1.5 star ratingShower was greatVery noisy. No cups in room on arrival. Bins did not get emptied. Bathroom not clean. Continental breakfast tends to be more than three types of cereal and cold toast. More like a canteen than a restruant. No one clearing tables.11 September 2008
3.0 star ratingVery well located for easy access to all areas of London via the Tube. Short taxi ride from Euston Station. Walking distance to Covent Garden and Leicester Square. Basic ,clean reasonably priced hotel.Breakfast was like a rugby scrum. Tables were piled high with dirty dishes and you had to push them to one side to find a space to eat! Staff walked around basically doing nothing - they occassionally carried a few dishes back to the kitchen. The breakfast room needs someone to organise and monitor it. The food however was O.K.23 September 2008

3.5 star ratingIt was a good quality- right price solution. our three bed room was clean enough and warm. staff was excellent. if there was a hairdryer and little shampoo in the bathroom we could be more satisfied. The room had no isolation. windows were thin for the noise. one of in the night of 23th of november a company of three men stayed in the room next to our. they were probably drunk because they made exteme noise for 3 hours after midnight. only our child slept. we were in alert and a little bit afraid of negative reactions by their part in the night. 03 December 2008

3.5 star ratingWe did like very much to have a water hitter plus tee and coffee bags for our late hotel arrivals every day. I helps us to self prepair a glass of hot chocolate-milk to our daughter before going to sleep. This thing with the English breakfast. We had English breakfast, so we were alloud to take any thing that was availbale -really not much in comparisson with another hoteles!!!!- but there some peaple with only continental breakfast. We were toguether in the same place, but they had to pay suplement of 5 L -dont remenber exactly- if they wanted to take bakon and/or eggs; and it was so confussing, custommers didnt really know how it was organized, and every morning awfull incidents were to be seen...jules31 August 2009

4.0 star ratingThis hotel is what they claim it is. Excellent location for shopping, museams etc., safe area, good atmosphere, very efficient and friendly staff. Room and en-suite were nice and clean. Very reasonable rates. It was a bit noisy outside at night and early in the morning but not because of loutish behaviour ... voices seemed to carry, even to the 6th floor! Would not put us off as we slept sound once we chilled about it!! Will definately be keeping this hotel on the short list for our next trip to London.30 November 2009

1.5 star ratinglocation good and close to underground (russell square)customer service from staff is non existant, cleaner barged into the room without knocking, breakfast room is like a cattle market, staff rude and not polite.ebooker09 August 2010
1.5 star ratingApart from the location I cannot find anything positive about this hotel. Soviet like style, pictures on website nothing compared to what I saw during my stay. No internet which was bad, since I chose this hotel for that. There should be a notice put up on their website or on yours, in order to not mislead travellers. Staff was dry as a toast and least interested. The service was most sad, they charge 50p for storing your luggage, 1 pound 50 pence for even activating your outgoing phone line. I mean seriously this was a total rip off. And it was not cheap, I have stayed in better hotels than this for a lesser price and better locations. This is a faceless, lacks zero in scales of hospitality and has no value / charm in it whatsoever.20 September 2010

5.0 star ratingGood quality, value for money hotel in the centre of London. Would definetly use again. Also an easy walk from St Pancras and Kings Cross stations. A bit noisy during the night from traffic in the street below bedroom. 01 November 2010
3.5 star ratingRoom was clean and comfortableWas given wrong room number on check in so when tried to open door could not and eventually a man opened it from inside therefore already occupied. My young daughter andf I found it embarassing and had to return to reception where was told we had been given wrong room number. In new room the telephone did not work so I had to return again to reception again to ask for it to be seen to. So not a very impressive introduction to the hotel.09 November 2010

1.5 star ratingthe only positive review I can remember is the location of the hotelroom and bathroom are dirty ,the ameneties are almost none. Heating not working properly TV not working more than 10 minutes and it switchs itself off every 1 minute after that. staff are not professional (housekeeping) when i informed them about the heating in my room they started swearing and saying bad words about their colleagues that they gave me this room all in all it was a bad experience. 16 November 2010

4.5 star ratingGreat location and plenty of facilities within hotel and nearby. Lovely park at end of street.A bit noisy but only a minor aspectMarek6727 September 2011
2.0 star ratingIn two words: 'don't bother'. For a three star hotel, this place sucks. A grim, austere building (ok, I could have worked that out from the pictures if I'd bothered to look), surly and unhelpful staff, dubious standards of cleanliness and a breakfast experience that could have been a scene from Within These Walls.  The room we had was very basic with worn bed linen - the blanket in our child's bed had a massive visible hole in it (since when is that ever an acceptable standard?). Filthy windows, two drunk Germans had vomited in one of the lifts, the corridor had peeling paintwork, and every time the people in the next door room flushed their toilet it sounded like the whole plumbing system was about to explode.  Breakfast the next morning matched the overall 1970s Soviet State Institution feel of the place. Warped plastic trays (the sort incarcerated prisoners have to use), mass produced congealing food (the bacon looked like it had been cooked two days earlier and had been left swimming in some greasy water to keep it fresh, and the vat of baked beans had a skin on them that could have been removed to make a handbag), and gloomy, hovering staff all made me feel depressed for the state of the British hotel industry.  I had never been so glad to check out of a hotel come morning. Moonbase59930 October 2011
2.5 star ratingThe hotel did book us in early. The room was okay bar the holes in the sheets. This was not the hotel we booked and was not of the same quality. we booked and you changed claiming it was the same standard and price which we had to tell you was untrue (you did repay when requested). you also assummed we would get your hotel revision yet we were already travelling. you must contact by telephone (mobile) if you change things and have a system in place to cover patrons who are not avialable on the internet when it is changed. the breakfast was almost garbage (school breakfasts were better). the hotel you moved us to was very noisy with young coach parties unlike the hotel we booked and you confirmed. even more annoying is that the original hotel had rooms available according to their reception! all in all a very poor service and organisation (1 out of 10). would i use you again - doubtful and i certainly could not recommend you23 October 2011
3.5 star ratingGood value for money and convenient location. No internet in the room which means I probably won't stay there again. Standard of breakfast needs to be improved.spud28 November 2011

4.5 star ratingvery warm, clean and comfortable in a nice central location.Had a lot of people to see and places to go, therefore found the left luggage facilities very useful and efficient.Staff cheerful and helpful.Paid £ 80.00 for a Saturday night stay through hotelopia .This was reasonable.14 December 2011

4.0 star ratingThe staff was very well organized in receing such a big crowd. The water in the shower was plenty and warm. The cleaning staff was very friendly. The lack of wifi in the rooms and its on and off periods is a real drawback. I think that now a days a free wifi in rooms is essential and a must when there is a need to concentrate on mails. This was impossible when sitting with crowds of shouting people. Elinor06 July 2012
3.5 star ratingThe noice in the breakfast room is incredebly loud, and the staff is stressed and adding to the noice. The Pale Russians24 October 2012
3.5 star ratingExcellent Indian restaurant, I rate it a 4, but I rated the English breakfast a 2, although it was complimentary so I can't complain too much about that. It's good that a free English breakfast was offered as part of the price, albeit a below-average one.Terribly limited choice of white wine, poor quality English breakfast. The queue to the dining room was so big the second day we didn't bother getting our complimentary breakfast. The hotel is also like a giant maze and my friend and I got lost several times. There are signs in places but not at every lift. Strange set-up.19 October 2012
4.0 star ratingWe enjoyed our breakfastsOur room was facing the main road and was very noisy during the night We had to wait 20 minutes in a queue to store our bags for the day and was charged for the pleasure of doing so. Hopefully the charge will be dropped and either more staff to help quicken the process or make other space available.19 December 2012
4.0 star ratingPerfect starting point for sight-seeing trips with Russell Square underground station just around the corner and pick up point for tour buses right outside the door. Within walking distance of most of the major attractions even for a 65 year old like me. Corridors were, in places, very worn but rooms were tip-top for the price - simple but clean and comfortable. As an asthmatic I advise other sufferers to ask for a non-smoking room. I forgot to do this and had problems with asthma every time I entered the room. The room, even though it was very clean, smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and so did my clothes when I left.justme12 January 2013

4.0 star ratingLocation was excellent. Only 3 minutes walking to the metro station and 1 minute to the city tour bus stop. The hotel was good for what we wanted. Prices were excellent for two people because we paid in dollars to Hotelopia less than $700.00 US for 4 nights and a full breakfast. For two friends going 1/2 and 1/2 ($350.00 US each) it was a real bargain for England were everything is so expensive. (Not in pounds that was so expensive at the time of our trip). , Breakfast was good with fruit, meat, eggs, oatmeal, coffee, te, juices of all kind, and bread. The hotel has also an currency exchange booth, store for souvenirs and basic needs, concierge, bar, and best of all WiFi FREE of charge as long as you use it at the lobby, which was fine with me. Room service was excellent, we asked for a blanket and in less than 5 minutes some body was there with the blanket. Same happened with the old fashined TV control that was not working very well, as soon as I reported it, somebody came with a new control that worked very well. If all you want is to be in the center of everything and just go to the hotel to sleep, this is a perfect place for the money.Hotel seems like a market a certain hours because there are young people coming and going all the time. Personnel is so overworked with so many demands of all these people that sometimes there were not very friendly at the front desk. At the restaurant, they were so many people too and they wanted you to carry your boucher all the time saying the type of breakfast you had paid for, English (full breakfast) or Continental (basic things only). If you wanted to change your mind and change from Continental to English, you had to pay $5.00 extra pounds per day. Twin beds did not have a good mattress but the sheets were changed daily, which made things better. Another thing that bothered me was that our room did not have an airconditioned unit at all. You just have to leave the windows open with the hope that the weather will be nice enough for you to get a nice night rest. The weather in June was OK, thanks God no rain at all, but at night it was a little uncomfortable as we went to bed, later on it got better as it got late.ladydil06 July 2013

2.5 star ratingAt breakfast my wife saw a member of staff returning food from a plate to the buffet. Somewhat put out she talked to the restaurant manager who became loud spoken and rude. He explained that this was policy as the food had been taken but not eaten as the customer had declined to pay the £5 EB surcharge. As there were traces of scrambled egg on the plate as well as the sausages this was not apparent to other customers. We have never seen this before and will not see it again as we will not stay at an hotel with such a policy01 October 2013
3.5 star ratingThe facility of been able to leave your bags for a small fee was fantastic. We were able to go sightseeing bag free for the day . Because the hotel is only minutes away from kings cross we were able to pick the bags up quite late in the day hop on a tube straight to the station.Cath 6717 September 2013
2.5 star ratingVery central location, 10min walk to Covent Garden, convenient close to metro station Russell Square. Got a room towards inner courtyard - was quiet, as requested. Room size and beds ok.Long due for refurbishment, terrible smell in bathroom - probably mold - no ventilation. Room ventilation by open window only. Breakfast (English) was ok but not enjoyable, remembered me of "school diner". Vaesteras, Sweden14 October 2013

2.5 star ratingCentral location is nice part of London, felt safe in the area and lovely park near by. Breakfast was included and was basic but good. Plenty to eat and choose from, would recommend for a night Needs updating, room was dusty and worn. Was clean so ok for one night Concierge staff were very helpful and friendly. Recepion staff not so. A couple next to us didnt have their 'printed voucher' and this was causing them great problems at check in even though they had full ID and other methods of recognition. 3.5 star ratingLocation excellent,15 mins walk from Euston station , 5 mins to Russell Sq tube station. Good local restaurants within easy walk. The London pub in the hotel provides a variety of beers / lagers at reasonable prices in a friendly atmosphere. Bar food also available. Hotel staff very friendly. No information in the room regarding facilities ie,dining areas ,local amenities & should you wish to retire early with glass of wine or cup of coffee , you can watch the news for hours on end on a very old T.V !as there were no more channels inside it.. ( Flat screens would also take up far less room !!!). We were never later than 08.15.am for breakfast ,any later you may find yourselves in for a delay. Very little alternative to English breakfast.Anonymous 28 October 2014

Skulle vært mulighet til å be om stell av rom, uten at håndklær ble tatt. jfr. dette å ta vare på miljøet. Litt trafikkstøy. Skulle vært dyne, ble kaldt bare med ullteppe. Måtte bruke sengeteppet i tillegg. Betty12 December 2014

Anonym 11 December 2014
