3.0 star ratingIf you are coming for a boozy weekend with a group its great for somewhere to lay your head in a comfy bed and eat a good breakfast if you are coming for a relaxing weekend dont bother ,no bath,no robes,no ironing board,no air con ,no wardrobe,no curtains just blinds so light at 4.30 am !!!!!!! bed too short to stretch out ,tiny tv and super noisy our room was opposite a busy busy bar which didnt close till 2 am and street below was filled with screaming men and women till 4.00 am !!! not great !!kwoody28 June 2011

4.5 star ratingThe hotel was clean and tidy.Staff were lovely. The hotel is situated close to everything,the town centre about a 10 minute walk,also close to a few attractions.Even the train station was walkable. Possibly needed more space for socks underwear t-shirts i.e a draw or two more maybe.Also maybe somewhere where you can put a suitcase or travel bag out of site. 11 September 2012

5.0 star ratingStayed at hotel for one night. Rooms were clean and tidy, a iron was required asked recoept ion and shortly after one was sent to the room. Staff were friendly and as didn't no the area they have us a map circles places we might like to visit and have us directions. The hotel is just a short walk to the centre and to train station great location. The next day we were able to store out bags whilst went out shopping. Spongebob09 April 2013
4.0 star ratingGood, clean friendly staffThe bed for the children was very uncomfortable, we had to request a extra quilt for the children to lay on, it was a sofa bed. Car parking charge was dissapointing having to pay whilst staying at the hotel.16 April 2013
5.0 star ratingThe staff were really nice and the rooms were immaculate.. the cleaners arranged out things when they came into clean it was so nice. Me and my boyfriend went for the weekend and we wanted somewere to eat in the evening and we had 3 4 recommendations from the reception staff and we were very pleased. the hotel was amazing and really nice id recommend this hotel to my friends and family and i would deffinatley go again.if i had one complaint it was that if you wanted the window open at night or in the evening it was quite noisey and and loud.Ashleigh30 April 2013

4.0 star ratingNice clean rooms, comfy bed, friendly helpful staff (particularly the barman!), good location Room overlooking main road very noisy, woken up by buses, lorries and in particular binmen who came 3 times between 5:30-7 (even with windows shut). Unfortunately had a very poor night's sleep so if we did return it would be in a room at the back of a hotel. Otherwise room score would've got a much better score. No free parking, costs £10 or £11 for 12 hours with no option to extendpaulmason0324 September 2013

5.0 star ratingour stay on the 18th feb 2017 was outstanding at hotel 53 will stay here again wasn't far from the centre staff are very friendly room was amazing really enjoyed our stay I really cant think of any but if I wanted to be really picky I would say its a shame there is limited parking at hotel but in all fairness there is a pay and display carpark at the top of the road and its only £9 for 24hrs I don't think that is bad at all so don't let the car parking put you off its really not that big of a deal thanks again for a great stay in York :)Colin & Vicky21 February 2017
3.5 star ratingI think the hotel was clean with lovely rooms, The staff were friendly and helpful.I think the price was expensive to say we didn't even get breakfast included in the price. I also don't think we should have been charged for parking our car with staying at the hotel and paying what I considered quite a lot of money for one night.Anonymous 09 November 2016
