2.5 star ratingThe hotel is ideally located in Nice near to the Place Messina. With the hotel being triangular shaped, our room was the smallest on our floor. The breakfast was very simple, tea or coffee, a glass of orange, a cousant and a bread roll with butter and jam and that was it, no cerial or yoghurt or ham, as other hotels offer in the area.Hotel Acantis08 June 2009

4.0 star ratingMy partner and i travelled on the 19th to 22nd of june. The hotel is right in the center of town,1min walk to bus stops and tram stops, very close to the old quater.its very close to restaurants, shops, bars and clubs.infact the is a restaurant opposite the hotel. The hotel is very basic and cheap, its a 1 star so dont expect more.My partner and i went for a weekend away for 3nites to celebrate my bday and fathers day,we enjoyed nice a lot.its 3min walk to the main bus station if you want to travel to monaco cannes by bus, very cheap 4euros per head.dont book a taxi from the airport take a bus 98 it takes u right into town and the hotel is just 3min walk its 4euros as well and its a 15min ride to the promenade de anglaise where u get off.breakfast is basic and you can go down and collect yours in a tray to eat in the bedroom(they offered to bring it up) This hotel is conveniently located, like us if you are going to use it as a place to lay your head for the nite(we always got back at 4.30am) and during the day you explore or go to the beach which is just 5min walk.....then YES its the hotel for you, staff were very nice and they spoke english.the room was very small as well as the bathroom....but as i said we didnt go to nice to stay in a hotel room we just wanted a place to lay our heads. They offered to clean the room whiles there on a daily basis, but since we were going to be the for just 3nites we opted not to.The is a safe down at reception to keep impt docs or money but you will have to pay 3.50euros a day.we didnt use it cos we thought it was not worth it.To sum up I will def use this hotel again if i ever go back to nice on a short break, becos of its location, value for money(£196.00 bed and breakfast for 3nites).will recommend this hotel to couples or friends or an individual on a short visit, wont be suitable for families or older people. Also just to mention its quite expensive in nice a pint of beer will cost you 7euros,wine glass 8euros incl tax and serv charge you will be looking at abt 18euro for a round of drinks.public transport is cheap so use that instead of taxi's or you will be sat in traffic for ages.hope this helpsbecause its right in the middle of town its a bit noisey when you leave your window opened. I wouldnt call this a negative because when the windows are closed you hear nothing, its well double glazed.it was 27 degrees when we went so we opened the windows when we were indoors becos it was very hot.as you are aware its a 1 star hotel so there are no fans or airconditioningDusky24 June 2009
1.5 star ratingit was well placed within NiceIt was the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in. The decorations and room facilities were appalling. The bathroom was tiny and disgusting - insufficient space even to use the toilet. The extraction was insufficient so that the whole room stank of damp. Absolutely horrendous.30 June 2009
4.5 star ratingThe night porter was very welcomimg, kindly, courteous and helpful. Was more than happy to deal with our requests. A perfect gentlemanNo air conditioning01 September 2009
4.0 star ratingThe hotel was clean, friendly and helpful. The situation of the hotel was really good, very central. My friend broke her foot while in Nice, but we were still able to enjoy sitting in the park with loads going on, and to get to the flower & veg market and the antique market. We had funThe room was small, which wasn't too bad, but the bathroom was only just manageable.08 October 2009
3.5 star ratingLocation-very good. Small balcony-fine. Lift-fine. Friendly and helpful staff. English speaking staff but also happy to 'let you have a go' with speaking FrenchReally only for those on a budgettezza09 December 2009
4.5 star ratingWell placed In centre of Nice near Place Massena and close to bus and tram routes-short walk to Old Nice and Promenade des Anglais. Friendly and attentive staff. Clean. Some refurbishment carried out in last year.No air conditioning and en suite facilities can be cramped but perfectly adequate. You would pay much more for these facilities so-on balance-really good value for money.Tezza01 July 2013
3.5 star ratingSuper location. Nice greeting on arrival. Super balcony with view of fountains. 24 hour reception. Left luggage. Lift. Good advice from staff. Rooms are really small but have everything you need. We knew that so no problem. Very cheap for quiet street in such a good location. The staff we met were young and enjoyed sitting on the steps outside with their friends chatting or smoking. We didn't mind as they were friendly. Very basic but clean and ideal for our budget. Some English language stations on TV? That goes for all hotels!Anonymous 27 September 2016
