroom is very welcome but there should be more than 2 teabags/coffee bags and just 4 files of milk. The foreign staff don't always understand simple requests, getting a cup of coffee at breakfast meant getting up and chasing the girl who couldn't spot newcomers to the dining room. The plug hole in room 620 was full of body hair and was a disgusting basin to have to use. A complete reclean of all rooms is in order guessing that the basins in all bathrooms are the same. This is definitely a hygeine hazzard!. I was travelling with my HUSBAND not partner. That category should be included. 06 December 2009

3.5 star ratingThe staff was friendly and helpful. We had a basic but nice size room with good beds. Good value for money.Street noise is unpleasant. In summer one wants to sleep with the windows open but helas. The ticket that we booked online while staying at the hotel needed to be printed but the hotel did not have the fascility to print it for us. There's an internet pc in the lobby though.27 June 2010
4.5 star ratingA pleasant experience with helpful staff, nice room, good breakfast, good spacious communal areas such as the lounge, bar, dining room and especially the garden which was a lovely, calm place. Very good location and good value for money. Would stay there again.Rooms lack air conditioning which meant it was necessary to leave the windows open overnight and the street traffic was extremely noisy. It was a choice between sleeplessness due to heat or sleeplessness due to noise! Slightly odd arrangement with the washbasin being in the toilet rather than in the bathroom - would have preferred it the other around.26 July 2010
2.5 star ratingLocationRooms small, not renovated. I was given a room that was dirty and needed to change it. Quality of breakfast very poor25 August 2010
5.0 star ratingPositive attitude from reception onwards. Hotel came across as clean and well cared for, with none of the common signs of being rundown or uncared for, as can often be the case with city centre hotels (particularly in London). Will definitely use againBathroom very small, but was clean and functional. My room was at the front of the hotel, with a busy road outside. I always sleep well, so it was not a problem for me, but it may be a little noisy for light sleepers17 September 2010

4.5 star ratingStaff were friendly and efficient. Good central location for London. Room was clean.Don't book a room at the front of the hotel as on a main road and traffic is flowing all hours so was quite noisy. Those who stayed at the back of the hotel had agood nights sleep. The choice of fruit at breakfast was very limiting but the rest of the breakfast was fine.Rose Quartz03 October 2010
4.0 star ratingThe Bedford is just such good value for money .It is small, friendly and centrally located.Ideal for business , theatre or shopping trips 29 November 2010
4.0 star ratingExtremely clean and tidy, staff very welcoming, very convenient position especially for theater, breakfast hot and plentiful, will definately be staying again:-) Bedrooms slightly dated but that's the only negative. 29 November 2010

4.0 star ratingGood value, clean and quiet hotel. The sausages servedat breakfast were pretty cheap and pink looking, rest of the breakfast was good. There was also a slight smell of cooking (greasy chips) in my room (located at the back of the hotel) which I think was coming from the kitchen extractor fans below. It wasn't over powering but certainly noticeable.bellymonster05 December 2010
4.5 star ratingvery good venue for geting around london,we could walk to most places06 December 2010
4.0 star ratingThe Bedford is a nice hotel in very nice location (near Russel Square/British Museum). There has been a recent and nice refurbishment of the public areas/reception/restaurant as well as the rooms and bathrooms. Comfy beds and great english breakfast buffet.Windows are a little old so can be noisy if you get a room on the front (request a roon at the back overlooking the nice quiet garden!). The rooms have quite thin walls/doors so you can often hear events in neighbouring rooms to some extent but not a major problem really.27 January 2011
3.0 star ratingCentral position.Needs renovating - old steel sash windows are draughty. Bathroom was tiny almost to the point of being claustrophobic.05 February 2011

5.0 star ratingI booked this hotel and was a bit dubious about it being 3 star and the pictures didn't look great, usually I would book one of the 4 star top secret hotels on lastminute.com. However I was pleasantly surprised. The pictures online do not do the hotel justice. From the outside it does look tired and my first thought was it was going to be awful. Once inside though the hotel is lovely. I requested a high floor room overlooking the courtyard at the rear of the hotel, as I had read reviews about rooms at the front being noisy, and also that the top floor rooms had been refurbished. The room was very nice, much nicer than the 4 star holiday inn that I previously stayed in. It had a flat screen TV and the decor was very modern. It contained a free standing wardrobe with iron and ironing board! Bathroom was very clean and shower powerful. The breakfast the next morning was more than adequate, buffet style full English, danish pastries, cereals and fruit. Constant offers to re-fil your coffee. Gtreat service. Hotel has a lovely courtyard with water features and bar. Location wise this hotel is fab, just around the corner from Russell Square tube station and only 10 minute walk to Covent Garden and Oxford Street. We were able to leave our bags at hotel on checkout for 50p per bag for the whole day, bargain! I will definately be staying at this hotel again when visiting London03 July 2011
4.5 star ratingLocation so handy for tube to get around London and the tourist sites. Staff efficient but very friendly. I requested a quiet room and we were allocated a room on the back. Breakfast was really good. A lovely peaceful enjoyable stay will definitely stay at the Bedford again. Shortage of tea coffee in room seemed to be rationed, furniture a little tired but they are obviously doing some refurbishments.Happy mum04 July 2011
4.5 star ratingThe staff were efficient and friendly. They were most helpfull at all times. The room was spotless clean, although the furniture was due to be renewed. The bedding was changed daily. The garden area was like a little oasis and belied it's position in such a busy location. There was only basic choice of breakfast, but it was adequate. One of the wardrobes smelt slightly musty.Brooklyn 217 July 2011
4.5 star rating stayed at this hotel with a group of friends, this was the second year we have stayed here. although we arrived early our rooms were ready for us, they were very clean with tea and coffee making facilities. breakfast was lovely and plenty of it.Only two negative points, rooms at back of hotel very noisy as we had to have windows open as there was no air conditioning which is second negative.RUTH75712 July 2011
3.0 star ratingHousekeeping staff was polite, and when they realised I was in the room, they said they'd come back later. Front deak staff was also very friendly and polite. The waitress at breakfast was rude and rushed me out of the breakfast room, since they wanted to take my plates to the kitchen and go home. They were already starting to pack up the food before 10:30. If breakfast ends at 10:30 and you can't sit for a few more minutes to finish eating, then it's not a very pleasant start to the day. If you're actually going to close the breakfast room promptly at 10:30, have the front desk staff tell me that at check in.05 August 2011

3.5 star ratingThe individual room I had was comfortable, clean and I think newly renovated. It was perfect for what I needed. It is a great location for central London, with the british musuem and the west end right at the door step. Breakfast was also good, not amazing but definately enough to fill a gap. From the outside this hotel does not look very appealing, however the inside certainly is a different story. Very clean and modern inside and dirty and old looking on the outside. I know it is hard to change the facade of a building but maybe if they could look at doing something with the outside it would be even more appealing. 09 August 2011
4.5 star ratingExcellant value for money very clean and comfortable. Breakfast area very pleasent.Rooms could do with a bit of modernising, espeicially the windows and the landing areas.29 September 2011

5.0 star ratingthis hotel was really well placed in London for all the shows, covent garden and oxford st without being smack bang in the middle. very hand to St Pancress station with direct train to Luton airport. hotel says being refurbished i must have has one of those rooms lovely, clean and crisp white sheets. bathroom and toilet spotless too. excellent hotel i will be returning in the future and wouldnt even bother to look elsewhereonly one thing - there is no extractor fans in either the toilet or the bathroom.ellen25 November 2011
4.5 star ratingClean and decent sized single room with a good bathroom. Good facilities and great location - an easy and really pleasant walk to the sights of London.Nonedakitren3318 November 2011
4.5 star ratingThe Bedford Hotel offered excellent value, services and facilities for our stay. All of the staff were very polite, friendly and most helpful in all ways. The room was clean with comfortable clean beds, and ample tea/coffee facilities. The breakfast food was of a good variety, tasty, well presented and hot !!. The bar was reasonably priced and the bar staff were pleasant to talk with. The Bedford is ideally situated for the majority of the theatres, also well placed for public transport and general sightseeing. We found the Bedford Hotel to represent very good value for money. This is a genuine review and has not been influenced by the Imperial Hotel Chain or any hotel agency. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Bedford Hotel to family, friends and colleagues We could find no fault with this hotel as advertised.IDIFER14 December 2011
5.0 star ratingWe was surprised with the hotel, as we come to London a few times a year, our Budget not being as high as we would like, we found this hotel really great for money value, compared to one we stayed in last year, this is in the top range, We would stay here again, only thing I can say is. I love a yogurt in a morning, there did not seem to be any at Breakfast. Apart from that the room was clean, the bed where very comfy, shower was great, I liked the finishing touch,s. with a ironing board and hairdryer, enough shower gel to last us, Can not say nothing else, only the staff fall over backwards to help us out, what more can a person want on a short break in London, lets hope the price is as good for us next year. A big thank you to you all at Bedford Hotel, also a garden is a bonus, nice to be abel to sit out side on a lovely sunny day, I find that there is never no where to sit outside in London at Hotels, THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF AT BEDFORD LONDON from Elaine No Negative views, elaine15 May 2012
3.5 star ratingStaff extremely polite, and very helpful, as I left my handbag in the breakfast room, they handed it in to reception, so honest. The room was extremely hot, windows had to be closed because of the main road, even with windows closed traffic could be heard quite clearly. I asked for a 'garden' room, as I have stayed before at the Bedford, these are at the back of the hotel and are a lot calmer. Could do with air conditioning.09 July 2012
3.5 star ratingWe thought it was in a convenient area. The room on the back in which we were moved to for our final night was lovely. It was hot in the room on the front with no air con. The road outside the front of the hotel is very noisy with sirens going all night. so opening a window was not an option. Therefore, it was impossible to sleep.11 July 2012
5.0 star ratingAgood clean comfortable hotel, reasonably priced for London, near to theatre land and not to far form the main shops and Kings Cross/St. Pancras and Euston stations. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast included in the price is a bonus.Dolly Daydreams02 October 2012
5.0 star ratingAfter we came to the Bedford for the first time five years ago we have always tried to get a room at this hotel. The food is good, the rooms are always clean and the staff are kind and helpful. The Bedford is centrally situated within walking distance to the British Museum, Oxford Street and Covent Garden to mention some of the tourist attractions in London. Close to the hotel you will also find Holborn and Russell Square tube stations. Perfect for my wife and me! Cannot think of any!Erik29 October 2012

2.0 star ratingI found the staff generally helpful and friendly: the room was modern, clean and very pleasant overlooking the garden. The Bedford is an excellent central place to stay in LondonI had an evening meal in the restaurant. The vegetarian dish was almost inedible. Service at breakfast is erratic.28 June 2013
4.5 star ratingMy room was spotlessly clean and quite big for a single room in London. Bathroom also very clean with bath. Breakfast was fine, not a wide choice but food was hot and tea was good. I had a room at the back overlooking the garden, so in the hot weather I could leave the windows open at night. Excellent choice of hotel for access to shops and West End.NoneKilkenny15 July 2013

4.5 star rating Excellent location. Friendly and helpful staff. Free wifi. Our room (at the rear overlooking the garden) was quiet, a good size and well equipped. Breakfast was buffet style and the hot food was nicely cooked. At the price, I don't know of a better place to stay in the area."Cr*p" loo roll: false economy because you use more! Some yoghurts on the breakfast buffet would have been appreciated in addition to the cereals, tinned grapefruit and orange segments. Sandgrounder06 April 2014

Steinhard seng. Anonym 25 May 2014

3.0 star ratingGood location with an easy walking distance to the Tube, close to (end of) Oxford Street, theatre district reachable on foot, British Museum close by.
