3.0 star ratingSituated well.No help from the staff on where topark, I spent two hrs driving around the city with my wife looking for a place to park when the car park was less than 100 mts away. One of the staff did help after two hrs point out where to park.30 September 2008
3.5 star ratingA good central location, at a competitive priceOne of the rooms had no outward facing window, and no air conditioning. Breakfast was rather basic26 September 2008
3.0 star ratingGreat location for tourists Easy to get to from airport using public transport Reception staff friendly and helpful Room a decent size Room has a safeBreakfast was disgusting - poor quality and choice Breakfast staff abrupt and unfriendly Walls of hotel were covered in something like dust or some sort of residue that marked your clothes when accidentally brushed againt. No air con in rooms - we had to open our windows and as our room was facing the main street the noise levels were very high. The one and only lift was small and slow.24 September 2008
2.5 star ratingGreat location in city centre with easy access to metro and 30 mins by underground from airport. Only ?2 from airport to hotel via underground.Due to central locatio nand lack of air conditioning. In summer it must be extremely hot and noisy whilst inlate September it was simply very noisy. Madrid stays awake until 5 am with people shouting and laughing and cars honking their horns. Great for a night or 2 but it was really hard to sleep by the 3rd night.01 October 2008

3.5 star ratingStaff were pleasant and helpful. I asked for a quiet room. We were allocated one that was fairly quiet, but the shower didn't work. We were transferred to another room, which was apallingly noisy.02 November 2008

5.0 star ratingWhen we arrived to the hotell we were told that there were 50 inglishmen staying there at the time and they were making a lot of noice. If we wanted we could stay but they also offered us to trasfer us to another hotel without extra costs. We decided to go to the other hotel. The other hotel was a four star hotel, with incredible breakfast (all included in our price that we paid from the beginning). They even refounded the taxi for going from one place to the other. Extremely professional and well handled.20 March 2009

5.0 star ratingGreat location in the heart of Madrid. Rooms stay cool even in heat of day, plus the history of the hotel adds to the ambience of it all (1862). Staff was helpful and spoke English (so my bad Spanish wasn't a problem). Restaurant was great, fast service and good food ( you could tell by the locals there).Elevator (lift) wasn't always operating at its best; bar down street was noisy (but hey, it's Spain and part of the local flavor) as I heard it from my room.Gary29 June 2013
