5.0 star ratingMy husband and I booked in at 09h00 on Saturday and our room wasn't ready as the latest check out time is 11h00. It was with great amazement that we received a letter of apologies and a treat from high tea to apologise for the room not being ready. We didn't expect anything nor for the room to be ready. It was most certainly a very refreshing experiencing. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful and nothing was a problem. Thanks you for making our stay very special.27 November 2012

5.0 star ratingWe were delighted with the level of service from arrival till departure - a world class hotel on our doorstep which I think many of our locals are unaware of.Bit surprised to discover that after we had paid our accommodation and booked for our curry buffet dinner that there was a cheaper package available that included all that and a treatment in the spa. Also guests should maybe be warned about monkeys which are able to get into the rooms and cause a bit of havoc.10 June 2013

5.0 star ratingThis is a wonderful hotel. Its situation, the quality and design of rooms and public areas, the range of facilities, the sheer number of staff on hand and the ambience...fantastic. What a place...and oysters for breakfast!! It is, by any standard, a 5* hotel, from the welcome, to the check-in, being shown around your room, the swimming pools, the garden, the cinema (!), the original art work, the beautiful bar and public areas...any criticism would be very minor. Staff, with only one or two exceptions, were wonderful, so pleasant, helpful, solicitous.The menus of both restaurants don't appear to change and although the quality of food is excellent, for us, as people who don't eat meat, the choice was limited. So, simply ring the changes a little and have more vegetarian options. Otherwise, the food is first class.Anonymous 20 March 2014
