5.0 star ratingFirst impressions of the hotel were excellent. Reception staff were very friendly and answered all questions we had. Bedroom was lovely, very comfy and nicely decorated. The bathroom modern looking. Hotel is in a good location. Was also impressed with the widescreen tv which had freeview. Also has a small carpark outside the hotel reserved for guests.The only bad thing I can say about the hotel was that after I had my shower I realised that the shower door doesnt close properly at the bottom so left a small puddle on the floor, but would not put me off staying here again.MandaPanda8820 September 2010

4.0 star ratingExcellent reception staff check in/greeting/bag carried to room for me. New smart bathroom. Excellent large wall mounted TV. Bottled water and free WiFi supplied. Good toiletries. Bargain rates available.No draws or coat hook,or proper wardrobe. Very shallow storage space filled by ironing board, kettle etc To open the window you need to climb the coffee table in room 003. Housekeeping had not left soap when we arrived. Next day housekeeping did not replace shampoo nor fit the requested sheet and blanket which they left folded 143/mal13 September 2011

5.0 star ratingVery helpful staff at both the hotel - see problem below.If you had checked your records you would see that we did not actually stay at this hotel because the booking had been cancelled by yourselves, unbeknown to us, before our arrival. We therefore arrived at the hotel on Friday evening to be told that our reservation had been cancelled on the Wednesday and whoever had cancelled it had said we would receive confirmation of this by email. We did not receive any email and thus we therefore had to ring yourselves to see where we were staying. We had been booked into accomodation which was further away from the city centre and it was of an inferior standard. We had booked into the original hotel as we had stayed there before and it was of a good quality. As I was doing the Edinburgh Marathon on the Sunday morning I did not really appreciate a longer walk to the start either. The room at the new hotel was too warm of a night, but if the windows were left open it was too noisy given that the hotel was situated on a main road. I cannot believe that your company could cancel a booking with had with yourselves as I had written confirmation from you without firstly consulting us. I am also a little confused why you would have booked the new hotel on Tuesday and then cancel the original hotel on the Wednesday. Did your company decide to book us into a cheaper hotel as you had already received payment from ourselves? This has been a most unsatisfactory experience considering it is my first time with booking with your company.
