The Tryp Gran Via is situated in the heart of Madrid literally on the main shopping street and within walking distance from all the city's main attractions such as the Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, and the Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen museums, it is surrounded by many shops, restaurants, museums, bars and a good nightlife. The hotel has a traditional facade, with corner balconies, pretty cornices and balustrade. Its buffet breakfast is served in the cafe-bar where Ernest Hemingway wrote his account of the Spanish Civil war in 1936,its 174 rooms are elegantly decorated to a contemporary style with elegant blue toned bedspreads and curtains and offer all the modern facilities such as satellite TV, modem connection, phone and a full bathroom with hairdryer. 3.5 star ratingThe location is perfect.I lost one importnat item, but the front desk or the house keeping didn't give me any feedback. By the , the price on the website is fake!!!! The hotel count on EUROS, but the amount count on the website is USD, so that I paid 1.4 times to the hotel. It is a rediculous mistake!!!goddy10 October 2012
