This establishment is the first and only hotel in Singapore to be converted from a 1950s public housing building to the current one. The property is part of the project initiated by the National Heritage Board to making it one of the most emblematic accommodations in Tiong Bahru Heritage Trail. At this hotel, to provide guests with a memorable experience is one of its priorities. 3.0 star ratingThe staff were very friendly and helpful at all times from management through to cleaning staff. Length of time for breakfast was generous and food was always available and regularly topped up. This is a small hotel and quite old it appears to have had a sort of makeover but some time ago. Fresh towels provided each day.We stayed for a week, there was no wardrobe to hang clothes, nowhere in the room to put luggage for the week, had to live out of the suitcase, not impressed. Room was not as advertised, nowhere to sit and relax, not even a lounge area as an alternative to the room. Air conditioning was good in room but not so great in the rest of the hotel. Bathroom was not great, very small and very poor drainage in the shower requiring us to put towels down to soak up the water each day. Room and bathroom not well cleaned, particularly behind doors and under beds.31 October 2013
