Leisure facilities 2 Swimming pools 1 main outdoor pool which is free usage and 1 private infinity pool located at LaVilla Poolclub b & Restaurant which is chargeable. An indoor swimming pool is on offer to women. Sports enthusiasts may play tennis or pay a visit to the in-house gym. Guests can enjoy the 24 hour Lagenda Restaurant or the Mario's Italian Restaurant for dining. They can also take advantage of the Bars in the hotel's area.

4.0 star ratingVery friendly staff, nice pool, very good gym and a fantastic beach with free deck chairs. Food was not good and it was too expensive. Therefore don’t go for “all inclusive”. There are a number of nice places on the beach where you can have lunch (e.g. Frangipani). For breakfast I recommend Cactus 50 meters from the hotel and for dinner you have a number of nice places near to the hotel.Hall in Alingsas22 January 2011

2.0 star ratingThe hotel is well priced compared with many others on Langkawi and we found the room cleaning staff really efficient but that is really where the positives end. The pool is large, but everything badly needs renovated - rooms and pool area are old and tired. (There is a new pool being built at the moment which is a positive, it's nice to see that they are injecting some money into maintenance projects, however until it is finished there is no beach view, just some blue tarp to hide the building work and bear in mind you can hear the building work while swimming/ sunbathing) In hindsight, we would have been much better off to choose a more expensive hotel which had a good standard of service, rooms etc and probably would not have been much worse off financially, when you take into account that Holiday Villa charges extra for just about everything they can: no free water in rooms, pay for wifi, pay for tea and coffee sachets in the rooms, very expensive breakfast etc etc.... The staff at reception are disinterested and unhelpful. We left a bag at the Langkawi ferry terminal and ended up hiring a car and driving to the ferry to enquire in person whether the bag had been handed in (it had and we got it back safe and sound) however the hotel staff couldn't have given us much less assistance in trying to locate our lost luggage. In the middle of changing currency one of the reception staff quoted the exchange rate (which was incorrect) then simply walked away, mid conversation, out of the hotel door and off up the driveway on a break with another colleague, no explanation, did not hand over to another staff member - just disappeared half through dealing with a guest! We booked a deluxe room, the original room we were given was on the ground floor, it was dark, depressing and badly in need of a refit. The whole place has the air of a resort which was quite nice 20 years ago, but somewhere along the lines they stopped caring, maintaining, servicing and helping..... what a shame.22 June 2013

4.0 star ratingGreat location on the beach, nice gardens, construction of new infinity pool almost completed, close to restaurants.One of the reasons we chose this hotel was because it offered Kids Club as we were travelling with family including 5 young grandchildren. Our understanding of Kids Club is that staff entertain children whilst parents take advantage of other hotel activities, i.e. spa, tennis, etc. However, at this hotel, Kids Club means that parents accompany their children to a room and supervise them playing on such equipment.as might be found in a small playground. Very disappointing! Three other minor dissatisfactions - they charge a fee for ice, they charge for daily newspapers and they do not provide umbrellas for the occasional heavy rainfall.09 October 2013
