Hotel Information

This boutique hotel is situated in the very heart of Old Havana's historical centre, within a short distance of Arms Square, where the village of San Cristóbal was founded. The Terminal de Ferrocarriles de la Habana is around 2 km away and El Templete is approximately 5 km from the property. This residence makes an effort to offer its guests modern amenities and professional service. This typical colonial mansion has 27 spacious rooms decorated in a 19th century style. Each comes with a king-sized bed, and features an en-suite bathroom and a balcony or terrace as standard. In addition to 2 cafés and 2 bars, the establishment offers an elegant restaurant which, together with an exclusive central inner courtyard, forms a highlight of the hotel.

3.0 star ratingGood location. Room had little terrace.Ridisculously priced. Staff unprofessional, porter was trying to sell us cigars, receptionist was nowhere to be seen when we were checking out even though we told her the day before that we were going to check out early. Bathroom was clean but in a very poor condition in need of renovation.06 June 2009

3.5 star ratingGood location, and nice roomOver-priced with respect to similar hotels and bars. Your website said the hotel had internet. It did not..other than purchasing an access card from a boutique which was never open. The price of internet was ridiculous ($9 per hour) which is unheard of anywhere else on the globe. I cant return until there is internet as my businesses suffer significantly without communication. Front desk staff were difficult at times and we always felt like prices were escalating here and there. For example the exchange rate would be 0.87 one day and then 0.80 the next day. We would challenge this and the clerk would revert to the better rate!!! (how does that work?). The hotel has not maps and not much help in planning a day of sightseeing. Sam26 June 2013
4.5 star ratingSanta Isabel was the first of the small private hotels in Old Havana. It is situated in Place des Armes, which was the first square to be built in Havana. It is absolutely in the right place. The open courtyard (which does not have music constantly playing unlike some other places) in the centre of the hotel is a lovely place in which to enjoy a drink and the bar is excellent with prices that are normal for the area. Almost all the rooms have a patio and look the square, which has a daily market of second-hand books (in many languages) and other memorabilia. I really cannot think of a better place to stay in Old Havana.David Lewis11 November 2013
2.5 star ratingnice looking building, booked a junior suite through this company but wasn't available on arrival so had to settle for a standard room which I will be seeking compensation forDidn't care about the fact that they didn't have the rooms that we had booked Anonymous 08 March 2014
4.5 star ratingExcellent staff-helpful, polite, friendly and wishing to please. Fabulous central position right in Habana Vieja on the Placa de Armas. A walk to all the important sights but good, quiet position. I had a room with my own balcony and got lovely sea breezes. Large rooms, good air conditioning. Staff happy to turn it up when I found it too warm.Nothing that can't be fixed. Suggest mattress protectors between sheet and mattress. Rubber protector with rubber side up to the lower sheet on its own ensures a hot night. Some rubber/foam to prevent doors slamming in the middle of the night would help after late night revellers return! Otherwise none.Anonymous 30 May 2014
