4.5 star ratingThe renovated rooms are absolutely beautiful. We felt right at home. The front desk staff (Emma and Gillian), the Concierge desk (John & John) and the breakfast staff were all extremely helpful and courteous. Once the renovations are complete it will return to being a beautiful hotel. The food was not 4 star quality. We ordered room service the first night, but the steak pie was terrible. The meat was not tender and lots of fat. Neither my mother nor I could eat it. That was a waste of money. If the food had been better it might have encouraged us to eat in the restaurant in the evening. Although there were 3 of us booked in the family room, Housekeeping continually left only 2 sets of towels. I had to phone several times to have more brought up. 31 October 2008
4.0 star ratingWell situated, very clean hotel.Minibar is missing from most of the rooms, in 2008 ! Electric plug for shaver was not working in the bathroom. I went down to reception to ask what can we do, the answer was that because they do not just now have adapters that I asked to be able to shave in the room, I should go to a shop nearby to by one for myself ! Nobody asked my room number, so that electirician could repair it, whenever it would br possible. It was 832, just for your info.24 November 2008

4.0 star ratingRooms emaculate, had a lovely evening at a funtion within the Hotel. The hotel was exceptionally warm, The Air Conditioning did not appear to be working in the bedrooms, and only able to open one window about 2 inches. We had it on the lowest possible setting but it was unbearably hot we complained several times about it, even during the night as we were unable to sleep. initially we were offered an alternative room, but as we were just going in to a function that was not practical and would have made us late and caused great inconvience and I suspect would not have been any cooler. Other guests attending the same funtion were complaining too.Staff friendly and polite!28 April 2009

3.0 star ratingGood location, friendly staff, good facilitiesWe had a room with threadbare carpets, holes and stains on the upholstry, threadbare carpets and torn wallpaper in the corridors.Poor lighting in room several light bulbs missing! 4.5 star ratingOur room on the 7th floor was bliss, only trouble was our next door neighbour on new years' night had a ghetto blaster going, I rang the front desk for a good 10 minutes without an answer, so we had to go downstairs in my pyjamas and ask the gentleman why he had not answered the phone, he did not give me any reasonable answer, so I told him that we would like to be moved if the noise was not turned off. an hour or so later the noise was turned off, and immediately after that the fire alarm went off, everyone in the hotel especially us and people on the eight floor has to walk down these flight of stairs ( I have Rheumatoid Arthritis) to stand outside in the cold , this ruined my night of sleep, I wondered if a refund is necessary, and would we want to return to this hotel again or recommend it to anyone?. after all we were supposed to be there for 5 restful nights.we had to ask for an up-grade at £10 per night extra ,as when we checked into our room on the 5th floor, the double bed was much smaller that the one we have at home and the room was much too small.21 January 2010
5.0 star ratingA lovely hotel in a great central location for all the city centre amenities. Will definitely stay here again when we revisit Glasgow.Thought that a free drink in the bar the following evening for the inconvienience of the fire alarm evacuation on the Sat night at 4am!!!Chris, Halifax03 February 2010

3.0 star ratingVery disappointed with facilities ... Bar was closed plus only the pool was open in health suite, NO sauna or steam room. I appreciate the hotel was have some renovations ... however a pre warning would have been appreciated. When on breaks we always choose accommodation which includes the use of leisure facility … this was the main reason for choosing this hotel, if we had known of the closures we would have booked elsewhere. 4.5 star ratingReception were very nice on arrival. We were all given a hot cookie each, but not before checking for nut allergies. Room was lovely and spacious and pillows/beds were soooo comfortable. Would stay again. Little bit of a queue when waiting to handover door fobs but reception staff dealt with this professionally and offered free parking for my wait.dmce13 December 2016
