Hotel Information

The hotel is located in a quiet place in the heart of Lisbon, near Praça dos Restauradores, close to Lisbon's main shopping area, and right by many of the best sightseeing spots in the city. Public transportation links are a few steps from the hotel, putting the whole city within easy reach. 100 modernly decorated rooms, the upper ones with views of St. Jorge Castle. In the restaurant Taberna da Glória, both the ambience and the food are excellent, a charming cosy place. This is a non-smoking hotel.

1.5 star ratingThere are no positive comments regarding our stay in the hotel. It is my intention to write to the portuguese tourist Board with strong recommendations that a visit is carried out to access the cleanliness and the poor state of repair the hotel is in.Room was filthy, bath contained hair from previous occupany and wash basin was not clean. room was bare with tired old distressed furniture. Reception staff in morning of 12th were discourteous and rude.No communication was entered into. He took our keys and walked away. Even the Hotel porter looked in surprise.17 November 2008

3.5 star ratingEasily accessible to the centre of Lisbon and public transport. Hotel staff very helpful. Only that we shared the room with hotel resident beetles/cockroaches who lived under the wardrobe... but saying that they are local insects and nothing to horrendous. 30 January 2009

3.0 star ratingThe rooms were a little old fashioned, but everything was kept spotlessly clean. Breakfast was adequate for the price we paid, but there was no fresh fruit or salad available. We had a meal in the restaurnant on arrival, and the service and quality of the meal was excellent. Portion size was also very generous. The hotel is in a very convenient location for the metro.We stayed in early September 2009. The hotel appeared to be in the middle of renovations. Our room was very hot, as the air conditioning was not working, and when I reported this at reception, I was told that it was not yet switched on!! Nothing was done about my complaint. The only toiletry in the bathroom was a small bar of soap. The hotel was noisy at night with a constant whirring noise audible in the rooms.UK resident16 September 2009
