This resort is ideally located on Pantai Tengah, one of the Langkawi's finest beaches. The Tama Alam Batik Art Village and the Craft Culture Complex are all in the area. This beach hotel comprises a total of 88 well-appointed guest rooms with modern amenities. Hotel's facilities include a reception, a hotel safe and a currency exchange. There is a restaurant offering delicious Malay, Chinese, International and seafood specialties. All accommodation units come with en suite bathroom, a direct dial telephone and a TV. Further room amenities include a fridge and individually controllable air-conditioning. Various recreational facilities are available including tennis courts, a children's playground and a gym.

4.5 star ratingWe have stayed at the Federal on many occasions and have always been completely satisfied although it has to be recogniserd that this is the "Poor" partner with Holiday Villa being the leading player.The staff are excellent,being well led and motivated by the italian Mr Pellegrini.The rooms in the Federal are dark and do not have running hot water although there is a hot shower.In the past both the Holiday Villa and the Federal have been excellent value but this is now changing with year on year increases making them less competitive than similar hotels in Malaysia and certainly more expesive than Bali or phuketbertrut17 November 2009
4.0 star ratingWe have stayed at the Federal Villa on many occasions and have always returned..Whilst the buildings are now dated continuous efforts are made to improve and this is helped by a staff that generally speaking is second to none.This resort provides excellent value for money.Visitors should not expect modern up to date facilities at this resort-if they do they will be sorely disappointed Staff at reception is changed so frequently that they do not have sufficient time or training to be effective members of the team . This was very obvious this year when several of the "New" staff showed their inexperience.bertrut22 October 2012

4.0 star ratingGood value for money. Spacious room with good sanitary facilities. Friendly staffFull of families with noisy kids (as is the whole Klong Dao area for that matter). Infant-aged children swimming in main pool withous swimming diapers, which is a considerable hygiene risk. Pool looked very dirty Chris23 January 2014
