2.0 star ratingrooms very dated despite advertising £4m refurb. No aircon in hotel and radiators you can not turn off. £5 charge every time you use room service. they debit your card with room charge when checking in if you wish to open an account and then charge you when checking out so have to wait for first charge to be refunded09 July 2013

4.5 star ratingEverything, apart from below.Left my mobile phone on bed. Housekeeping apparently did not check the bed prior to stripping it, and my phone is now lost. The hotel said they would call the laundry company, and get back to me. No response.30 July 2013
4.5 star ratingLovely character to rooms, great sea view and excellent value. Excellent location. Leisure club and parking facilities a welcome bonus.Breakfast was organised but there were frenetic amounts of activity from the waiting staff that made it difficult to relax and eat calmly.Waiters were running up and down the aisles collecting plates, and with hot pots of liquid too. Waiters were walking so fast to replenish food stocks that I witnessed 3 guests getting bumped into by accident but quite forcibly. and frequent spillages of juice from the waiters around the cereal section. My father is disabled and he was told the breakfast room could not accomodate his mobility scooter so he would have to transfer to a chair at breakfast. My father is paralysed in his lower body and could not possibly do this. He was offended to be told at breakfast time that he could not be accomodated and it was apparent that the breakfast greeter was not aware of disablility issues. The breakfast room needs to be less tightly packed with tables/chairs and more provision pf space made for guests who are disabled and in a wheelchair or mobility scooter. Also at breakfast I asked for vegetarian sausages which I had to wait 20 minutes for - my father had to wait the same length of time for porridge too. Would it not be better to have an urn of porridge for self service and to have a small amount of vegetarian sausages on the hot plate that are replenished when low.08 August 2013

4.0 star ratingStaff were friendly. Right on the sea front so great view. Tram stop right outside. Buffet breakfast had lots of different choices. Parking available at hotel for £3.50 per day. Reception and restaurant looks lovely. Have freeview tv in rooms.Scaffolding on the front of the hotel was pushed up against the one little window our room had so we could not open it. As a result evening times (in middle of heat wave) became a bit unbearable. There was no aircon. We paid for bed and breakfast for family but was not made aware our child was not covered by that until checking out where we were charged additional. You could not adjust temperature of shower. Not many reception staff so had to wait a long time queuing to check in and out.Anonymous 25 July 2014
5.0 star ratingI found the hotel clean. The staff was all very helpfully and friendly. We only had breakfast in the hotel. There was a good range of food. It was always hot Some parts of the hotel could do with a paint job. But Otherwise it was lovely Anonymous 11 August 2014
4.5 star ratingThe staff were very attentive. When we arrived, with dog in tow, Martin, one of the team, brought a bucket of iced water to the room and a fan to help keep the dog cool. The room was very warm with no way to turn down the heating. Also, the decor and furnishings in the hotel are a bit jaded and utilitarian for a hotel of this reputation.Anonymous 19 June 2016
