5.0 star rating	Good location. Friendy staff. Large bedroom.	Hig cost of food and drink compared to facilities outside. Because of this, restaurants in the hotel were rarely used. Rooms at front of hotel can experience noise from traffic. Beach was severely eroded during a tsunami and the sand has not yet been replaced - not the fault of the hotel.	paco86	28 February 2014

3.0 star rating	Nice ocean view, you can see the sunset. Good in terms of location, convenient to travel around.	Furniture in room is dusty, beach is ruined by horses, there is a nice sea view but an ugly beach, it shares the beach with Hard Rock Hotel so it does not have its own private beach. 4.0 star rating	First time at the Bayview Beach Resort. On a previous visit to Penang 15 years ago we stayed next door at what was the Casuarina but is now the Hard Rock Hotel. The Bayview is very impressive. When you enter the hotel your eyes immediately look upwards, such is the vista which confronts you. The rooms are arranged around a pentagonal structure forming a huge atrium, There are 2 glass elevators which transport guests to their rooms along with 2 other regular elevators. Rooms are clean & set out in the usual way that most hotels provide. There is an electronic in room safe together with flat screen TV, tea & coffee making facilities, ironing board hairdryer etc etc. All rooms have their own private balconies with small table & 2 chairs for those who want to relax outside without going downstairs. The pool is huge with 2 spa areas, a swim up bar & a special children's area. Check in was smooth & hassle free. This hotel is the last in a long line of hotels along Batu Ferringhi road & most of the Ã¡ction' ie night markets etc are about 1200 metres from the hotel. The local buses #'s 101 & 102 have stops just outside the Hard Rock Hotel for those who wish to travel into Georgetown. The most you will pay is about 2 RM (Ringitts) for the complete journey into Georgetown which takes about 40 minutes depending on traffic. Breakfast is plentiful if a little repetitivel but caters to most tastes both western & asian. If there is a negative to this hotel it is the fact that it is at the end of the line so to speak, & it allows smoking so our room was smokey / smelly. 3.5 star rating	The gardens and pool are beautiful and easy access to the beach. Nice breakfast	Our view from the room was the sewers and the kids playpool. There were ants in the room. The matteress was very hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom could do with updating and the fridge had not been cleaned. Also the door on the cupboard below tv was hanging off. 4.0 star rating	It has a great pool and the food is excellent. the staff once you treat them as human are just brilliant It is value for money and generally great.	the local council has chosen to put a grey water disposal line 50 meters out to sea right out front of the hotel. this means this is not a place where you go to spent time swimming in the sea or on the beach.
