5.0 star ratingThis hotel is in a great location, the shops, bars and restaurants are within walking distance. The hotel is decorated in a stylish art deco style and the whole building is impressive both inside and out. The rooms are very spacious and our room had a large balcony which overlooked the square. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone planning a trip to ReykjavikAnonymous 11 February 2014
2.5 star ratingVery nice building and nice roomsIt was quite noisey at 3 AM as it faces The English Pub when people were getting out.The check inn staff tried to charge me twice for the room even though I showed him my voucher. His comment was ''that is very confusing for everybody''.You will pay when you leave.10 minutes later I won my argument with another staff member who agrred that I had paidbut had no appology from the one whomade the mistake. He just said 'we all make mistakes'.On 2nd day,my wife wanted a soft boiled egg.A simple request was refused. The bath tub was not clearing the water as wewere having our showers.Light bulbs were not working and the day of departure at 6AM we had a very poor take away breakfast which would not have cost them 3-4 euros but of course we were charged 18 euros for it.It was very expensive for what it offeredwith a poor attitude from the staff.I will never use that hotel ever again even though I have never been dissapointed with anything I have booked before with Hotel Opeia.Anonymous 03 September 2014
