5.0 star ratingUnfortunately I find the beds slightly uncomfortable as if the springs are sticking up. I found this the same in the Britannia Portland Rd26 April 2009
3.5 star ratingVery pleasant reception staff on checking in and out. Hotel right in the town centre so easy access to all shops and the railway.Lots of students in this hotel playing loud music in their room, and large group of 13 year olds running round until 3am. No acknowledgement by restaurant staff when wanted an evening meal so walked out and went somewhere else. Very26 May 2009
4.0 star ratingcouldnt get more centralthe budget rooms have no windows. The air con was to noisy to sleep with so it meant a bad sleepRF19 July 2009

4.5 star ratingthe staff on check in and check out were extremely courteous and professional. the lifts were very slow on all ocassions that i used them additionally, the lighting in my room was poor and there was very little cetnral lighting and two of my four lamps in the room would not work. 19 October 2009
2.0 star ratingStaff were accommodating when it came to us changing rooms. they upgraded us to a room with a window free of chargebefore our booking the room I called the hotel directly to confirm the room actually was as advertised.... no window! the receptionist confirmed this and stated the rooms are large and fully air conditioned. this was not the case, the room was run down, small stuffy and poorly ventilated, with useless air conditioning. this they were clearly aware of because the room had stored in it a couple of portable fans, which took up what little spare space avail and too noisey to use at night. this hotel is not up to easyjets usual standard of hotels avail on their website.29 October 2009
2.5 star ratingThe room I was given initially had not been cleaned but the staff were quick to give me an alternative. As above07 December 2009

4.0 star ratinghotel rooms need decorating and a lick of paint, main hotel door very stiff.21 December 2009

2.5 star ratingGood location, large reception. We knew the room had no window & the price was competitive but it was a depressing room with dripping taps in the bathroom. Would pay more for a window next time. Took a while to check in as only 1 person on the desk (5pm on a thurs).10 May 2010

4.0 star ratingWell situated. Exactly as advertiseed. Reasonable choice for a budget stay.Would not pay full price for this. Had a hiccough with the booking - hotel had me down for 4 nights, I had pre-paid for 5. I was told to sort it out myself with the booking agent, which used up all the credit on my mobile as I had to hold so long to get to speak to someone. I really feel that since I had a receipt in my hand confirming that I had paid for 5 nights the hotel could have checked with their agents themselves. The agents are, after all, authorised by the hotel to act for them.panjo5219 February 2012
5.0 star ratinggreat location. room was exel value for money ,was very dubious about staying after reading reviews but now glad we stayed....ok little mould on bath side couple rips in wall paper but bed was comfortable room was clean price and location staff was good what more do you want for £24 per night for 2 people ???tina mark24 March 2012

5.0 star ratingI really enjoyed my stay, the hotel was very clean and staff where very friendly xAnonymous 18 March 2014
2.5 star ratingRoom was clean, staff friendly Bathroom a bit tatty . I need a reliable internet connection and this was the worst I have come across in a modern hotel. The price was too high for the quality of the hotel. I normally stay at another nearby hotel (Full that night) which is half the price and same room quality with better food and internet connection. Breakfast was a bit dry as it had been out on the buffet for a while.Anonymous 11 May 2014
2.5 star ratingRoom ok, staff okbathroom was tatty, breakfast was awful, internet worst I have come across in a hotel, Overpriced compared to other hotels. Anonymous 13 June 2014
3.0 star ratingGood location, bargain price, easy check in and outThe room had no window, which we were aware of, but the air con didn't work so room was seriously hot and oppressive, didn't sleep a winkAnonymous 09 June 2014
4.0 star ratingyou pay cheaply - then you will get the lowest room - a room without no window. we booked a triple and there was plenty of room. the windows needed cleaning . The breakfast was lovely. Bacon eggs etc., hotel very very central and that is what we needed. such a great base hotel. Hotel is far from the Hilton but when it is somewhere that you only want to put your head down - then this is the hotel. There were pilots and cabin staff staying here for their 1 night - so must be okthere wasnt any really. some places smelt a bit musty.... could do with a makeover. I have a look at the executive rooms and they had newer carpets but would say their room was any bigger than ourstracey - travel agent08 September 2014

2.5 star ratingcentral location for Manchester cityDust, carpet threading old furniture the hotel needs TLC. The constant traffic of noise from the street and in the hall meant that we had a poor night sleep. You also have to pay to use the swimming pool! which also needs TLCstrictly07 February 2017
