4.0 star ratingHotel is very convenient for Gatwick airport. Just 5 minutes walk through enclosed walkway. We did not realise that we could have parked in hotel area too which would have been convenient, but we were just a short bus ride away in another provider's car park. We were able to check in the night before we travelled which was very relaxing.Wiring hanging down in bathroom under washbasin area. It looked like it might have been left over from the job but very disconcerting. Also one of the room sockets was not working. We would have liked more than one sachet of green tea, so we could both have a cup of this.20 November 2008
3.5 star ratingI think an airport hotel should have a 24 hour coffee shop for light meals or snacks as guests will arrive round the clock. There is a limited room service menu but the cost is very expensive. We arrived at 11:30 and all the eating places were closed only bars were open. We went to Marks and Spencers in the N Termninal and bought some food. Seems to me that the hotel caters only for business travellers. lighting in the room was very dark. There was no small table and chairs only a fixed desk. The position of the air inlet vent was above the bed creating unpleasant down draughts.31 January 2009

4.0 star ratingAs regular visitors to Sofitel hotels all over the world we were shocked there were no tea bags on the hospitality tray and after a 15 hour flight we just wanted to have a cup of tea and sleep - we do not drink coffee. We checked in at 10.00pm and the following morning (at 10.00am) - again with no tea bags - we were getting ready to check out at 10.45am and the television service was turned off. We paid over £100.00 for 12 hours in a hotel and couldn't get a cup of tea or watch TV - not upto your usual standards and very poor value. 06 March 2009

4.5 star ratingIt's proximity to LGW is perfect as well as the easy connections via the South Terminal to the surrounding Cities. The rooms are very clean, with comfortable beds.The Gym was closed, the TV in the room is very old with the signal to some channels not working as well as no signal for the radio stations. 14 July 2010
4.5 star ratingThe rooms were amazing: we were given adjoining which really helped. We found the website confusing when trying to make the reservation, but room control helped us. The hotel was right opposite the Marketplace, an excellent position for accessing restaurants and entertainment. The character breakfast was brilliant: we expected crowds but there was plenty of time to eat and enjoy breakfast.We had requested a crib in the room, but this was denied despite it being on the paperwork and my having the name of the person I spoke to about it a few days before arrival. Reception insisted that we go to the room to call housekeeping. We had been up and travelling 18 hours by then and the 18 month old was exhausted. By the time housekeeping arrived she was asleep in the emergency travel cot we had packed, but this was a bad start 24 December 2012
2.5 star ratingAnnoying test alarm during midday. No electricity, hot water, between 11:00 - 15:00 local without information during the booking. Staff could only apologies. I would expect more from a SOFITEL. Room was dark, with windows inside the lobby area. Mr Parker06 February 2017
