3.0 star ratingFire alarm went off at 2 am and we were all shifted around the streets for half an hour. When booking out no apology was made (alarm was clearly avoidable given proper precautions) and the staff member was unable, despite given time, to present me a bill with the charges presented in a simple form. I will not be staying at a Radisson hotel again, and will do my best to discourage others too.Simon Rippon16 February 2012

2.0 star ratingWe were charged £ 30 for an extra bed when we had booked for 2 adults and 1 child ( aged 9) we were told that children up to age 17 were expected to share a bed with their parents!!! Anyone want to share a bed with their 17 year old? Not a family friendly hotel.01 April 2012

5.0 star ratingWe had a fantastic stay. The staff were courteous, polite and helpful at all times. My partner received a free plate of strawberries, fudge and chocolate for his birthday, which was a lovely touch. The room was clean and welcoming, the king-sized bed comfortable and the bathroom was warm and clean too. The breakfast was buffet style, with many options to suit all tastes. I would definitely recommend Radisson Blu Birmingham to anybody and will look forward to staying there again.Kirstyjd08 April 2013

3.0 star ratingPre theatre meal was very nice although cost of meal does not include side dishes such as potatoes and veg!The hotel advertises a cocktail bar on its website although when we returned to the hotel we were told they had run out of orange juice and were only able to make two cocktails off the list. The bar then closed just before midnight when their website advertises that it is open until 2am. Our room had a very dirty carpet, a mattress that was so soft you rolled into the middle of the bed and the smell of drains when ever you turned on the bathroom taps. There is a mini bar in the room but that had been emptied, the reason was we were told is that a new range was to be put in the mini bar later in the week. Evs21 May 2013

 Polite and efficient staff on reception always makes a good start to a hotel stay. The room was nicely decorated and apart from the bench under where suitcases are presumably meant to sit was very clean (routine vacuuming here needed). The bed was comfortable and the linen nice and fresh. The WiFi was reasonably fast and we had good reception on the 8th Floor. We would go back to this hotel and do recommend it to others.We had two iPhones, two iPads and two laptops that need to be charged overnight. We know we weren't the only ones suffering from a lack of sockets. We use our portables as our alarm clocks and also like to listen to the radio last thing at night and first thing in the morning having no sockets whatsoever by the headboard was inconvenient. Seats in the lobby were few and not comfortable - meeting up with others need precise timing.Mike Binks15 April 2014
