4.0 star ratingThe deal I got on this hotel was extremely good value for money and the hotel is pleasant, nice and modern. The room was far too hot, we actually got a headache from how stuffy it was and even when we tried to change the temperature and put the fan on, it made now difference. There was also no proper curtains so the sunlight came through them. 10 July 2012
4.5 star ratingA very friendly polite manageress who was very helpfull the reason for putting my two sons in your hotel for the second day of our visit. We booked a twin room for my sons but were given a double bedroom when we made a complaint we were given a new room of which had a sofa bed and double bed and were told our baggage would be transferred to our new room of which was not done and when our sons arrived back in the late hours of the night they did not have their baggage in their room and the sofa bed was not prepared to sleep in causing a lot of inconvinience when you return tired. The breakfast seved was cold as it was lying around for a long period of time.11 July 2012
4.5 star ratingHotel staff were very friendly and helpful, plenty of choice at breakfast, nice sized roomsBooked twin rooms but were provided doubles, good job we are a friendly bunch! Quality of the cooked breakfast was not the best but plenty of alternatives were available. The rooms werent the most soundproof we were on the 5th floor and could feel and hear the bass from the clubs/bars on the street below.bluepeter8414 August 2012

5.0 star ratingThis newly refurbished hotel looks daunting from the outside as it it a former office block. However, the quality on the inside is superb. Spotlessly clean with high quality fixtures and fittings, and enthusiastic and helpful staff. Very conveniently located for the NIA and Symphony hall. Uperb value for money.23 September 2012

3.5 star ratingAs the hotel is fairly new the room was well fitted out and very comfy. Even though the hotel is located on the busy and lively Broad Street I felt very safe as a lone female traveller. On Saturday and Sunday the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast on Sunday was plentiful and hot.On the Monday morning the staff were unfriendly and just stood in a group talking for the whole of the time I was at breakfast and there was less food and it was cold. If the Monday staff had been like the weekend staff I would have rated staff professionalism a 5 not a 3.Mikki24 October 2012

4.5 star ratingThis was a fantastic hotel which I booked because of previous reviews. However, the only thing that let it down was the bathroom floor not being clean05 October 2012
4.5 star ratingLovely and clean. Nice modern surroundings. EXTREMELY excellent value for money. Had some issues with room but they sorted it. The breakfast staff were very helpful and attentive. Reception staff were standoffish when we had problems with not one but two rooms. I was waiting at reception to sort problems and even though two different receptionists looked out of office while I was waiting they both ignored me completely not even acknowledgement. No car park. 05 October 2012
5.0 star ratingGreat deal on a modern, clean and comfortable city centre hotel. Room was a standard size with a clean modern bathroom and a lovely bed - really appreciated the complimentary shower gel and shampoo. A central location convenient for the station - no car so cannot comment on parking. Breakfast was good - fresh and plentiful with lots of choice. All in all a fabulous hotel - would definitely recommend and will return.NothingMrsC19 October 2012
5.0 star ratingThe room was really modern and clean. Had everything we needed with really nice views over the city especially at night. The location Is really good too. Would definitely use again. :)Ant16 October 2012
4.0 star ratingNot much to look at from the front of the hotel, reception is on the 3rd floor, but once you enter it seems very clean and modern. Access to the higher accommodation floors is via swipe card. Stayed in a very nice double room with walk in shower and was able to order a light meal from the Bar in the evening.I was there Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, so had a nice quiet relaxing breakfast. I don't know what it would be like at weekend with the reception and bar being next to each other.Hotelopia website hotel description suggests :- "There is free parking for those arriving by car", but doesn't appear to be any currently. I did manage to get the 30% discount on the Q-Park Brindley Place car park from the hotel, see hamptonbirmingham website.Anon19 October 2012

3.0 star ratingVery clean and modern roomStayed at the weekend and there always seemed to be large groups of males outside the hotel entrance. We booked a triple room so that we did not have to share a bed (they don't do twin rooms). As there were only two of us we were given a double bed and accused of trying to have more people in the room. When we asked to have the room we booked they then said that we could have a double and a sofa bed, but we would have to wait for them to find someone who knew how to make up the sofa bed (this was 8.30pm and not ideal when we were tired from the journey). Extremely rude and unwilling to help, despite it being a very minor problem for a hotel of their size! Reception is on the third floor with very busy lifts to access- took half an hour to check out!AnneC11 October 2012

4.5 star ratingHuge surprise on how lovely the rooms were, a little small but for the money and a three star was outstanding.Lift is very irritating that you have to have your room key to any floor apart from ground! given that they only gave us one key and there were two of us and you need to leave one key in the room for the lights to work it was a pain.Toni H13 November 2012

4.0 star ratingWe had a problem with a screeching noise from our air con which they resolved immediately by offering us an alternative room without question. The price was amazing especially including breakfast.Check out on a Sunday could be a bit later ( currently 11am) and breakfast finishes at 10am, which was a bit early for us when we had been out late!! 13 November 2012

5.0 star ratingTastefully decorated rooms with excellent facilities. Breakfast was simple but tasty and good to watch bbc news whilst eating it before heading off to work. Location is top end of Broad Street so slightly longer to walk than other hotels but still excellent value.Couldn't get temperature right in room, was bit cool, switched it off in end. Could hear a generator type noise on and off most of the night which made getting to sleep harder. Cup in room had a tea stain ring and I found a couple of hairs on tiles in shower, apart from that it was good. MG04 November 2012

5.0 star ratingVery good hotel in a good position. The high floor we requested was very quiet, and furnished to a high standard. Excellent breakfast rounded off a good trip. Car park is a short walk around the corner, but make sure you pick the one at £5 per 24 hours Dave 17406 November 2012

5.0 star ratinggood service at all times when we were at the hotel. clean and pleasant rooms.had a problem when i phoned before my visit to say we would be delayed and would check in at about 10.30pm. initially the girl on the end of the line very unhelpful and insisting i had to rebook with the 3rd party. i asked for the supervisor. "she will tell you the same thinng" the girl objected and then left me on hold so long that i hung up and rang back. got a new girl and she was helpful and efficient and late check in was no problem. however she then put me through to the USA and a poor confused guy who did not know why but who then proceeded to ask me questions about my age, income etc. eventually i deduced i was to be offerred discounts on holidays in the USA so i rang off. hilton say they monitor calls well i hope they managed these because more work needs to be done on phone techniques. when we actually got to the hotel everyone seemed to be normal and it was fine.25 October 2012

5.0 star ratingStaff very friendly and polite, excellent breakfast.Entrance hall- reception is on the 3rd floor and when going out at night there were people loitering on the steps, if reception was on ground floor tho wouldn't be a problem. Made us feel uncomfortable.Rebee01 December 2012
4.0 star ratingThe hotel was very clean, the room was more than big enough for our needs, plenty of towels and tea, coffee etc provided by a very efficient, polite member of the reception staff. It was also relatively quiet, no doors banging or guests being loud late at night or early in the morning.During check-in my family was subjected to rude comments from a guest sat in the bar area right next to reception. He was sat with a large group and at no time did any of the staff, two who were in the bar area and three in the reception area step in and stop him. I had to tell him that I did not like the comments, that it was not a joke, I had to repeat this several times as he continued to be loud and asking me if I could not take a joke. The staff member then asked if everything was in order as I signed the check-in form, I told her that I did not like to be heckled as I was checking-in to the hotel, there was a quick apology, sorry about that, but they still did not ask him to stop. I did feel very vulnerable as a women traveling on her own with two children and thought that the staff should of done far more to help.13 December 2012

4.0 star ratingstaff were obliging and helpful and the standard of the room was comfortablethe first room we were given had no blind at the window so there was a lot of street lighting coming into the room.we were moved however to another room which was fine27 November 2012
4.0 star ratingVery welcoming member of staff on reception. Room was very nice for what we payed, was expecting a very basic room and was located in excellent spot for the purpose of our stay.Only negative point was that we found the room to be very cold and was unable to change temperature as was already set and unable to change as linked to 'master' controls.Nikki05 December 2012
3.5 star ratingGood location, good value for money, breakfast was adequate. No blind in room to block light (room 620), I rang Reception to let them know and the answer was "some people like the sunlight"! It clearly had been there as there were holes in the window frame area. Shower screen loose at the top from the metallic arm, may be a hazard as it moves slightly Fluff and lose dirt under bed Breakfast was chaotic, I would suggest having a member of staff around to direct the guestsAlimay56820 November 2012
3.5 star ratingHotel very new and very clean.Cooked breakfast was very poor, powdered egg scrambled, no fried or other eggs, just baked beans, no tomatoe, sausage with no meat in it and tasteless bacon., not what you would call a full english! If you just want continental breakfast then everything ok. When I asked about choice of eggs the reply was "What you see is what you get". One of the containers just had boiled water in it!11 December 2012
5.0 star ratingthe hotel was ideally situated for our purpose of a show at the NIC, as we could park the car at the hotel then not have to use it again for the whole stay was excellent, both for our show and to walk down into the town centre, the added bonus for us was that the christmas markets were on toothe only negative was that i think the buffet area for food was just too small to handle the numbers of guests wanting to eat, by the time we had waited for food to be replenished our other food on the plate was going cold, also not having a toilet facility on the main reception/bar/ breakfast area. If the stairs were highlighted more clearly it would have been easier to go up the one floor necessary to use facilitieschrisb20 November 2012
1.0 star ratingNone as we did not stay there. We left our bags at approximately 11am under the impression by the woman on Reception that we had been allocated our rooms but not checked in as the rooms were still being cleaned. However when we returned albeit at appx 10.30pm we were told that no rooms were available. This was even though tags had been placed on our bags as though we had checked in. We were given rooms at another hotel but did not reach there until 1am. The staff at the hotel blamed you for overbooking JB05 December 2012
3.5 star ratingThe room was very clean and the decor is nice and modernThe check-in was a shambles. They refused to let anyone check in before 2pm (even though most hotels will let you check in before the stated time) so at 2pm, there was a massive queue. The breakfast was an absolute disgrace. Most of the food was cold and they even ran out of bacon. The staff were very rude, especially a woman called Cristina. Really disappointed as it tainted the whole stay. 21 November 2012
4.0 star ratingGood central location. Room was a decent size. As was the bathroom. Nicely decorated and clean. Staff were lovely and were very reassuring when it seemed my booking hadn't come through (which was worrying as I'd paid full in advance). One of the staff loaned me some cutlery so I could eat in my room. The airconditioning was very loud. I mean loud enough to wake you up every time it shuddered and the general drone made my night a misery (which was annoying as I was staying there the night before a conference so I wouldn't be tired on the day). Quite a lot of early morning door slamming although this wasn't a problem in the evening.07 December 2012
4.5 star ratingFreindly staff, good customer service, clean hotel, suitable for city centre location as in the heart of Broad St, The room I was stopping in was really cold, breakfast ends at 10am, hotel should allow guests further 5-10 mins to come in, especially when late checkoutNazzie24 December 2012

1.0 star ratingNaI was advised of early check in, didnt get this. When i did check in i was asked for my card to pay, even though i had already paid. Luckily i had my receipt to prove this. I was given a double room when i asked for a triple and then i was expected to have half my family move to the novotel, my stay was a horrible experience.12 March 2013

5.0 star ratingStayed at this hotel for a couple of nights. I had to travel to an athletics competitions at the Alexander Stadium and one of the girls on reception gave me bus numbers and exact details on how to get there. Only took about 20mins. Perfect. Hotel close to town about a 10min walk. There is plenty of pubs that provide food only 1 minute walk from the hotel. Surprised that it was only a 3 star. Breakfast was nice and early on Sunday morning as I had to leave at 8am to head to the track. Everything you would want and cooked was nice and hot. Definitely stay again. Not really any negatives although some people might not like the self service breakfast but suited us as time was at the essence. Davidson17 September 2013
5.0 star ratingI had a really good stay at the hotel. After reading reviews about the hotel reception staff and the breakfasts I wasn't expecting too much but I was very impressed. I would certainly consider this hotel again if I want to revisit Birmingham. The connecting rooms were noisy especially at night. Some of the cuttlery and plates weren't properly cleaned, but it was very busy when we stayed there.02 October 2013
5.0 star ratingExcellent value - would definitely book again. Breakfasts are great choice, although seating can be hard to find on days when everyone is heading to the ICC or NIA for a conference - it's very popular! The middle lift was out of order when we stayed last year, and again this time! Lifts are v quick, but as reception and breakfast are on 3rd floor, and out is floor 0, after/during breakfast, it's nigh impossible to actually get back up to your room to go out - recommend taking your bags to breakfast and using the stairs if you can!! Don't let it put you off though! Only other (v minor) gripe was there is no towel rail for large wet bath sheets! hooks in shower area are too slippy!27 September 2013

Very comfy bed.Good buffet breakfast (only the scrambled eggs let it down!). Scrambled eggs at breakfast not vety good, but this did not spoil the breakfast as there was lots of choice and so plenty of other options.09 October 2013
4.5 star ratingVery modern, clean and value for money. Good gym with new equipmentNo swimming poolraj07 October 2013
4.5 star ratingThe hotel is very clean and even though in a busy area of the city the rooms are quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful even when the unexpected happens, we woke up to no water on the Monday morning due to a Severn Trent problem but bottles of drinking water were provided and rooms for showers were provided in their sister hotel over the road. Not really a negative but since I stayed here last year the lifts seem to take a long time to arrive when called, this wasn't a problem last year so not sure if they have changed something.23 October 2013
5.0 star ratingWas taking part in the Birmingham Great Run on the Sunday so had a larger room booked for 3 of us on the Saturday night. Seperately, I'd also booked a room for just me for the night after (the Sunday). Really pleased that the hotel let me keep the same room for both nights as that was a really nice gesture. Hotel was clean, quiet, location was excellent. Really nice breakfast also.Tim23 October 2013
3.5 star ratingCentral, easy to. Quick check in/out process. Quiet room despite being in the middle of Broad Street. Value for money.Breakfast - eating area was only a little better than a Little Chef and if you have been to one of those recently thats not a high compliment. 1.0 star ratingWell if we actually stayed in the 'Hampton by Hilton', which we actually booked, we would be able to give a review, but unfortunately when we arrived at the hotel, (early may I add so not anywhere near check in time) they told us they were fully booked and had to move us to another hotel!! Unbelievable, especially as we had booked this at the beginning of October, and had researched and picked this hotel specifically for it's location, ie within walking distance to NIA, christmas markets and shopping centre, we weren't happy about this, and it also delayed our start to the day, because we had to go back to the car and drive around again to try and find where we'd been moved, which turned out to be a walking distance of 15 minutes further away from everything than our original hotel choice, not what the receptionist at the Hampton told us! Fortunately the hotel we were moved to we have no complaints about, other than the fact it was further away from everything, but we do feel we were unfairly treated, as we had booked this within plenty of time to be told they were fully booked, plus the payment had already been taken at time of booking!! It will definitely make me think twice about booking there again!!02 December 2013
I can't really comment about our stay at Hampton by Hilton as it never happened!! When we arrived to book in we were told the hotel was overbooked and that we had been moved to another hotel. I was extremely angry about this as we had chosen Hampton by Hilton purely because it was based on Broad Street, Birmingham, within walking distance of the Symphony Hall where we were attending a concert on Friday evening. The hotel we had been placed in was not within walking distance of Broad Street so we also had to spend extra money on taxis to and from the venue in the evening. Hampton by Hilton staff obviously never tried to contact yourselves to advise you they were overbooked so that you in turn could contact us about this. All in all my stay in Birmingham was ruined by this experience and I would never book to stay at Hampton by Hilton or book another hotel through Hotelopia again.Williams02 December 2013
4.0 star ratingThis hotel was very good value and was very convenient for the centre of Birmingham and its various attractions and shops. The bedroom was a good size and spotless. Breakfast was nice and the staff helpful.Check which room you are getting as our friends ended up very close to the number of discos/night clubs in Broad Street meaning it was very noisy at night until they closed and the patrons had dispersed. The breakfast. although nice, was extremely busy and one thing which could be improved is there was no room to place your tray whilst you were helping yourself to various items - this meant a balancing act was required unless you went back and forward to your seat with one thing at a time.02 December 2013
4.0 star ratingVery friendly staff, warm welcome and helpful throughout. Bathroom door didn't fit so couldn't be closed properly, breakfast area was very busy, noisy and cold14 December 2013
5.0 star ratingSimple, clean and everything worked. Great location for shops etc. breakfast is simple and possibly the most efficient system I've seen. It's self service with everything clearly labeled above sections so you don't have to go back and forward. Lovely eating area. I felt quite happy even though I was on my own. Staff really nice and friendly. I used bag storage and this worked perfectly. I've already booked for my next trip.Outside area around hotel is not as nice as others. If you get past this bit it's perfect.17 November 2013
1.0 star ratingGot to the hotel and was advised it had been over booked and we had no rooms even though we had paid and had booking confirmation and they transferred us to another hotel - 15 minutes away from where we needed to be with the rest of our party!!!!25 November 2013

4.5 star ratingVery happy with the room - spotlessly clean, modern and comfortable. I asked for a quiet room and they very kindly obliged, putting me right at the end of the corridor away from the lifts. Would definitely stay again. The lifts really do takes ages to arrive, and the front desk service was fairly uninspired, but still efficient. 06 December 2013

4.5 star ratingGreat position, great discount rates, paid parking available and buffet breakfast really varied.Lifts can be confusing -especially when trying to get to the car park, it would be simple to resolve this with a few notices inside the lifts to explain use of card keys, which floors are reception and car park levels and the 'no exit to car park' in one lift,KBTB26 December 2013

4.5 star ratingStayed for two seperate nights (Friday and Sunday.) Check in was efficient. Staff were polite and helpful. Communal areas were clean and tidy and there was ample space for the number of guests.Rooms were practical but well equiped and clean. Breakfast was basic but all very nice, with lots of choice and well cooked and presented. I had a problem at the end of the day and the staff were very keen to help. Excellent value for money and great location for shops, culture, nightlife, dining etc.On the Saturday morning when I checked out i realised I had left my second suitcase in the room and had left some small items of clothing and a new pair of jeans in the drawer in the wardrobe. I rang the hotel to ask if the items had been found and was told that they would check with housekeeping. When I returned to the hotel on the Sunday nobody had checked. On the Monday morning when I checked out housekeeping came up to see me to let me know that NO items had been handed in from the room. The person who serviced the room on the Saturday was not at work that day so the housekeeping manager took details of the items lost and my mobile number and said that he would ring me back the following day (Tuesday) when he had investigated. It is now Thursday and no call. Therefore, it became a very expensive weekend as I had to purchase a new suitcase, pair of jeans, socks, underwear and small clothing items! My fault I know for not checking the wardrobe before I left but as housekeeping are meant to keep any items found in rooms in lost property I dont know how such large items could have gone unnoticed. Also am disappointed that the housekeeping manger who was so lovely and helpful to my face did not call me as promised even if it was to say they items had not been located. That said the hotel is such value for money that it would not put me off staying there again. (Third visit this year so far.)Zanyangel20 February 2014
5.0 star ratingHotel did not look much from the outside to be fair. On entering there was a sign directing me to reception on the third floor. Once at reception, it was quite busy with other guests checking in, so had a bit of a wait until I was warmly greeted by one of the staff behind the desk, the check-in process was very efficient and welcoming despite the wait. My room was on the 17th floor and had quite a view over the city. Everything about the room was great, air conditioning, free wifi, quiet, tastefully furnished and most comfortable, spotlessly clean too! The bathroom had only a shower which for me was fine. The mirror was not of the 'heated, steam free' type which surprised me, as so much thought had gone into everything else for the comfort of guests. That would be my only negative point, although it is a personal preference! Breakfast was tasty with plenty on offer to suit all tastes. All in all a short but enjoyable stay, if i found myself in Birmingham again, I would most definately return here.Roseisle07 March 2014
4.5 star ratingGreat value for money. Lovely staff. Very clean. Super breakfast. Fantastic location and my room on the 17th floor had a wonderful view. For the money, it was amazing. I used a public car park across the street and it was cheaper than the hotel facility.Anonymous 12 February 2014

5.0 star ratingVery good value for money and in a centrally situated location. The hotel was very quiet (the quietest I've stayed in) and the restaurant area was great. Generally the hotel had a good vibe and I thought it represented excellent value for money.I thought I was getting three proper beds but actually got a double and a pull out sofa bed, which wasn't quite as presented in the info. Didn't matter too much as it was only for one night.Anonymous 24 February 2014
5.0 star ratinghotel lovely quite posh in fact hotel staff very friendly and helpful nothing to much much trouble for them plus with it being in a busy part of Birmingham with night clubs etc theres plenty of security staff at night but in all honesty I am a light sleeper and with all the hen nights stag nights etc that I knew people were attending we heard no noise at all would definely stay at the Hampton again when in Birmingham oh yes and a good bus route into town saved taking the carnone not any at all it was lovelyAnonymous 03 April 2014
5.0 star ratingGreat value for money hotel. Excellent facilities, rooms immaculate and well fitted out. Breakfast included and good selection. Would definitely use this hotel again if we visited Birmingham. The outside does not do the inside justice. Looks a little worn until you step inside. Downside for us, near to loads of bars and nightclubs, so definitely a room higher up is necessary for a good nights sleep.Anonymous 07 April 2014
4.0 star ratingExcellent value for money. The hotel staff were great, the location is good and the room was nice. The only downside was the breakfast, it was a bit canteen style but honestly, for the money, couldn't fault it really.Vicki14 April 2014

5.0 star ratingI can't fault this hotel for the price range, there are more prestigeous hotels in Birmingham, but that is reflected in the price. We regularly stay at this hotel, as it is value for money, central for amenities, meaning we can have a relaxing break without worrying about taxis. Staff are very helpful, rooms are clean and secure.Anonymous 14 April 2014

4.5 star ratingLovely room. Clean, spacious with great bathroom. Perfect location for NIA. Friendly staff. Large choice for breakfast.Difficult to find carpark. 3.5 star ratingThe room was very nice big beds very comfortably bathroom was clean and shower excellent. Breakfast was good. Receptionists were very lacking in knowledge of local area unless they could see the place on the map. Three out of four of them couldn't speak or understand English which is absolutely not exceptable. No hair dryer or safe in the room and no heavy curtains to stop the light first thing in the morning. Anonymous 16 March 2014
4.0 star ratingVery clean room. The bed was comfortable and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. With a useful facility that allows us to leave luggage both before and after out stay. Reception staff also recognised that we wouldn't want to be disturbed by the number of hen parties and therefore gave us a room away from the front of the hotel. The entrance to the hotel was deserted and off-putting with just a signpost indicating the lifts.it also looked a little tatty and ill-kept. Not a very good impression for anyone staying and it gave a false impression compared to the excellent stay we did have.diane01 April 2014
5.0 star ratingEverything very good, staff, rooms, parking could not fault The only negative I can think of is the price of drinks in the bar. If the prices were lower it may encourage people to have more than 1!Anonymous 22 April 2014
4.0 star ratingWe stayed here for just one night as we were attending an event at the nearby NIA, which is just 10 minutes walk away from the hotel. The staff were very friendly and the room was very clean and adequate for our needs. The room which was on the 6th floor was very quiet, and although being told that the hotel was full that night, we had a very quiet nights sleep with no disturbances inside or outside the hotel. The buffet style breakfast is of a very good standard, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Another plus point is that the bathroom has a great shower and all the toiletries you need provided. The car parking is a bit vague, we missed the hotel car park as it wasn't obvious despite having a sat nav .We parked in a car park which was just next door, and was cheaper than the hotel car park. As we didn't know Birmingham city centre, we decided to have a meal in the hotel before the concert. We asked for a menu at the bar, and we were surprised to find only 3 choices on the menu. These were 2 kinds of burger and chilli con carne, we opted for the latter, and sat alone in the dining room for the entire time we took for our meal, which wasn't particularly tasty. However when we left the hotel we understood the reason why the menu was so limited, there is a wealth of restaurants and bars on the doorstep. The other little gripe is not enough tea/coffee/milk facilities in the room.Anonymous 02 May 2014
5.0 star ratingGreat location, excellent price and lovely breakfast will definitely use hotel again Only one lift goes to car park and at busy times u can wait a while but other than that can't find any faultCaroline13 May 2014
4.5 star ratingGood hotel located in the city centre; bedroom was clean and spacious and had hair dryer and iron too. Staff helpful and informative. Not a negative but it would be helpful to include the post code for the hotel car park rather than trying to locate this on Broad Street. One of the lifts was rather temperamental and wouldn't always close! However, that being said there were four others to use and the quality and cleanliness of the lifts superb. Anonymous 22 May 2014
5.0 star ratingI only stayed for 1 night (with my 2 daughters) but we were very impressed with the staff, the room and the excellent breakfast. I was a little concerned that it may be noisy (as the hotel is on Broad Street) - but it wasn't at all, and was most convenient for shopping, bars & restaurants. We all agreed we would definitely stay there again....for a girlie weekend break it's ideal.Anonymous 27 May 2014

5.0 star ratingThis is a very good 3 star hotel and only the lack of a swimming pool prevents it being a 4 star property. It is ideal for the ICC and within a short (5 minutes) walking distance. The rooms were modern, very comfortable and very clean. There was no noise at all. Breakfast is included as is WiFi. The WiFi speed was adequate though I found my HSDPA on my mobile phone was faster. Not bad considering it is free. I would say I prefer this hotel to any Novotel I have stayed at.NoneAnonymous 25 May 2014
5.0 star ratingGreat size room (1616) I was with a friend who said that she had stayed in the Radisson Blu in Birmingham and the Hilton's room was much better, despite it being half the price The staff were all very helpful 24 hour bar, which we didn't use this time but we may in the future Great looking bathroom with great amenities - room was overall at a very good standard The breakfast was very nice, if only there was more options that did not contain meat (I'm a pescatarian). Also the eating area/ lounge for the breakfast looked absolutely fantastic ! There was a range of different seating options, a mini library and also a TV which was great - I was very impressed on the interior design Has a great hotel car park but fortunately, I researched on Parkopedia for nearby hotels and there was a perfect one on Turner Street (directly behind the hotel) and for 24 hours, it was only £5.60 ! Great hotel and my friend and I are planning to stay again soonNone except for the improvements of breakfast choice in the morningAnonymous 26 May 2014

5.0 star ratingGreat hotel in a central location - Modern and comfortable with everything you need. Breakfast was very good for such a busy hotel - still hot and fresh and replenished often. Car park around the corner with reasonable rates (hotel has it's own car park also). Only thing was the lift - the staff didn't inform you how to use it ( you have to swipe your room card first to get it working and it wasn't glaringly obvious ) and the lifts had a mind of their own. Will be back.Anonymous 20 May 2014

3.0 star ratingThe room was hot. The AC was broken but I was knowingly given the room with desk fans. When I tried to adjust the AC controls the second morning, I was left a sheet, a bottle of water and another desk fan whilst out on business all day. Breakfast selection of yogurt, fruit and cereals was limited and unappealingly presented, but then I was hot and tired....Anonymous 06 July 2014
4.5 star ratingThe hotel was very clean, fresh and pleasant. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was lovely, they had a breakfast buffet of choices from cooked breakfast to healthy options. The rooms were quite modern with nice views from high up. Lovely bathroom and shower. Security well monitored and kept by a pass which has to be swiped in the lift before you could go past reception and it would only take you to your floor. Air conditioning and room temperature control was good and beds were comfy :) First impressions are a little deceiving when you first walk in but once your in its fine. You cannot open the windows at all. There were kids screaming and running up and down the corridoors, and banging very loudly constantly til about 11pm which was irritating, but not the hotels fault, it was the parents for not controlling their bahaviour. 5.0 star ratingI recently stayed 3 nights at the Hampton By Hilton as I attended wireless festival in Birmingham. Me and my friend booked a double room costing £20 each per night which is excellent considering the location being right on broad street. The staff were great we had two separate bookings as we last minute booked to stay the Sunday night and we didn't have to change rooms which was great. The breakfast was great we expected it to be pretty basic but there was a buffet with full English continental breakfast yoghurts cereal juice coffee tea. At night there are bouncers on the door and you cant get in without a key card or use the lifts without one so security is great also if you do not wish to venture out onto broad street once inside the hotel you wouldn't think you are anyway I was on the 4th floor and never heard noise from the streets below and we stayed fri-sun. You couldn't find a better hotel, in a better location for the price would recommend this hotel to all family and friends. thank you for a great stay!brown09 July 2014

Lots of little extras like an ironing board, kettle and toiletries in the bathroom. No bath and the shower tray filled up with water so quickly it was in danger of flooding so you couldn't spend long at all in the shower. The hotel was very hot, the air conditioning didn't seem to be working and people were being moved or given fans. The breakfast area was most peculiar no proper tables, people sitting eating at coffee tables.Anonymous 24 June 2014

4.5 star ratingThe hotel itself is a perfect place to stay. However, the breakfast was not so satisfactory. It had only English breakfast without another option (well, except cereals and yogurt). We were not able to make just a sandwich with, e.g., cheese. One more thing - the breakfast premises were very cold. The first morning we had breakfast at 6 a.m., so we were freezing in the room due to air conditioning. The same could be said about the room. After the morning cleaning it was always set at +16C. Whenever we were coming back we were freezing in the room and we had to warm it up with the same air conditioner. This is definitely not environmentally friendly.Anonymous 14 July 2014

5.0 star ratingStaff very polity and professional. We were offered a choice of which level we would like to stay on. Room was modern, immaculate and well presented with an amazing view of Birmingham. Air conditioning was great addition to the rooms on level 16 as it still got very humid within the corridor. Breakfast was great with something for everyone on offer. The breakfast times were great too and the hotel acknowledges the busiest times and advertises these within the reception/lifts. Drinks at the bar are at a similar price to those pubs and bars on and around Birmingham. Great location. Walking distance from shopping centre, canals, pubs/clubs and restaurants. We found a cheaper car park just two minutes around the corner from the hotel. Otherwise, great hotel, great city. Most definitely say again and recommend to friends and family.Samuel12 August 2014

4.5 star ratingThe room was immaculate, 10/10 to the housekeeping staff. My daughter had a large sofa bed to sleep on, which was a vast improvement on some hotels we have stayed in. Hotel security was very good as you needed your room card to get into the building in the evening and to use the lift. Reception staff were very helpful and efficient. The dining room was spacious and we didn't have any trouble finding a table for breakfast. Dining room staff were also very efficient, tables were cleared quickly and food replenished regularly. Strange design of wardrobe door. When it opens, it blocks the bathroom door, trapping anyone who happens to be in the bathroom. If you try and open the bathroom door when someone is getting something from the wardrobe, they are likely to get their fingers trapped- Ouch! The pillows could have been comfier, they were a bit on the lumpy side and I found that 2 was too many and 1 wasn't enough.Anonymous 15 August 2014

5.0 star ratingAmazingly good value for money, with a really good buffet breakfast included. Very comfy beds, powerful shower, spotlessly clean, helpful staff. Very central. Although guests pay for parking (£10 for 24 hours), you can come and go from the car park as often as necessary within that time.I would prefer cheaper parking rates for guests. 4.5 star rating loved the walk in shower as husband has a bad hip so saved him climbing into bath. room was darker at night unlike other hotels which let the light in around poorly meeting curtains. liked the fact that the room had air conditioning which we used on going back to a warm & stuffy room.nowhere to hang towels so they could dry after showering when staying for more than one night. the hooks by the shower were insufficient in hanging towels on & only one towel could be hung on rail above the shower so it could dry. Anonymous 02 September 2014
4.0 star ratingThe hotel is well located, well equipped, clean and contemporary. Staff are friendly and professional Small detail, but for new visitors reception needs to make guests aware that their room card activates the lift. All to often I see people confused as to why the lift won't move. Showers are very adequate but the maintenance team need to ensure that hair is removed from the drain hole on a regular basis so water drains away properly. RG from London13 September 2014

4.0 star ratingGreat central location on Broad St, easy to find and has own car park around the corner. Free breakfast is pretty decent and plenty of tables and comfy chairs in dining room area. Front desk staff very polite and helpful. Lift access only for those with hotel key cards so good level of security. Rooms nicely decorated and clean. Tea and coffee making facilities. Good power shower. Aircon with adjustable controls in room which is good for a 3* hotel.Bed is really firm! - too hard for me and did not sleep well as a result which was a shame as rest if hotel very good considering price paidAmandaK21 September 2014

4.5 star ratingThe location was perfect for my needs and the breakfast selection was lovely. The room was a lot smaller than I'd had in the past but still very comfortable. Some of the staff are a little abrupt & not always helpful I've found this on several occasions as I've used this hotel in the past. The tv in the room didn't work & there was no cold water coming from the bathroom taps but as it was 1am I didn't fancy maintenance arriving at this time! The water however was working the next day after very noisily coming back on during the night! The lifts in the building are shockingly slow and unable to cope with the amount of floors and guests.Anonymous 12 November 2014
4.5 star ratingGreat location and parking available onsite (£10 a day). Our twin room on 7th floor was clean and spacious. Hotel is very close to bars and restaurants and approx 15 minute walk to shopping area/bull ring. Hotel was very reasonably priced and breakfast was included in the price. Bathroom facilities were good with a powerful shower, huge bath towels and plenty of hand wash, lotion, shampoo/conditioner. I would use this hotel again.Only slightly negative things about our stay - the Tv signal was intermittent on some channels and the wifi seemed to work for half of our stay. Andrea 05 November 2014
4.5 star ratingOverall this is a very good place to stay. The professionalism of the staff is outstanding, the rooms are clean and well equipped, and the food is pleasant enough. 5.0 star ratingThis hotel is ideally situated. The rooms were very clean, beds comfortable and the staff were extremely pleasant and nice. Nothing was too much trouble. Despite it's central location, there was no road noise to be heard at all. Perfect for a weekend in central Birmingham. If there is a negative I would say it was only because we were in a room with an inter-connecting door and the neighbours were a little talkative into the early hours. However, we mentioned this the next day, we were moved rooms and the staff moved all of our bags as well. Nothing was too much trouble, so not really a negative. I will add I am a very light sleeper. Second night was extremely peaceful.Anonymous 01 April 2015

4.5 star ratingThe hotel is well-appointed and a 24-hour food, drink and bar facility is an excellent feature. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are smart and well-furnished. It is handy for all the main Birmingham city centre venues. The room card-operating facility, especially in the lifts and room-lighting system might be explained with an instruction card for Dummies supplied with the card itself! The TV reception was so poor I gave up but I appreciate this might be beyond hotel control. However I stress these are relatively minor points in the overall scheme of things and I was extremely satisfied with my one-night stay!Gerard16 March 2015
2.0 star ratingDecent location near the heart of town. Breakfast was good with a wide selection of items to choose fromThe reception staff seems to be more interested in doing their own little tasks rather than addressing customers who have come in with questions or are checking in (once they did actually speak with us they were friendly and helpful). There was a fire alarm which got triggered in the evening. The staff did not know how to round up the guests to get them to safety, and the staff who we followed led us to a dead end, i.e. we would have perished if there was actually a real fire rather than a false alarm. We ended up having to find the real escape path ourselves.Anonymous 06 April 2015

4.0 star ratingCould not fault the room, very modern, clean, comfy bed and pleasant to be in. Large TV, desk and it was great to have plenty of plug sockets, especially the ones next to the bed. Toilet/Shower room was spacious and well equipped. Loads of seating in the bar/lounge/restaurant area to relax in. Gym was good, modern equipment and enough choice, however would be nice to have dumbbells heavier than 10kg. Breakfast had enough choice although the quality of the food could have been better. WIFI was good.Food in the restaurant wasn't good, the first night I ordered a £10 pizza and it was like the frozen Goodfellas pizza you buy from the supermarket but it was from the snack menu so I thought next time to order from the full menu. The menu has a number of daily specials on it so the next evening I ordered the special £13 fishcakes, when it arrived it was clear the fishcakes had been oven cooked from frozen, accompanied by oven chips and mixed frozen veg, not special at all. The final evening I ordered the summer special £10 caesar salad that was advertised at the bar, when it arrived it was a little on the small side and didn't have the croutons that were advertised. Most of the meals are £10-£14, for that price the food should be better and there are plenty of other food outlets close by, however I wanted to study whilst I had my meal so didn't want to eat elsewhere. One time I went to the bar and asked for a glass of shiraz, first I got a white wine, then I the lady started pouring a cabernet sauvignon and finally when I got the shiraz it was in a chipped glass. Quality of the breakfast food could have been better. Heavier dumbells in the gym.Scott Edenborough14 August 2015
Really friendly staff. Very modern and clean rooms. Brilliant for the price we paid. Would defined recommend it and stay there again. Broad street isn't great, a bit tacky now. 4.5 star ratingHampton by Hilton is a very nice hotel situated in the heart of the nightlife in Birmingham. The exterior of the hotel is hideous, however once you enter the building it's rather modern and up to date. Upon checkin, it was quick and simple. I did notify the colleague that this is the first the time I've stayed at the hotel. She did not really explain to me that I would need to insert the card into a slot in order to activate the power within the room. After contacting the reception team I was told how to do this. The room itself is large, plenty of space, with an LCD TV, comfy bed, with power air conditioning. It is rather loud with the AC on, also a little buzzing sound once it's turned off. However, this was just a minor issue. The breakfast buffet I s held from 6am - 10am. With a large range of fresh patisserie and a full English. You also have a choice of juices and cereals. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. For the price paid it is definitely value for money. Loud AC. Imran21 August 2015

Bathroom and room was very clean, hotel well organised and staff are very professional yet friendly. No food at breakfast by 9am, no bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs and took a long time for them to fill the trays up again. TV remote not working, minor issue as not really used. 4.5 star ratingWe had a one night stay in this hotel and were impressed with the facilities. However, as it was late evening when we arrived we wanted to eat there so that we didn't have to wander the streets of a strange city looking for a restaurant. Meals were still being served but when we inquired about the possibility of a gluten free option we were told that only the food on the menu was available. As we really didn't want to leave the hotel at that time of night we stated that anything at all that was gluten free would be acceptable and gave specific suggestions of bacon or grilled fish with potatoes or chips but the kitchen again told the receptionist that only meals from the menu would be cooked even though there was an abundance of bacon for breakfast the following morning and specific information about gluten free food was clearly displayed in the dining area. Also there were only a few vegetarian choices available for breakfast. This is a clean and comfortable hotel and the staff are very pleasant so we would stay here again but think that the food issues should be addressed.Anonymous 28 September 2015

The Broad Street side of the hotel was very noisy Saturday night until 5.00 am due to a night club opposite Getting a seat for breakfast is very dificult at peak periods. The arrangement of the reception area is very, very badly planned, it's opposite the lifts so at busy times peoiple arriving, leaving and going to their rooms have to fight through a crowed area. Check in was quite slow.Anonymous 15 December 2015
5.0 star ratingThe hotel was a perfect choice for our trip. Within walking distance to everything. Some nice restaurants near by . The room was very modern and well equipped . Breakfast was very busy but the staff were very efficient and helpful. Breakfast was good quality with a great variety and good coffee. Would recommend and would definitely return.Millie20 November 2015
5.0 star ratingGreat hotel on Broad Street. Wish they would have some facilities for children like a games room? But other than that would definitely stay here again None!Shellb03 November 2015

5.0 star ratingNew to us We stayed at the hotel on 28th. October on our way north The lift from the car park was out of order. On our return we stayed there again and to our horror found the lift was still out of order. We are both disabled and found climbing the flight of stairs with our luggage very distressing. I cannot believe the lift could be out of order for so long. Spoilt a perfect stayAnonymous 05 November 2015

3.5 star ratingWas a great place to stay, we had a great weekend and it wasn't to far from the town centre too.. it was clean and staff was helpful tooI would only say breakfast could of been a bit hotter and the scramble egg could do with a lot less salt!! As it had way to much in it!Anonymous 20 October 2015
4.0 star ratingAll the key features one wishes for were in place. We booked in late, but no problem. The room was a good size, the beds were very good, and the breakfast also good. One 'guest', aged about 22 came down for breakfast in her pyjamas, to join her (fully-dressed) friends. I can accept that sometimes guests will try it on, but your staff should have done something about it. The girl in question had clearly not washed, and gave a very strong signal that such standards are perfectly acceptable to the hotel, which I know they are not.Anonymous 27 October 2015

4.5 star ratingRoom was clean and well equipped with everything needed. Staff friendly and just needed to ask for extra milk and coffee.Public seating area was ok but some sofas dirty and stained. One lift not working so made long wait for lift.Anonymous 10 November 2015
4.0 star ratingClean room. Friendly, polite & efficient staff. Good breakfast.Would like to be able to open bedroom window for air. Other guests said the same. Had to go to reception to ask for a shower cap, which is normally in hotel rooms. Lift not working without swiping your keycard in it all the time was a pain. Some of the small leather Chairs beside the breakfast room were manky. Everywhere else was spotless. Could do with space in breakfast room for guests to put trays on whilst trying to get teas in the main breakfast area.. Space was a bit tight.Anonymous 10 November 2015

4.0 star ratingLovely large room. Very clean and tidy. Quiet on 12 floor.Mediocre breakfast and WiFi poor. Area may be a problem at weekends as its a 'party' street although no problems when we were there midweek.Anonymous 18 October 2015
3.0 star ratingStaff were friendly parking was good very centralOur room was next to the ventilation plant so was noisy the room wasn't quite finished -the shower knob kept coming away in our hand- there was door handle in the inside of the bathroom the door for the wardobe doubled up as the door for the bathroom which made it dangerous when one was getting something in the wardrobe and the other wanted out of the toilet - bangrosie18 October 2015

Staff were very helpful and pleasant, very easy check in and departure, good value for money Great breakfast, what more do you want, Thank youNil of note really: the lift did seem to have a mind of its own at times and go up and down before getting to your floorSue27 June 2016

5.0 star ratingClean rooms with good shower and comfy beds.Gets a little chaotic at breakfast at peak times and one lift being out of order did create problems for those of us on middle floors as lifts were full when they got down to our floor. However, would still recommend as good value and the hot breakfast is a winner.Harps22 November 2016
4.5 star ratingDespite the hotel being on one of the busiest streets in Birmingham, our room was very quiet, and secure. The facilities were clean and the beds were a decent size -- much appreciated by my middle age spread! The only gripe I have was actually about the booking, which hadn't been processed properly. Having booked on-line through a hotel booking service, I was disappointed that it wasn't a flawless process of registering. Happily, the receptionist was able to arrange things eventually.FatKat23 November 2016

5.0 star ratingEnjoyed our stay at this hotel, no complaints. But be warned, it's on a major party street - so the area is very loud at night. We were on the 16th floor so it wasn't too bad, but on lower floors it might be a pain.Matt28 September 2016
3.0 star ratingI was only in the lobby and all I can say is: pleasant serviceThe hotel could not offer me the room I booked. Instead, they sent me to another hotel in another part of the city which was a 'conference' hotel situated in the business school on the campus of Aston University. I lost a lot of time, plus my itinerary had to be changed since my plans now need to be altered entirely. The people at the reception tried to be nice and offered me a complimentary drink, alongside a taxi ride, including one to the airport. The reception mentioned that it was due to 'maintenance' of the room, which does not make sense at all. This seems to be a clear case of overbooking. DESMOND07 November 2016
5.0 star ratingExcellent hotel, Brilliant staff, lovely and clean, nice breakfast, Excellent value for the money. Would certainly recommend to othersWe did not book through the hotel direct and so were not aware of the parking cost of £10 per day, which, when added to the price we paid for the 2 night stay increased the cost by 20%. However the parking cost is clear on the hotels own website.RoyZ17 November 2016
5.0 star ratingI had a lovely stay. The staff were very helpful and charming. . I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The views from the 17th floor were amazing. Excellent breakfast in very comfortable surroundings. I tried to book direct with the hotel but they could not match the price I was offered on a booking site. My only less positive comment is that the lifts were a bind and I often shared it with the laundry and domestic personnel. (who were incidentally happy and fun) Anonymous 26 November 2016

5.0 star ratingIt is very clean. Trainee staff Maria (or Marybel) at the check in was very good and helpful. Blossom who we saw in the morning when we went down to have breakfast was very welcoming. I could see she was very busy but she never failed to make people feel welcome with a smile and make them feel comfortable. Overall a wonderful stay. The water in the shower wasn't draining properly, but Maria made sure that it was taken care of. She even told me to call her back if no one showed up to rectify the problem. 4.5 star ratingClose to all locations such has the icc and barclacard arena.Quiet out of the way of all noise.Only negative comment I have is that with it being New Years Eve and paying for bed and breakfast was told that they only served till 10am next morning but after checking out noticed it was being served till 12and was not told that when we checked in.Anonymous 03 January 2016
4.0 star ratingThe breakfast was great, everything you could want and more. The room (twin on 7th floor) was brilliant. The beds were almost queen size. Big bath sheet towels and a hot shower with plenty of force. Security on ground level at night. Plenty of space in the car park, although not quite sure how safe it is to walk up the car park ramp to gain entry to the hotel when on the lower level of the car park. I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely return, there's just the odd thing which could be improved. The bar was not manned adequately and on one occasion my beer sat out of the fridge for 10mins whilst the staff tried to locate a bottle opener. The staff were also a little rude in the bar/reception areas. The toilet for the bar area was on the floor above, not great especially considering the lifts were such a faff. The main light in the toilet was not working however there was plenty of light. Ali10 March 2016
