3.0 star ratingfantastic location, staff friendly and helpful, in particular a girl named Maria. Deperately needs updating. Brochure states recently been refurbished??!! I don't see where!!! Hallways very dingy and scruffy. Rooms not unclean but very old and tired. 14 February 2009

3.5 star ratingTwo things stand out about this hotel - the staff were excellent and the location could'nt be better for down town Santa Monica. The room was also very clean. While it's an older place it has a really nice charm about it and felt safe.Unfortunately the room I was in - 233 - was very noisy. There was what seemed like a large air con unit outside the window and that made what I would refer to as a constant racket - night and day. Other rooms may have been quieter but 233 was not that great re noise. Facilites in the room I was in were limited - whilst it had a bath it didn't have a fridge or tea and coffee making facilities.Anonymous 08 September 2016
