Hotel Information

The  Mayorazgo is a Castilian hotel with a "castizo" touch in the decoration that makes guests feel in every moment they are in Madrid, and it is a project realised step by step with themed rooms. It is situated in the Gran Via, the heart of Madrid and the historical, cultural, shopping and entertainment centre. Thanks to its privileged location, guests can visit emblematic places such as the Plaza de España, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace and the Madrid of the Austrias as well as the Art Triangle - the Prado Museum, the Reina Sofia Museum and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.

4.0 star ratingWaron omfraag in het Nederlands? Nice hotel, generally very clean but......definitely needs a new hall carpet throughout - would transform it28 October 2008
3.5 star ratingWell situatedThe restaurant has no atmosphere/music. The pianist should have started at 7.30pm but arrived about 10.00pm on one night only, he was obviously just a student and not professional. I, personally, found the displays of ivory around the public areas distasteful.05 November 2008
3.5 star ratingThe communal areas of the hotel were beautiful. It was very ornate and typically Spanish. The bar area was extremely comfortable. Staff were very friendly. The room beared no resemblance whatsoever to the photograph on the website. Although the room was clean and had everything required it was VERY "tired" and in need of refurbishment.18 November 2008
4.5 star ratingService & breakfast good. Pleasant comfortable lobby with sofas. Have stayed here previously and will definitely stay here again.Mattresses hard and uncomfortable (this seems to be the norm in Madrid hotels). Airconditioning arctic or off only. Decor slightly dated but of good quality when it was done.Tony Brighton22 June 2009
4.0 star ratingIt is in a good location and has a good welcomong and easy atmosphereThe breakfast was not particularly appetising and was'nt used preferring Starbucks close by.14 October 2009
4.5 star ratingWe have stayed at this hotel on a number of visits and are likely to return again. The breakfast is good with plenty to choose from and beats getting ready to go out and find a suitable place. Whilst being close enough to Gran Via noise has not been a problem. With luggage we can carry, we find we can take the Metro from Barajas and walk from Plaza de Espana. There are a couple of play areas in the parks just across Plaza de Espana. The Reception staff are professional and courteous. We find the beds rather hard, but we found this was also the case in other Spanish hotels. The television has little for young children, only cartoons in the morning. The Family Channel was showing Harry Potter VI, not suitable for young children. We realise the hotel is a little "tired" but the prices reflect this.Brighton, England22 February 2010
