4.5 star ratingwell decorated, clean, hotel with excellent staff. central location superbroom was a little small for the quality of the hotel room 34403 February 2009
4.5 star ratingYje hotel was beautiful and convinient for shopping because it was right in the centre.A great place to stay if it's raining. It was also quiet at night in our room.Breakfast had healthy choice options and fresh bread as well as toast.31 January 2009
3.5 star ratingThe first room we were given turned out to have no heating functioning. On complaint, the hotel attempted to solve the problem, but failed. They gave us another room, of much higher standard, for no added cost, and did so very nicely. It is placed too close to late-night places of entertainment, which are very noisy up to 3am. possibly because of planning restrictions (the building is listed), ther were unable to upgrade their windows in a recent re-furbishment. A significant proportion of rooms are therefore far from quiet. This is the major problem with the hotel, and it is hard to see a solution. A more bizarre problem occurs in those rooms sited over a shop selling bath soap below: the smell of perfume infiltrating the rooms can be overpowering, even when the windows are closed. Jumbo, from Scotland.13 February 2009
4.0 star ratingIn the room (316) the phones didn't work and throughout the night every hour what sounded like an air vent being turned on loudly for 5- 6 seconds ensured a poor night's sleep. 13 March 2009
5.0 star ratingRecently renovated to a very high standard the Parc Hotel is just wonderful. Staff were very pleasant and professional even when dealing with people who turned up to find the hotel was full. Apparently some web sites were still selling rooms! Right in the centre of town too. Definitely recommended.Robin03 March 2009
5.0 star ratingGreat location, Friendly staff, Clean & tidy overall a great stay19 June 2009
3.5 star ratingStaff mostly pleasant but service often poor - waited half hour for drinks once & gave up another time. 2 cold breakfasts - offer of replacement came too late. Ate in on first night - 1 meal OK, but 1 with tough meat (not charged after complaint). Went here as we knew we might need to eat quite late on two occasions - the waiter was not aware that the cards freely available in the hotel showed that food was available to residents after 11pm It took some time to persuade him that we could have a sandwich as 'the chef had left'. We had a disturbed night because of work (hammering, sawing, drilling etc) being carried out in a resaurant in the corner of the building. When I complained, the desk clerk knew that the resaurant had informed the hotel and said that no-one should have been in our corridor, but she thought it was only for 1 night. I checked with the restaurant & they said the work would continue (& they gave us a complimentary course, which is more than the hotel did). On returning to the hotel I was told very coldly that there was no other room available but after I persisted the duty manager was called & found us another room and a member of staff helped us to move our luggage; the second room was not as pleasant as the first, but it was quieter.EF19 June 2009

4.0 star ratingThe staff were very pleasant and keen to help. The facilities in general were very nice. The bathroom was a bit small and needed a bit of a make-over as it looked a bit worn in places. Drinks were a little bit pricey but this is probably expected for a hotel in the town centre. 01 September 2009
3.5 star ratingVery clean with modern but pleasant decor. Staff very pleasant.Quite a delay in service at dinner - even though very few people in dining room.18 October 2009

4.5 star ratingGreat location just of the main shopping street. Very close to good bars and night-clubs too.Floorboards creaked a lot - but then again it is an old hotel (even though it has been modernised).Flashy02 January 2012

3.5 star ratingGreat location. Great staff. This hotel used to be superb in every but the rooms are now starting to look shabby, old and overused. It's falling a long behind much cheaper hotels and really needs to up its game. Furniture was falling apart. Lighting - almost half wasn't even working. Doesn't housekeeping ever check this? Breakfast is not very good, but then it never was much to,shout about!24 December 2012
4.0 star ratingVery nice hotel and friendly staff.04 September 2013
3.5 star ratingNice hotel in a good location. There was something wrong with the floorboards. They were incredibly loud so when the people would walk in the room above me, it actually woke me up. I could even hear it through my earplugs. I was also disappointed to not have a bathtub. They also did not follow their own towel policy where you don't wash them if hung up. I find this annoying as they claim to do their part for the environment but they don't really...12 November 2013

4.0 star ratingGreat price and location, staff very helpful and a fine breakfast. Car park was very tight and not well paved. It also seemed a bit expensive although I was glad to have it. Room a little tired but ok.DFTraveller23 October 2016
