3.5 star ratingThe hotel is very grand looking, a beautiful building inside (downstairs) and outside, it really is a lovely looking hotel, checking in staff and bar staff were excellent. Plenty of choice for breakfast. The bedrooms are so tiny - it looks as though they have been cut into 4, very high ceilings but tiny ! Too small for more than one night. The breakfast staff were NOT good - the tables were not cleaned, the food and plates were cold - it would have been a good breakfast if the food were hot ! Sue11 October 2010
3.0 star ratingIf you book it for the price we did then its good value, but not if you pay the full displayed price shown at the reception desk. The breakfast is disgusting. Although they say it is served until 11am at weekends, if you get there shortly before that time the food is stale, dry, and they won't top up anything that has run out, and the staff tell you off for not getting there earlier. By that time the bin is overflowing the floor with rubbish, the serving table is covered in spilt food and stains, there is no cutlery, the plates are dirty. I felt quite ill after my breakfast and wished I hadn't had anything to eat. It's a good value hotel if you get a cheap deal on the room, but skip the breakfast!01 December 2010
3.5 star ratingPleasant hotel away from the city centre. Good value for money. Large spacious corridors. Clean room. Good breakfast.Staff could have been more welcoming.17 December 2010

2.0 star ratingIt would have been a nice hotel if it was cleaner amd had been looked after a bit more. I stayed in the hotel a few years back it was clean the staff were lovely and we had hot water. This time i stayed staff wern't bothered when i checked in even though i got checked in early at 12 which i was happy about then i got to my room realised no hot water to get into the shower so i rang reception they said they will reset the boiler so waited 1hour but still no hot water. Then had to go down to reception tell them we still havent got hot water so they moved us to a second room which was on the other end of the hotel it was annoying as we had to carry all our luggage. As we got to the second room it had dirty stains on the wall and the shower was mouldy but we had hot water i was so fed up the rest of the room was ok. The first room had wine spilt on the floor it was freezing in the room even with the heater on that didnt seem safe as it was moving the shower was mouldy aswel and it was a tiny room compared to what we got after. If i could i would definatly ask for my money back not hapy at all and i would not recommend it to anyone unless staff decide to make the effort and all the rooms get a make over!!!Sam09 February 2012

2.0 star ratingVery dated, very basic facilities, defiantly not value for money, was not impressed with the "danger, high voltage" fuse boxes which were powering the outside hotel sign ( in full view) along with fuse switches along the wall which lit up the room at night room 42616 April 2012
