5.0 star ratingGreat location in Langkawi. The service, food and drink at this hotel is excellent. By far the best run hotel in Langkawi. The beach and the surrounding area needs a bit more work doing to it inorder to match the quality of the hotel. Jamie Mac23 October 2011

4.5 star ratingStaff were very friendly and accommodating. Great location away from it all and the breakfasts can be magnificent. Very clean grounds and staff bend over backwards without looking for a handout.The pool side service was very slow at first but that improved. Had a few sensational breakfasts but then had to start sending back cold eggs etc... staff were accommodating but shouldn't have happened.24 October 2012

4.0 star ratingI must commend Mr. Hafiz Hashim (Executive Assistance Manager) and his wonderful staff for their warm services and hospitality. The facilities and cleanness were as per expectation for a 5-star hotel. Do keep it up! The buffet breakfast was however fair to good at best. The choices were varied but somehow the taste was a let-down. For example, the salmon was a bit overcooked, sambal for nasi lemak was a disappointment, and the tongs for picking up croissants were too small. It was difficult to grasp the croissants. I noticed other guests had similar difficulties too.Zarool26 September 2013

4.5 star ratingHotel building and the interior is defintely breath taking if you like vectorian style. I was shocked to know that the hotel is actually build in 2010, because i thought it must be atleast 100 years old looking at its arcitecture. I stayed in grand merchant room which had 2 balconies. The room was spacious and had a very good starndard. View from the bancoly was nothing special. Room service twice a day. Very helpfull and friendly, but at the same time professional staff. Pool area is very nice with its own beech. Skycable is just 10 min drive from the hotel. I advice to rent a car if you are visiting langkawi, and there is no need of GPS (tomtom). It is possible to rent a car from the hotel but its alot cheeper at the airport. Taxi cost 27 local currency (8 dollar) from hotel to the airport (15-20 min ride). It is 45 min ride to the city center (kuah) which has alot to offer from restaurants to shopping (thou it cant be compared to kuala lumpur). I definetely recommend the hotel, but also advice to check Westin hotel which is situated in Kuah. Breakfast and restaurants had alot to choose from but i didnt like the taste of the food, and perhaps overpriced. There are atleast 8 restaurants at a walking distance from the hotel, thou i didnt like the food their either. To be honest i was not impressed by the food in malaysia generally.
