2.5 star ratingProfessional and personal serviceFirst room was not ready for occupation; the bed had been used and there were dirty cups next to the bed. The second room had non-functioning main light switches; when the bedside lights were used it became apparent that the light fittings were in a dangerous state. Finally I was offered a decent quality room for the initial price. The older block is in critical need of refurbishment.27 October 2008
1.5 star ratingI was very disappointed with the price/quality of the hotel. I felt like it did not reach the 4* hotel as mentioned. The room was very very tiny and the shower was not working properly. I am often travelling for work purposes and I would not recommend it to anyone.08 December 2008
2.0 star ratingConciege and Front desk Helpful on arrival. Front desk assisted us by changing our room quickly when it was needed. Has a leisure centre, if open, cannot comment on it as was closed.Deluxe family room was a double with camp bed. Then Hot tap came of soaking my partner. Second room 1134 was filthy, mould on bathroom tiles, ceiling, wallpaper falling off in room, sick stains on carpet, light switch over bed pushed in, a pedestal fan supplied in room as room red hot, although radiators cold. Leisure area closed early, notice on on door of centre , found after lengthy walk, front desk or conciege did not advise us in advance. Food was poor, bar menu served in alacarte restuarant, no one thought to tell us when table booked days before hand. Waiters spoke and understood little english, steak cremated and refrozen ice cream served with desert. First time I have every refused to pay for an entire meal.04 January 2009
2.5 star ratingClose to centre Adequate for a few nights stay Concierge was very helpful Taxi's from the hotel are reliable and at a reasonable price. Tea/ coffee facilities.During check in, I found that the lady found it difficult to communicate with me (English did not seem to be her first language) repeatedly asking me to repeat myself. She came across as rude, abrupt and did not listen to what I was trying to explain. Once we had checked in, we were not told of the facilities available, and had to look this up in the information provided in the room. Keiky30 June 2010
4.5 star ratingFriendly and welcoming staff. All round good value for moneyLocation - further to walk to central amenities, tube etc. than we would of liked, but that's personal preference due to my partner having some mobility issues)Ellie Bone21 August 2010
4.0 star ratingThe infrastructure was very good (including pool, steam room and jacuzi). Not far (~700m) from the underground station (Old Street). Good location if you are looking for touristic atractions (you can reach the Jubilee line on the underground doing only 1 change). Good deal for the price. There are 2 buildings and the only comunication between them is the street, which is not good if you want to go to the pool using a bath robe only. I asked 4 times for an extra robe (only one was available in the room) to be used while we were in the pool, but no one brought it to my room.rpezzotti27 April 2011

2.0 star ratingThe only thing for me positive about the hotel was it's location for my business meeting. I will be coming to London a few times over the next few months and more than likely would have stayed at this hotel but when you read my negative reviews will see my views are not the same anymore.Upon arrival and seeing how lovely the Reception area was (and never staying in this hotel before) I was really looking forward to seeing our room. The halls leading to the rooms felt very grand and welcoming. Unfortunately when walking in to the room felt shocked to say the least. The carpets were worn and pulled, the headboard on both sides at the front were extremely worn and dirty looking, the ceiling had two black marks from the heat of the lights which I only noticed as soon as I lay down. If I wasn't as tired as I was from travelling from St Helens and my business meeting then I would definitely have complained but I did not have the energy. During the evening we did attempt to have a drink at the bar at the back of the hotel but after waiting ten minutes or so to get served was advised it was a private party and we had to go to the other bar. There was no sign outside this bar stating there was a private function going on either. In fact when walking out of this bar three men were about to walk in too until WE had to tell them it was a private party. Should you wish to contact me then please email me at tracyjones1@live.co.uk or telephone 07403 196081. Thank you.30 January 2012
4.5 star ratingPerfectly acceptable accommodation. I asked for a quiet room and got one with a TV that didn't work - not quite what I had in mind! I didn't try and get it fixed; it was late and I was only there for a night. The decor is dark, but the hotel was fine in a functional . It's a few minutes walk from Barbican tube, so check the location is what you want.Dibble30 March 2012

5.0 star ratingClean, spacious room with efficient and polite staffFinding the room was a nightmare. The directional signage was most confusing. Ground floor lift lobby was tired compared to upper floors10 July 2012

4.0 star ratingSurprising little gem, with modestly priced room. Very friendly staff and a great little pool, steam room and sauna. Would definitely stay here again.Just a little off the beaten track and rooms a little tired, but worth the money!Superswindon17 October 2012
4.0 star ratingFor the price I paid I was very happy with the hotel. I was planning an overnight stay in London and before I went out in the evening I enjoyed a nice swim and sauna. The bed was very comfortable and there was no outside noise to keep me awake. The staff were very friendly. The shower pressure was very low (almost a trickle) and I found myself having a bath instead. Also the coffee and tea facilities hadn't been replenished.16 October 2012
1.0 star ratingNoneThe room was incredibly small and the hotel didn't have any air con. Instead you had an industrial fan in the room than when switched on sounded like an aircraft taking off. I checked in on the evening and enquiries about laundering a shirt for the following morning and was told 'no' they could get it done by 5pm the following day!! Shocking!!!! And this was after calling every tel number from the room twice and no one answering. When I finally did get through to the duty manager she said she was very busy and would call me back in 5 mins. She never called back so again I had to keep ringing the numbers until someone answered! Horrible experience. Never againAnonymous 21 July 2017
