2.5 star ratingWhen we had to leave for the train station the next morning one of the men working for the hotel offered to drive us to the station and didn't take money for it which was a rarity in Morocco we would learn in the days ahead.I had arranged prior to my arrival for a pickup from the airport which was confirmed via email by the manager of the hotel. Upon arrival there was no driver, I had to make 2 calls to the hotel to remind them of the arrangment and it was quite clear that they had forgotten! When the driver did finally arrive 1 1/2 hours later he tells us that taxis in Morocco are all on strike! Now wouldn't that be more an incentive for the hotel manager to ensure the guests actually arrive to the hotel?! We get to the hotel after 9pm and learn they have not restaurant for dinner and we had to be escorted to a nearby restaurant as the hotel is situated in a very seedy part of the city and quite clearly not safe to walk the deserted streets alone. After dinner we were escorted by 2 male workers from the restaurant which was appreciated but still very unsettling.02 May 2009
