3.0 star ratingClose to the motorpoint arena for concertsWHEN WE ARRIVED WE WERE TOLD ONLY ONE ROOM BOOKED WHEN WE KNOW WE HAD BOOKED TWO. BOOKED DINNER IN THER HOTEL AT 7 FOR 8 OF US IN THE PARTY, FOOD ORDER TAKEN THEN 25 MINUTES LATER TOLD OUR ITEM WAS NOT ON MENU ANYMORE, HAD TO REORDER. tHEN FOOD CAME LATE AND ONLY HALF A MEAL AT A TIME, STEAK FIRST THEN HAD TO WAIT 25 MINUTES FOR THE CHIPS BY WHICH TIME WE HAD EATEN THE STEAK. COMPLAINED TO STAFF, AS WE WERE LATE FOR CONCERT WE INFORMED THEM WE WOULD SORT IT OUT WITH MANAGER IN MORNING. AFTER CONCERT CAMEBACK TO BAR FOR ONE DRINK WHICH TOOK 20 MINUTES UNDER STAFFED! tHEN GOT TO OUR ROOM TO FIND THE KEY WOULD NOT WORK, THEY HAD CNACELLED THE CODE ON OUR ROOMS DUE TO THE MISHAP WITH DINNER. WE EVENTUALLY GOT OUR KEYS AFTER LITTLE ARGUMENT BUT SPOKE TO MANAGER IN MORNING. WOULD NOT BE GOING HERE AGAIN!!!12 June 2011
3.0 star ratingThe night manager was extremely helpful and booked us our cab ride back to our new hotel, thanks!Hello, I am afraid that this hotel over booked its rooms, I am sure this is policy for most hotels but maybe a bit of research could help solve the problem for future bookings. Eric Clapton was playing in the arena next door and so everyone turned up who had booked rooms. Perhaps if big names are playing next door it would be a good idea to avoid over booking on those nights as its likely that everyone will turn up. The staff did find us rooms in another hotel and paid for cabs in and out of town which was handy, but it was a bit inconvenient as we had booked that hotel as it was really close to where we needed to be.17 May 2011
4.5 star ratingExcellent value for money, would go back when in the area.Car parking poor, arrived after six so had to pay to extra to stay in nearby car park.14 December 2011
2.0 star ratingreception and bar were nicely decoratedThe downstairs public toilets did not flush. On arrival we were TWICE allocated rooms which were already occupied. The third room we were allocated was clean and had comfortable beds, however the TV socket did not work so we could not use the television and the toilet did not flush. Because of all the hassle upon arrival, we did not get to our (third) room until midnight, which meant our plans for friday night were ruined. We were swapped the next day once more to a fourth room. Although in this room the toilet and TV worked, there was no air conditioning, unlike our prior room, and the hair dryer supplied was useless. The car park is stated on your website to be FREE PARKING, upon arrival the hotel said it was £10 PER NIGHT!!! There were not enough car parking spaces and before being told I could park in the staff car park I was advised by reception to pay and park in John Lewis car park which would have cost a considerable amount more, eventually I was permitted to leave my car parked in the staff car park at the back of the hotel. The hotel did provide 4 drinks vouchers for myself and my friend tea/coffee/small wine or beer and did eventually waive the car park fee. However, these gestures do not really compensate for the inconvenience caused. (particularly as the car park was supposed to be free anyway). I have stayed at park inn hotels before and was delighted with my stays, this was a severe disappointment and I am reluctant to visit again.03 April 2012
3.0 star ratingThe staff on reception desk were not particularly helpful and check-in was very slow. On checking out we weren't even asked if we enjoyed our stay/if our room was ok/have a pleasant journey etc. 22 May 2012
