A sense of nostalgia is evoked as you walk down the corridors of Hotel 1929, with a wide showcase of Black & White archival photos of the olden day Singapore from the early 20th century. It is now protected as a 'conservation' building, preserved for its historical architecture, which grows increasingly rare in modern Singapore. The boutique hotel consists of fiver conservation shop-houses built in 1929, and features 32 rooms decked in a mix of classic and retro vintage furniture. 1929 is located along the fringe of Chinatown, a 5 minute taxi ride from the heart of the business district and in the heart of vibrant Keong Saik Road.
