Hotel Information

Nestled in the beautiful Victorian district of Edinburgh, this charming hotel is just over a 10-minute walk from the city centre and the main entertainment areas. Its guests will be a short 15-minute stroll away from the old town, the Royal Mile and the famous castle, and there are convenient links to the public transport in the immediate vicinity. The small, friendly and independent hotel hides a modern interior behind its Victorian façade. The designer furniture, modern bathrooms with Parisien Metro tiles and Hansgrohe power showers are just part of the comforts which make it the perfect place for relaxing. Those who need to escape from the noise of the city can enjoy a beautiful courtyard garden, while the modern lounge is a great place where to sip a chilled drink at the end of the day. For its perfect start guests can savour the cooked-to-order daily full Scottish breakfast.

4.0 star ratingWell located (within walking distance from the centre), clean, very correct price, very good breakfast for an hotel in this category.Small room, noise insulation so-so, shower controls rather weird, comments in the evaluation form in Dutch.17 November 2008
4.0 star ratingfirst of all, the price was amazing for what we got. The room was very clean and the breakfast was buffet style and very good. The hotel is 0.9 miles from the end of Princess Street and closer to the old town and castle so well within walking distance.Small things only. Although the beds are 6 foot wide they are quite hard and the king size duvet does not totally fit. And although double glazed, it was not very good on sound reduction but not a busy area so not to bad.02 December 2008

4.0 star ratingClean, bright decor and tidy.Only 15 minute walk to Princes St or bus stop within 50yds of the hotel around the corner which takes you via the city centre to the Ocean Terminal where the Royal Yacht Britannia is berthed (25 minute journey). The buffet breakfast was plentiful and hot and sets you up for the day.My room quite adequate for my needs.Quite happy to look after your luggage if travelling home later.Good value for money and would return. Its a 10 minute walk to the closest amenities.Only a minor gripe as although perfectly cooked its described as a full Scottish Breakfast but the options were no different to a typical English breakfast, as I expected black pudding, oatcakes and I've had haggis before.HARRY233619 June 2009

5.0 star ratingThe hotel is close to the city centre, the railway stations (Haymarket and Waverley, however Haymarket is the closest one), the castle and some other touristic places. Members of the staff are friendly and help you at any time and regarding any kind of queries. At breakfast they offer you a sort of buffet, so if you are a Vegan, a vegetarian or you just don´t like bacon and fried eggs as breakfast you´ll have some more options such as cereals, fruit, bread, mushrooms and scrumble eggs, among others. The room is ok, clean, well organised and with all you need for a couple of days. Value for money is excellent! This is a hotel but the price is similar than a guest house but you have more facilities. I do not have any commentJS08 March 2011
3.0 star ratingI am very disappointed that one of the staff had stolen 20 pounds from my wallet. Anonymous21 July 2012
4.5 star ratingHighly recomend to stay in Brooks Hotel. Room was absolutely perfect. So confortable and clean. Much more than what we expected. 2 separate rooms for families. Huge bathroom. Warm and nice. Clean. Everything working in the room. Teapot with all sort of hot drinks. Very profesional staff during the whole stay, (front desk and breakfast). As we were in ground floor, in the mornings was a little bit noisy. First day hotel was full and breakfast serving a bit slow.Helena Rubio01 September 2013
5.0 star ratingReally good hotel, a long-ish walk to the centre but an interesting one. A very enjoyable stay in a hotel with a charming character and very friendly and helpful staff. Parking was a slight pain, on waste ground a five-minute walk away in the rain. A car is probably a necessity for a hotel this far out.21 November 2013

4.5 star ratingI go to Edinburgh with my son. Unluckily,my luggage was delayed by the airline. The staff lady is very helpful. She tried best to contact the airline. She also comfort me with patience and coffee. Others is the bed room is comfortable and clean. The price is very super worthy. The only thing that is not so perfect about the traffic is not too convient. Must walk a few minutes after get off the bus. Po po05 August 2014
