Hotel Information

This modern hotel is situated in the popular holiday resort of Vilamoura, only a few steps from the casino and the internationally renowned marina. The lovely sandy beach is less than a minute, the resort centre with its large variety of restaurants, bars, pubs and shops is less than 5 minutes away. Several excellent golf courses are within easy reach, Faro International Airport can be reached within 30 minutes by car.

3.0 star ratingWell positioned for marina and resturants bars etc especially close to beach which is a bonus. Most of hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Bar drinks expensive more expensive that the surrounding bars and other hotels ( one which is 5 star)Pool area a bit tatty and sunbeds not enough of and they are very close to to each other. 5.0 star ratingWe found ampalius once again very friendly and welcoming, nothing at all to complain about, very clean and comfortable, we had a twin seaview with kitchenette, great selection of hot and cold food at breakfast and evening buffet. quite a few of the staff have been at hotel for some years and that says a lot for any hotel, we will certainly be back again, over all anyone not satisfied must be very hard to please. Small gripe, beds just a little too firm and low.30 May 2009
4.5 star ratingBrilliant location, seconds from the beach, 2 mins from Marina. Hotel rooms were of a high standard. Excellent housekeeping. Good facilities for cooking if required. Superb choice for breakfast. The pool area was only average but being so close to the beach that wasn't really an issue. That's the only negative thing I can say about the hotel.No complaints whatsoever05 June 2009
2.5 star ratingView from room was excellent. the general standard of communal areas and bathrooms was very good the hotel staff were the most rude we have ever come across. the rooms were not ready until after 3pm on day of arrival even though we had made a note of early arrival. no attempt was made to even check if it would be ready earlier. there was no option of a safe - they had no activators and nothing was done to try and resolve this. no option of a late check out was available and in a very blunt were told the hotel is full. there was absolutely no the hotel was full. the minute we left our room on the morning of departure - 8am for breakfast - our room card was de activated. it then took half an hour at reception to get this activated, which is something you dont expect or need. overall they were extremley rude and not in the slightest helpful. a small sorry is all that is needed at times and even when my partner asked for this with the safe and how it offered the service of a safe and we were having to carry our belongings round with us, they looked at us blankly and said not there problem! Due to this fact i would not recommend the hotel to friends or family which is a shame considering the location and general standard. 23 June 2009

2.5 star ratingFood Hall Excellent, good quality of food and very clean, close to beach and marina.Reception staff blew hot and cold!! Housekeeping very poor. Casino on one side of hotel and nicki beach on other side, impossible to get decent night sleep during our whole stay and with a 4 year old in our party, it was not a happy experience. Despite been moved from the casino side of the hotel to other side, we then had the pleasure of music coming from nicki beach. Not sure if any room in the hotel would escape any of the noise!28 August 2009

4.5 star ratingA qualidade do Hotel vem-se mantendo ao longo dos anos, pelo que sempre que tiver disponibilidade, nao hesitarei em regressar. Espaços agradaveis, piscina muito boa, muita diversão, simpatia dos funcionários, quartos sempre muito limpos. A comida tem muita qualidade. O hotel tem uma localização fantástica, a cerca de 1 min da praia, o que torna ainda mais cativante a sua escolha. Aconselho vivamente a escolha deste hotel.13 September 2011

4.5 star ratingLocation, fantastic. Pool area lovely, hotel was fully booked and we didn't struggle to find sunbeds. Our sea view room was a great size, balcony and view were amazing. The daily maid service was great and everything kept very clean.The reception desk was appalling. Only two computer terminals and the simplest task took FOREVER. If you speak Portuguese you can apparently just shout over people who have been waiting 30mins to be served and get your issue dealt with first. They answer phone calls while the queue is out the door and often two or three people will be standing doing nothing. On check out I gave up queuing to check out after 20mins and simply left. If I hadn't I would have missed my transfer. The breakfast selection was wide but not consistent from day to day.Lynz17 July 2013

3.5 star ratingSpeed at check in,good size room,views from the balcony,cleanliness of the room.We have stayed at this hotel before and the breakfast was good,however the baked beans were extremely salty, the bacon was cold, the fried eggs were underdone and although we were offered that they would fry them to order, the youth whose job was to do this was very truculent and gave the impression that he didn't want to be there.We did tell the waitress on the first morning but it was still the same the following day.Paul15 October 2014
