5.0 star ratingGreat for our purpose with friendly, helpful staff.12 August 2008
3.5 star ratingExcellent publlic areas. Some refurbished rooms excellent. Check-in & Breakfast very goodI had an 'old' room. Small, poorly furnihed. Old TV with bad reception30 November 2008

2.5 star ratingThe staff were friendly and helpfulFor a vegetarian the breakfast was awful. Most of it was meat, what little was vegetarian, was cooked in fat that had not been changed since the hotel opened (it was caked in black). I was sick after eating it. The knock on effect of which is that I now I have a fever. The cereal selection was not at all interesting, indigestible uncooked rolled oats, cornflakes or frosties. No dried fruits or anything interesting to go with the cornflakes. If I have the misfortunes of having to stay there again,. I will 100% not have breakfast there. The room was so small you could barely find room to put out the ironing board.Fred01 March 2009

3.5 star ratingIt was all I needed for a leasure trip to newcastleEverything needed a "coupon" No leasure facilities in the hotel Option for the use of Newcatle Uni, however no pool therehammered21 July 2011
4.5 star ratingThe lobby and other public areas were very well maintained, or recently decorated. The room was more sizely than other reviews had led me to believe, but the room was exactly what was required for the night. The bathroom appeared 'tired' and had probably seen better days, however everything was still working and again it was what was required for the night.29 August 2011
3.5 star ratingHotel is in a great location, adjacent to Newcastle Central Station and within walking distance of all City Centre attractions and amenities. The room was quite small and no plug sockets located close to the bed which are useful when charging phones overnight.21 May 2013
3.5 star ratingThis has an impressive foyer but the rooms are fairly standard (think mid-low range chains i.e. Holiday Inn, Days Hotel etc). It is fine if location is your primary concern. It is noisy as a result of the location but not too terribly so. It's clean, the staff are pleasant and it was great for easy access to the train station - I had an early journey.Niamh20 June 2013
1.5 star ratingGood location. Good sized TVHotel were u helpful about a mistake in the dates despite contacting them shortly after booking, well in advance and when they had rooms available- as a result I will never book this hotel again. The rooms are poorly designed, lots of outside noise, lack air conditioning, poorly designed layout, the bed wasn't comfortable expensive room service addition of your eating alone (5 pounds on top of the food cost) In short, unhelpful in the event of an issue and in desperate need of a refurb.Navylad 28 July 2015
3.5 star ratingHotel is in the perfect place for everything, breakfasts are nice if you hit it right you might be able to get an egg or two without waiting agesI've been staying at this hotel every year for the last 20 years sometimes 2-3 times a year it's in a prime location but I'm now thinking of trying somewhere else as this hotel needs some updating, my recent stay was ok apart from the noise we were on the 2nd floor and all you can hear is the floors creaking and people coming in about 3 in the morning shouting about, The morning after we asked for a room move which we got to the top floor which was much quieter but this room the towel radiator wasn't working and the shower was literally trickling out so it took forever to have a shower and at almost £100 per night i except a lot more.Nick22 February 2017
