3.5 star ratingRoom provided was a disabled room yet neither of us is disabled! Clean but very sparse although under the beds had not been hoovered in months. Breakfast was very good, staff very friendly and ideal for the majority of tourist sites, especially the castle22 March 2009
5.0 star ratingOn arrival, there was a problem with our room. The lady at reception was very friendly and professional and sorted the problem without any fuss. Very pleased with the hotel overall. Clean, warm and comfortable, friendly staff and great breakfast. Some noise from trams outside, but hotel's central position is well worth it. Would highly recommend Hotel Royal and would happily return.None13 May 2009
3.5 star ratingExcellent location, nr the castle. We had one of the corner rooms with a 9Mx9M bedroom and ajoining living room and additional washroom which was excellent. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast had sufficient choice for most people. The restaurant is not expensive, but the quality of the meals can be mixed, and there is an over use of cabbage in meals for a lot of non-Poles in the hotel.RichT21 June 2009

4.5 star ratingthe staff were very friendly and helpfull.the helped us to book excursions outwith Krakow to Auchwitz.the staff in the restaurant were also very friendly. the hotel itself is charming in an "old days" . it lies close to the centre of Krakow and to Wawel hill.our room was at the front of the hotel and overnight it can be quite noisy on the street.03 December 2009
4.5 star ratingThe hotel was quite basic but more thanadequate for our needs. We paid a budget price and got good quality service, a clean room, a good breakfast selection and as we weren't spending much time in the hotel didn't care about the trivial details (slightly dated etc). Hotel restaurant was excellent - huge portions couldn't even finish half of my meal.Nothing really worth noting - it's not a luxury hotel, you get what you pay for.Tickletot05 January 2010
5.0 star ratingSecond visit to this hotel. Struggle to find negative points. Ideal location handy for the main square or the Jewish quarter and right at the foot of Wawel Castle. Rooms are clean spacious and full of character. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is very nice and always plenty to choose from hot and cold buffet. This part is difficult. The fridge didn't work in my room. But in the end this didn't bother me as it was cold outside so I just left my milk beers and a few snacks on the very large windowsill and it was fine. If you like watching tv on your hols then you will have to put up with only Polish channels. There is no CNN or News24. 17 January 2010
