5.0 star ratingPossibly the best hotel breakfast I've ever had topped-off a great stay at this lovely hotel. Welcoming staff, huge, beautifully appointed rooms, there's nothing to dislike here at all. Highly recommended.Matt B13 October 2015

4.0 star ratingHotel very central could walk everywhere, it was also quiet at night no noise from traffic etc. Would benefit from a wider choice of continental stlye breakfast.23 September 2008
4.5 star ratingA very comfortable and clean room. Obliging staff, particularly on reception. We had a car and were able to park in a secure area.Room on the small side for two people with large suitcases. We were sorry we had not booked directly through the hotel and paid more so that we could have had more space.27 October 2008
5.0 star ratingVery good location and friendly staff.13 October 2008
3.0 star ratingGreat service on front desk - very helpful and informativeNot great that book in policy isnt until 3pm, although the helpful guys on reception did let us know when it was ready sooner Cold breakfast! Grumpy waitress!19 November 2008

3.5 star ratingNice, well-designed roomsWe were given a room (#114) very close to reception. The soundproofing appeared to be poor as we were kept awake at night by noise from reception/bar.17 March 2009
5.0 star ratingMy partner and i only stayed one night, but it was certainly enough to make us want go back and recommend to my family and friends. Hotel immaculate all over, a very spacious room (superior executive room) with plenty of storage areas. Iron, safe, toiletries etc and great t.v with additional channels, choice of purchasing music albums and films. Loved the big bathroom, with power shower and bath. 01 April 2009
3.5 star ratingCorners cut in the area of bathroom accessories in particular the toilet rolls that would not be out of place in Greece... there is no need for a quality establishment to sink this low. Extractor in bathroom not working, scant tea and coffee facilities in an otherwise very good room.02 April 2009
3.5 star ratingFree high speed internet when own laptop is used Only about a six minutes walk away from Royal Mile but cheaper than the hotels directly on High Street The hotel is not special in any but has all facilities you need on a business trip. As an alternative to expensive restaurants there is a well sorted and inexpensive Lidl supermarket just around the corner. 08 June 2009
4.0 star ratingAll in all a very decent hotel where I would be happy to stay again. The shower head holder did not work which meant the shower head kept falling whilst in the process of showering.22 June 2009
4.0 star ratingGreat hotel, great price.Need better, thicker duvets and pillows, and the hairdryer was dangerous!! Knotted up a big clump of my hair - wasn't pleased!!21 November 2009
4.5 star ratingHotel locates in center of the city, it's very useful. Although I didn't use room service of breakfast this time, I would like to use next time.My room's heating system did not function well, it was difficult to rise the room temperature. Tap water is a little bit brown color, Baht and washing hand are no problem, but I think it's not possible to drink.atsuo26 March 2010
5.0 star ratingI was very impressed with the interior of the room. State of the art, clean and has the feel of a 5 star. I would recommend ten hill of all my colleagues and friends. Well done!27 February 2011
4.5 star ratingBest hotel I've stayed in. Really comfy and an excellent standard of cleanliness especially in the bathroom. Bed was so comfy we nearly missed breakfast.jayney10 November 2011
3.5 star ratingThe room was quite small for the money. It wasn't 4* accommodation by any means.polly20 March 2012
5.0 star ratingWe spent one Saturday night at the Ten Hill and were given a free upgrade to a superior room on arrival and the receptionist was very efficient and pleasant. The hotel is very centrally located, but off the main road so very quiet. The room was really spacious and well appointed with quality bedding and an extremely comfortable bed. The bathroom was very large with a good shower and very clean. Did not eat at hotel so cannot comment on food. A 12.00 check out on the Sunday was good and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Edinburgh as it was also very reasonably priced.Lindilou17 April 2012
5.0 star ratingThis hotel was lovely and the staff very pleasant. Everything was spotless.24 September 2012
1.5 star ratingthe waiting staff at breakfast were very pleasant and efficient. What a rip off! I wanted to relax and order room service, however room 305 had dirty great stains all over the carpet, dirty marks on the walls and skirtings, hair in the rusty, yellow bath drain, brown and black gunge round the bath tiles, weeks worth of crumbs, dead skin and hair down the back of the chair, scratches on furniture and a shoddily made bed in a pretty small room, dirty marks on glass bathroom door and the tv was not working. Eventually, we were sent to room 412. On exiting the lift on the 4th floor there was a pile of sawdust or similar and dirty marks all over the carpet leading to our room. Anyway 412, hair in the yellowing bath drain, black and brown gunge round the tiles, dirty marks over the bathroom walls, peeling paint on the ceiling, broken window sash, coffee cup rings and other gunge on bedside cabinets, crumbs in bedside cabinet. I'm appalled and puzzled that this hotel has 4 stars, what an utter, utter disappointment. I paid £146 for this and have requested a refund of £98. So far I have not had a response from the hotel. I could not recommend this hotel to anyone and frankly find it unbelievable that the royal college of surgeons own this place, hygienic it certainly is not!09 October 2012
4.5 star ratingQuiet, convenient, modern, good-sized. No trouser press in room.27 November 2012

4.0 star ratinggreat location and very quiet for city centre hotel. Nice evening meal and lovely breakfast. Staff polite and helpful..The only small negative is the room was a little bit on the cool side even with the thermostat full up at 28c.s. blake31 December 2013

4.5 star ratingChecked ahead to see if we could drop ours bags off from the airport first thing, arrived at the hotel to find our rooms ready at 9am, great service! Clean, modern rooms. Good breakfast. 10 minute walk downhill into Princes street.Anonymous 23 December 2014
Nice and comfortable room with a spacious bathroom and fluffly towels! The breakfast was lovely adn plentiful. The room we had was a classic double and quite small. The frosted glass bathroom door let in a lot of light early in the morning.Anonymous 20 May 2015
4.0 star ratingGood location. Good sized roomsHaving to ask for food at breakfast to be replenished Twice.Anonymous 08 September 2015
5.0 star ratingA warm, friendly welcome, the best hotel breakfast and lovely surroundings, there's a lot to like about this place- and it was my second visit. My areas for improvement are minor- the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work and the pillows are too soft.MattB03 May 2017
4.0 star ratingLarge, clean room with plenty of everything. Great size bathroom. Friendly staff. Easy check in and out procedure. Breakfast being on until 12 at a weekend is a brilliant idea.Only bugbear: the glass door to the bathroom. Bit awkward going about your daily ablutions while your other half tries desperately to look the other way and turn the TV up loud. :/Anonymous 06 April 2016
