5.0 star ratingGreat Hotel - rooms were of an excellent standardTo gain internet access, you had to have your own laptop. It would be great if a couple of terminals were provided elsewhere in the hotel for those travellers who do not travel with laptops.04 September 2008
4.5 star ratingGood location, friendly and helpfull staff. Our room 329 had what we would describe as a small bathroom and also even though there was double glazing, the noise from the bars on the other side of the water made sleeping difficult.12 September 2008

4.5 star ratingbeautiful room. large plasma tv and coffee maker. we managed to arrange an early check in at 9am and the hotel held our bags until 3pm. excellent location, we were able to explore all of Bristol from the hotel on foot.could not complain about anything.10 June 2009
3.5 star ratingGreat location on the harbour. Easy access to restaurants and bars, without being so close as to be noisy.Breakfast disorganised. Table allocation haphazard, buffet food not replenished quickly enough.Shug40207 July 2009

4.0 star ratingThe hotel has central location and I was in a room that had a lovely view overlooking the harbour. The car park next to the hotel is convienient and no hassle to park and once you have registered it is easy to have access to the car park from the hotel. The breakfast was very good, lots of choice and the cooked food was really noce. Del03 August 2010

3.0 star ratingBreakfast was nice, with a good spread of options available in the dining room overlooking the river. The staff were very friendly and helpful, ordering us taxis when needed, storing our luggage and organising the Sunday paper for my partner.I feel like this hotel would have been quite nice when it first reopened after its renovation, however, it has not been maintained very well. There were stains on the fabric lamp shades in our room and on most carpets, wallpaper was peeling in corridors, the whole place needs a good spruce up.weekender22 March 2011

3.5 star ratingConvenient location, and staff were generally friendly and helpful. The live music was a nice touch. The room seemed quite small for a double, and breakfast was fairly basic considering the cost. One of the windows wouldn't close properly, so I was disturbed by revellers on the street below for most of the night. It also meant that the room was a little cold. 19 July 2011
5.0 star ratingThe staff were polite, friendly and efficiant. They talked to us about our stay on check and helped advise us on what to do whilst there. I was staying with my friend who had forgotten her phone charger, 'Steve' on reception at the time phoned around and got a chrger sent to our room to use during our stay, fantastic! To top it all off, you can have breakfast in bed, which is perfect the morning after a fun night before! The location of the hotel is also good as you are right in the centre so no need for the extra pay out of taxis. Parking is validated by the hotel so that is another expence you dont't have to worry about. Great stay, Great times. Thank you all.19 July 2011

5.0 star ratingTravelled to Bristol for our uk honeymoon getaway with our baby who turned 1 while on holiday. Every member of staff we encountered at The Bristol Hotel were kind and helpful, especially the blonde waitress in the restaurant who became our little boys best buddy for the weekend! We asked if we could check in early as we had got an earlier train than we thought we would and not only was this not a problem but we were shown a choice of rooms by the kind man on the desk. Being on the first floor was nice with a baby and it also meant a good connection to the free wi-fi. Dined in the restaurant in the evening and at breakfast, great staff (especially lady mentioned above) and great food, comfy padded high chairs for baby, great food and lovely atmosphere, plus it has an awesome riverside view! Would definitely stay here again when we return to Bristol, one of the best hotels i've stayed in,free maps at front desk a bonus too. LiLewis01 February 2012
5.0 star ratingRoom was excellent - very clean and comfortable. Facilities were also excellent and staff were friendly and polite - nothing was too much trouble. This is our second stay at the hotel and we will definitely return again - right on the waterfront with lots of bars and restaurants within a short walking distance. Perfect for a weekend away.No negative points to make.weekender14 February 2012
4.5 star ratingVery friendly and professional staff on front desk at check-in and check-out. We arrived earlier than the check-in time but this was not a problem and we were provided with our room straightaway. Superior room was very clean, bright and spacious and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and included in the room rate. Breakfast Manager was friendly and efficient and buffet breakfast was of a high standard with a wide range of hot and cold foods. We liked the fact that breakfast was accompanied by piano playing in the background.Hotel room was very hot when we arrived, I think the heating had been left on but was fine once we turned this off. Nice touch to have a Nespresso machine in the room but unfortunately the plug did not fit into the socket as there was insufficient room beneath the socket and desk top to fit the plug - we had to move the machine next to the bed to be able to use it, which was a bit laborious but the coffee was lovely!Annemarie14 February 2012
5.0 star ratingI was a single disabled traveller, very worried how i would manage until i arrived. The staff were excellent and genuinely happy to help without being asked. Free parking at weekends amazing and n ot many other hotels offer that. the breakfast in my room was divine and excellent quality. Saturday night jazz band was excellent and lobby area very atmospheric. Close to restuarants, bars and clubs across the bridge, though i didn't venture that far. I will definately stay here again. the bed was really comfy and freebie spa treatments lovely to use. There was noise from the clubs across the river but i had the best view and could live with it. out of the hotels control there was alot of noise from fellow guests, who came and went all night, shouting and running down corridors slamming doors. this was the only negitive of my stay and you could have that problem everywhere.singleguest07 February 2012
4.0 star ratingBooked late for late arrival at hotel in city centre with parking. Ticked all the boxes and room was comfortable and breakfast good. Receptionist in the morning excellent upon checking out with some good advice.06 February 2012
4.5 star ratingA lovely hotel and we would definately recommend. Staff very good, coffee machine in the room anice touch!07 February 2012
4.5 star ratingThe hotel staff were very welcoming, car parking in the NCP next door was free as long as your had your ticket validated. The room that we stayed in was extremely clean and the maid service excellent, it was decorated very tastefully. The breakfast was ample. Our room 640 was quite noisy, this was due to the extraction fans outside our room.19 February 2012
5.0 star ratingI would to thank all the staff that provided us with wonderful service and excellent food. Rooms were really nice and i had a choice of a smoking room. Very nice. N/a03 March 2012

5.0 star ratingFrom the minute we booked in till we booked out all was perfect .We had beautiful views from our room the bed was great had the best nights sleep when staying in a hotel. We are looking forward to returning in the near futureOnly negative was the people in next room had radio on early next morning very loud which woke us up but other than people having no respect for others no problems28 February 2012

4.5 star ratingWe had a standard double room which was immaculate and had all the amenities we could want for our stay. Breakfast was included and was a typical all you can eat buffet. There was free parking available at the NCP next door which made this a great value for money weekend stay in Bristol.31 July 2012

4.5 star ratingGreat location, car park useful01 May 2013
3.0 star ratingEverything was positive except1 negative review. When we checked in we were offered a river view room for an extra payment per night (£30 instead of £50) which we declined. When we got to our room we had a river view room anyway which was lovely, but I do wonder what I would have paid an extra £30 per night for if I'd said yes to a River View. 14 June 2013
3.5 star ratingGreat location. Reception staff helpful.Rooms very warm. Room service took ages (about 50 minutes) and it was a Caesar salad! 19 July 2013
4.5 star ratingThe staff were amazing - I have stayed in many hotels and this hotels staff had the right degree of friendliness and professionalism. They were all excellent from reception, bar staff and restaurant staff. Well done. The location and parking facilities were also superb.Check the size of rooms - ours was tiny but our friends was a lovely size. Poppy 2130 July 2013
4.0 star ratingExcellent breakfast. It can be a bit noisy as the walls are quite thin and the rooms either face the bars area or the main street. No sleepers neither gowns in the room.Cris12 November 2013

4.0 star ratingA very hospitable and very clean stay for two nights. Food was good quality, but the grill menu was limited. Breakfast buffet was well cooked and hot, but the quality of the coffee was abysmal. Staff helpful and perhaps too plentiful ! The rather over-attentive staff at mealtimes was a little o.t.t..Anonymous 20 May 2017
