Hotel Information

This hotel enjoys a paradise location on the beaches of Varadero, on the northern coast of Cuba. It is less than 17 km from the city of Varadero and about 160 km from Cuba's capital Havana. The hotel is perfect for couples, families and groups thanks to the range of facilities on offer, including a bar, several restaurants, a nightclub, medical service and Internet corner. Guests are welcomed in the lobby with currency exchange. Other facilities include air conditioning, an auditorium, kids' club and bicycle hire.

4.0 star ratingThe staff was generally friendly. The grounds were clean and well-maintained. The staff at the main pool were able to provide entertaining activities and events for the guests in that area. The nightly shows were fairly entertaining. There were no beach towels available for an entire day. The resort information (signage, map, etc) is confusing and sometimes inaccurate (ie names of restaurants differ between signs and printed material and info given by staff). I found this confusing. They do not exchange traveller's cheques at the front desk which was a major inconvenience. I was looking forward to trying snorkeling but was surprised and disappointed to find out that the "included" snorkeling is only offered one day per week (Monday), so we could not take advantage of this activity. We were also unable to book an outside excursion that included snorkeling as it was sold out. And also we were unable to get reservations at the a la carte restaurants that we wanted. Perhaps if this could be pre-booked it would avoid disappointment. The resort's system of having to line up to make a restaurant reservation is time-consuming and inconvenient. I don't understand why they can't just take bookings over the phone as they do on cruise ships. 22 March 2012

2.0 star ratingNice pools, proximity to beach, wifi worked well. Bedrooms are a really good size Yuleisy in guest relations was excellent (the others were no help at all) Hotel manager saw me promptly on our last day - should've asked for her earlier in my stay Hotel doctors were greatFirst room had no shower attachment for the wall and no bath plug, plus air con did not work (either freezing cold or not on at all) - took 8 complaints and 4 days to get a room move, but which time I was ill (possibly due to air con issues). Things that were not good - but were expected - electricity and hot water not working on several days, hotel had several leaks when it rained - fixtures and fittings were in a poor state of repair. Lots of times unavailable on several days - e.g. lemonade, mint, chips Food quality was very poor - good range of items but lukewarm and overcooked. Stick with freshly cooked grill items or pizza from the snack bar. Japanese restaurant was good, others very averageAnonymous 07 November 2016
