3.0 star ratingVery central hotel , so if sightseeing in london is your aim , you couldn't be better situated. Really you get what you pay for ...as london is one of the most expensive cities in the world , despite the ratio of euro to the pound. The rooms are clean and beds are made daily ( which to be honest i didn't expect ) .Well as i said you get what you pay for ....the wierdest thing is having to share toilet facilities with other guests....but to be honest the ratio of bathrooms to rooms means that this is hardley noticable ...other than a quick dash along the corridor. Although i can imagine that if you were feeling sick or hungover this may be a little problematic. The breakfast was adequate, although after the first day i decided that no more animals should suffer at my expense for the sake of my full english breakfast.//c~British Museum is handy , as is the northern line , for the west end and Camden market //21 August 2008

2.5 star ratingGood value for money and very well located for St Pancras International and Euston stations. Fine for one person needing a one night transit stop. Towels and bed linen were clean. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good (especially for the money). I'd stay again.I stayed three different nights. Noisy - doors are on a fierce spring! Rooms varied but were generally very tired and one had been well used and not clean (avoid rooms on the street side and lower floors). Management couldn't guarantee a room request ("depends how busy we are") and one room allocated to me already had someone snoring in it! Reminded me of the 1950's. Okay if you're on a nostalgia trip but, really, the hotel and senior management could benefit from a thorough make-over.01 November 2008
2.0 star ratingvery old and dirty hotel. Like an jail cell.10 November 2008
3.5 star ratingThis hotel has more the feel of a student halls, due to its shared bathroom facilities and state of disrepair. You can see how this hotel would have been luxurious back in the 1930s. The rooms are quite spacious, but all the fittings now look very old and worn. However the carpets and linen were all clean, beds comfy enough, breakfast good and rooms warm. I was pleased with the room considering the low price we paid. You really couldn't ask for more, and everything important was there - it's just the trimmings that weren't. Great location for anyone doing tourist things. Night buses bring you back from Trafalgar Sq or Camden Town very quickly and regularly. Just 5 mins walk from Euston and 10 from Russel Square.18 November 2008

4.0 star ratingexcellent location, literally less than five minutes walk from Euston station. Veryfriendly and welcoming staff. Very clean and well maintained rooms. Despite rooms not being on esuite, it barely matters with the sheer number and proximity of toilets, baths and showers on each corridor. I was very impressed that as a strict vegan, I was still able to easily have a great breakfast from the variety of food provided. Would happily stay there again. The walls are very thin so you can get a lot of noise from the adjoining rooms. No remote for the tv was mildly irritating, but only a very mild irritation. 11 January 2009

3.5 star ratingI've stayed at this Hotel four times now. Its exactly what is described. Its cheap as it gets and its very central to London. You can happily walk to many of the popular areas. The rooms are small, too hot, and old and very out dated. It looks like its not changed since the 50's. Do I care? no ! This place has the perfect balance of price/quality/location. I'm sure I'll stay again next time I'm in London. Its the first place I'll be looking to book.MJKC23 November 2009

3.5 star ratingThe hotel reminded me of when I stay in Kenya, the bedding is proper sheets and spotlessly clean. The dining room is comfortable and the food at breakfast was varied, including my favourite haddock, and piping hot. The bathrooms were near the bedrooms and plentiful I never had to wait to use one. There is free Wireless Internet in the reception area which was fast. The decor is tired and the carpets had moths in them in the bedroom. The dining room looked like an o;d colonial room, plastic flowers and looking out of the window there were the usual plants, again it was clean but looked 'tired'raymac07 February 2010
4.0 star ratingI have stayed at this hotel many times over the past 6 (six) years and have found it excellent value for money. The rooms are basic, but the breakfast and staff are excellent. 3.0 star ratingThe staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The price was very good too. Breakfasts were also fine. The location was good; Euston Station was a five minute walk away, but the hotel was far enough from the main road to be unaffected by the noise of the traffic. The hotel was in need of modernisation and refurbishment. It looked and felt rather run down and neglected. It was the first hotel I have stayed in for a long time which did not have private bathrooms. It was also the first hotel I have stayed in for a long time which still used old fashioned keys for the bedrooms instead of electronic key cards which are now the norm.MRT13 July 2010

2.5 star ratingLocation of the hotel was goodArrived saturday 28th Aug, checked into the hotel and received the key to room, took the lift to the 4th floor to room 403, walking to the room the wash room and toilet door was open and there was puddles of water on the floor along with wet towels scattered on the floors. I guess you get what you pay for! Truth of the matter is, I would not stay in that hotel again with my girlfriend, perhaps if it was friends from my football supporters club it would of been fiaccepted, but not ideal to take a loveone!Clarence 01 September 2010

3.5 star ratingWhat a find - just 5 minutes walk from Euston Station and on several bus routes. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. Constant hot water and a fantastic big bath and powerful shower. Tea, coffee, kettle, towels etc all provided. Excellent breakfast. Could leave our bags for 50p on our final day which was great. Nothing really - just no hairdryerCath 31 October 2010

Every day we got a new pack for a tea, coffee and milk in the room. the shared bathrooms were always cleaned up, fresh towels there. eggs were cold, coffee could be better for the continantal breakfast i would like to have some cheese and ham, mold on the ceiling in the bathroom it took me one day to find out, that i have to use a switcher on the other side of the room to use the TV. A sign could be helpful in this ;) 31 March 2011

3.0 star ratingGood central location, cheap in comparison to other London hotels. Clean and functionable. Staff did there job. Breakfast was basic but edible. 1.5 star ratingThe only good thing about the County Hotel is its convenient location. Its location in the city is the only reason to think about making a reservation there. The hotel was disgusting. I'm not very picky as far as sharing bathrooms, but the facilities at the County were downright gross. Everything smelled like urine, there were stagnant puddles on both the bathroom and shower floors, the toilets were constantly full of waste and would overflow, the drain in the shower/bathtubs was always clogged so the water never drained as you tried to wash yourself off. I dreaded having to go to the bathroom or to take a shower because conditions were so unsanitary, wet, smelly, and clogged. As for my room, the staff didn't wash the towels or sheets or provide a wash cloth or a bar of soap in the morning. The entire staff was unpleasant. For breakfast, my online reservation said my booking included English breakfast (hot food), but the staff stamped the voucher with "Continental Only" and in the breakfast room only let go to the cold food stations, whcih meant a serving of cereal, canned grapefruit, and a piece of bread. That would have been fine IF my online reservation had not explicitly said English breakfast. visitor129 June 2011

3.5 star ratingThis hotel offers very good value for single travellers. The room was smallish and clean with everything you need to form a base. Although English breakfast is not my favourite, the food was of good quality and in plentiful supply. The dining room was very well managed and used dishes were readily removed from the dining tables. If you would like somewhere central whereby you just spend time in the hotel generally for sleeping I would recommend this hotel. I had a high level room overlooking the busy main road which made it quite noisy. I could have overcome this problem by requesting a special request on my booking.seb03 October 2011
1.5 star rating- the shower was nice, a lot of hot water- it took 10 seconds before there came water from the tap - we didn't heared one friendly word or got one friendly face from the staff!! - there were only 3 big tl-lights in the room, brrrr very kill light. - there was now difference if the window was open of closed. The cold en nois were the same - the coffee was brown water25 October 2011
1.0 star ratingI will never recommend your website nor the hotel. I booked a room for 1 night and I only noticed after the booking that the rooms had no bathroom. Aber wich will mich nicht beklagen: You get (in London) what you pay for. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, alles war auch sauber.22 May 2012

2.5 star ratingThis is the cheapest hotel in the area around Euston station so ideal for anyone on a budget. The rooms are fit for purpose and reception staff friendly and helpful. Plenty of restaurants nearby and easy access to Underground etc.More of a hostel than a hotel. Shared bathroom facilities between at least 5 rooms no sink with toilets so have to go back to room to wash hands - not very hygienic. On positive side, lots of semi-naked young men wandering about the corridors in skimpy towels!!! Breakfast was on the poor side - comparable to a downmarket greasy spoon. Didn't have the courage to eat dinner at hotel. QueenPea314 October 2012

1.0 star ratingI was very disappointed in this hotel infact I have stayed in better bed and breakfast the staff were very unhelpful and didnt make us feel welcome at all, when it said it included breakfast we were offered a brown roll not a full English as I expected none of this was clear upon booking. I also didn't realise it wasn't ensuite I thought all hotels were ensuite, there was no room service when we came back and wanted some food. When booking in although I had paid in advance they wanted a voucher which I had to then go to an Internet cafe and print one off, they never offered at the hotel to do this for me. Room service was knocking at the door at 8.30 when you are supposed to have the room till 11am. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone and would never cross the door again. If I had paid £20 then I wud have expected this quality but for £66 per night I have had much better in the past.Netty12 March 2013
1.5 star ratingNONE there is nothing positive to say about this place what does not deserve the name HOTEL That was the worst hotel ever! Rooms were small and untidy, overheated to a degree that you felt as being in hell. Opening the window made it a bit better, but you had to deal with the noice from the street. The bed was a a joke - when ever you turned around the bed started rolling through the room. Of course there was a TV but it did not work There was no bathroom in the room but you had to deal with shared facilities on the hallway - terrible!! but there was a small sink in the room, just no water came out of the pipes. booked for 2 nights but escaped from hell the next morning06 May 2013

2.0 star ratingReception staff were v friendly and helpful. Most of the porters were also v helpful, with the exception of the Aussie guy who was on when I arrived - he had a degree in rudeness and bein !! There was also a Spainish porter on duty. He was very helpful. The bedding and towels were clean. The breakfast was horrible - inedible sausage and bacon, plus the waiters were horrible - they also were very rude/surly and definitely didn't suffer with job satisfaction!! They also had some bad hygiene problems - I see one of them wipe a used plate with a napkin then place it back on the table for another person to use. The same guy also swept up some split cornflakes with his bare hands and then threw them back into the container. The best thing about my stay was GOING HOME.I stayed here08 August 2013
1.5 star ratingGirls on reception friendly and helpful. Most of the porters provided a good service, except for one individual with an Aussie accent who was as as sin. Definitely not a 'people' person, had no customer service skills whatsoever - far from suited to the job!Breakfast was a joke - inedible sausage and bacon. The breakfast waiters were plain rude. See one of them wipe a use plate with a serviette and then put it back on the table to be reused. He also swept cornflakes back into the container with his hands. The hotel appears to be being used by the local authorities to house the homeless, so various individuals just hanging about/wondering around, making the place look like a doss house. I asked for a quiet room - the noise was unbearable with the 'riff raff' continually shouting and balling. Best thing about my stay was GOING HOME!!!!Pearly Queen04 August 2013

2.5 star ratingPerfect location, 10 minutes walk for kings cross. Fresh towels and bedding daily, tea and coffee facility, bathrooms and showers (although shared) were newly decorated and in ok condition very noisy due to old/poor fitted windows and door, very basic student accommodation, porter was almost rude when asking him about hair-drier, but softened up a bit after a while. When at breakfast, staff's attitude was very bad. I had paid for continental breakfast, so he said:"you can have toast, cereal, tea, coffee and fruit (prunes), you must not touch the rest". I can say that's a fair point, but it was the tone he said it with. To be honest, there are nice coffee places around, so you can always get better food. If you just need to sleep somewhere and you are busy during the day, hotel is ok, but not recommended for holiday makers unless on a very tight budged. mya29 September 2013

3.5 star ratingLett å finne fram til hotellet. Sentralt. Grei frokost, men ensformig. Anonym 09 May 2014
3.0 star ratingClean enough, staff professional, good location and good English Buffet Breakfast.Hasn't seen any structural or decorative improvements in decades. Noisy rooms due to single glazed, iron framed windows, especially at the front, and thin walls/doors so every neighbours noises are heard.00?18 May 2014
2.5 star ratingas London goes this is affordable, near Euston and King's Cross rail and tube stations. The shared bathroom was up to date and clean.Everything is tired here. The lobby, the rooms, the food ~ oh don't forget the boiled fish, goes great with the canned beans + canned tomatoes. No wifi in the rooms. The pillows we're flatter than a pancake. There are probably prisons that are more comfy! Whoever owns this place is just squeezing every dime out of it, but hey it's London and they get away with it. Two nights here was more than enough.Jack20 May 2014

Dont expect all facilities you get what you pay for and if it is just a bed it's Shared facilities, breakfast staff stare while you eat, food is left standing for ages. Room is very dated and had an unpleasent smell. Anonymous 16 August 2014
4.0 star ratingclean room, shared bathroom and toilets were also clean. Very good for basic needs. The staff were helpful and friendly. The metal rod the key was on was a bit of an inconvenience. Also, the choice of breakfast goods was limited if you don't like grease. Embob2009 August 2014

2.5 star ratingAlthough I have rated this hotel poor, I have to add "well it is in London". I am convinced that nowhere in the World gets away with providing rubbish accommodation at inflated prices quite like our capital city. Positive = staff were smart, attentive, and quite friendly.having to get dressed and go down the corridor to use the toilet in the middle of the night is no fun.Brippy27 November 2014

2.5 star ratingnear to euston and hence a good location for central london.seemed like a hostel. Fire station nearby and having no double glazing, noise of emergency vehicles woke us several times. Obviously shared toilet facility is not ideal. Rooms could do with some refurbishment / paint job.Anonymous 11 November 2015
