2.5 star ratingThe architecture of this building is something to see. I think the hotel has great pottential, but it requires some serious cleaning! Not only day to day cleaning requires more attention but also the overall requires attention. What a shame to let such a lovely place deteriorate.Judith25 October 2011
3.5 star ratingVery impressive entrance to the hotel and dining area / bar.The room was very dissappointing for a 4 star hotel.15 May 2012
4.0 star ratingStayed one night after John Bishop show. Was impressed by reception and general "helpfulness" of staff. The Hotel is clearly very good and the room was very large. It is showing signs of being tired and dated but overall reflects the history of the building. Would vertainly stay again but it is not a cheap option.Mike H02 October 2012
5.0 star ratingIt is a stunning piece of architecture , steeped in history of old , it has been beautifully restored to the point of where they would be allowed too, bearing in mind if they were to have replaced the windows it would not have held its fabulous character of its day. It is huge and you will enjoy the pursuit of finding your room without getting lost.It is clean , it is staffed by friendly staff , it is what you pay for .This hotel is a city center hotel hence that is what you get , the noise of the city but hey what the hell it was a one nighter. 4.5 star ratingVery easy no fuss with the booking prosess the hotel was stunning and easy access to the palace theater and to Manchester We had trouble find the car park they use and then when we got in the the hotel we was given a room below reception so we had no view at all it was like we was in the basement also the shower would not get hot and it leaked on to the bathroom floor Anonymous 24 March 2014
4.5 star ratingThe Hotel was a beautiful building which was spottelss throughout. The staff where all very friendly and professional and the breakfast was excellent, the hotel was close to attractions and easy to find and i would definitely recommend to others.Room was a little small for the cost of the stay.IE £152 but no complaintsAnonymous 20 May 2014
3.5 star ratingGreat location.A bit tired.Anonymous 21 May 2014
4.0 star ratingLovely old building. Bar snacks finish at 10pm. Theatres end at 9.30 pm. So why no food/snacks available post show = ridiculous. No room service menu at main reception or in bedroom. Phones didn't work so had to go back down to reception to ask what we could have. Poor poor situation. No fried food after 11pm - what? Is this a hotel or workhouse????? Not impressed. Very shoddy and staff couldn't give a damn either. My room was next to the railway line too - although I don't mind noise. (Bizarre I know!!). Anonymous 15 October 2014
