3.5 star ratingQuite stylish period design Hotel, Decor dated and need of painting in some areas, could easily be improved. Room at front of Hotel was quite noisy23 September 2008
4.0 star ratingGreat to find a modern room in a traditional building Free WiFi was an unexpected bonus and made me think of the chain positively - like they weren't trying to milk me for every penny.09 October 2008
3.5 star ratingvery friendly staff and beautiful classic hotel, great breakfast, excellent locationtoo small bed, not set up for 2 persons as ordered, poor nights sleep undermined the positives20 February 2011
3.0 star ratingA lovely comfortable roomEggs turned out not to be free-range so I didn't have them. I find this v disappointing. I think free-range eggs in hotels should be industry standard. Also, the spa was being cleaned at the time so we couldn't use it which was v disappointing. Croutons12 May 2011

4.5 star ratingExcellent sevice. Room was cleaned everyday nice and early and fridge replemished also every day. Staff were polite and the gym/spa was a welcomed bonus! Would definetly stay at this hotel again. My room was on first floor and the walk and the 3 small flights of stairs too get to the room was too much ;-(HappyGuy25 August 2011
4.5 star ratingA nice cosy single room. Nice to have a large single/small double bed, rather than the tiny single you still get in some hotels. Love the free water, kit-kat and orange juice! The radiator made a very loud bang every now and again...loud enough to wake me up a couple of times. Breakfast is okay (especially for the price) although I've never been offered tea or coffee, even though all the menus state that these will be brought to the table. I think they should either give people clear access to their own tea and coffee or make sure that everyone gets asked what they want as soon as they sit down. Scrappy05 March 2012

4.0 star ratingStaff were very friendly and helpful. The room I stayed in looked as if it had been recently renovated and was clean and comfortable. Only stayed one night and didn't eat there so can't comment on any of the other facilities or the food.23 September 2013
