This charming boutique hotel is a 12-minute walk from Waverly Railway Station and Princes Street in what is generally regarded as the centre of Edinburgh. It is only a further 12-minute walk to Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile, making this an excellent base for a wonderful city break in Edinburgh. The hotel is a beautiful example of an historic, Georgian-period town house, having been built in 1822 and featuring fine details such as an illuminating cupola, ornate cornices and central ceiling roses. Each room offers a plush bed with Egyptian cotton linens, sumptuous furnishings, and a designer bathroom with luxurious heated floors, fluffy bathrobes and luxury toiletries. Altogether, this hotel offers luxury accommodation and personal service in a central but quiet location from which to explore and enjoy Edinburgh.

3.5 star ratingNice boutique hotel close to the centre of Edinburgh. Small but staff friendly and room clean.The room was small, however was a single. The handle on the inside of the shower was broken which meant I couldn't shut it properly. Fairly noisy with coming and goings and doors slamming. Also when I checked out they had no record of payment through hotelopia, yet the transaction was on my credit card statement. I had to call credit card company who then had to speak to the hotel. Perhaps thus is something hotelopia should review as it was rather embarrassing. 08 October 2013
