5.0 star rating	The staff were very friendly	Took a long time to answer phone when ringing for return journey on shuttle service. That said, when we did get through, the man was so nice answering the phone, I couldn't bring myself to complain! 'Jazz' music playing in the smoking area outside the hotel. (Personal hatred of that type of music!) Functions were taking place both nights we were there which were quite loud until late. 5.0 star rating	We all found this hotel fantastic. The room had everything we could want, staff were very helpful and pleasant and the food,-particularly the breakfast, was beautiful! i would definately reccommend this hotel and would stay there again myself!	Have nothing negative to say as such, but we booked to go on the free shuttle but when we tried to get on it was full, we told the staff behind the desk and they immediately booked us a taxi and paid it for us, no problem!	missvics	22 February 2011
3.5 star rating	Convenient to airport and with courtesy bus (which you must book in advance!).	I guess you get what you pay for. While room was clean, the furniture (chairs) were stained and tatty. Room was on ground floor and noise from nearby road and airport could be heard. It would appear that room on this floor are used by those who pay a smaller tariff.	kano	06 February 2011
4.0 star rating	Professional and polite staff.	The shuttle bus runs every half hour during the busy spell (early evening). It can get overbooked, so we ended up paying for a taxi (twice) to go to and from the train station/LG Arena (not cheap at Â£8 each time) to avoid missing the start of our concert. If you want the shuttle bus to the airport there is a Â£1 charge. This is because everyone has to pay this to access the parking area. Internet access (broadband) also expensive at Â£5 an hour or Â£15 for 24 hours. No WIFI. There is a cable in the room to connect up to your laptop.	Pam	29 March 2011

3.0 star rating	On check in they questioned our booking, although the member of staff was polite. Room was clean with double bed. Room booked twin beds with breakfast. Pool basic but kept very clean.	No parking spaces had to wait ages for a free space, fee for parking very high, ordered newspaper never arrived. Knock at bedroom door 9am asking us if the room was empty, knock again 15 mins later. Arrived downstairs for breakfast, dining room full and very long cue. We were asked to wait in the lounge, we waited and waited for almost 2 hours, complained at the desk and asked for a refund as we couldnt wait any longer for breakfast. No refund given, staff were not helpful. We ended up going eleswhere for our breakfast with additional cost occured Â£22.50 and a delay with our journey.		16 October 2012

5.0 star rating	Despite being fully booked and coping with a wedding reception at the same time the staff coped very well. Check in was speedy and efficient, the room was very well maintained and clean. Our room seemed to have been recently refurbished. Breakfast choice was good. The hotel shuttle bus service was very efficient. We would stay here again. It was very good value. It is well placed for the airport at Birmingham. 4.5 star rating	The Hotel was very clean, the staff were very polite and helpful. It had everything you would need for a few nights stay. Ideal location for the airport if you were needing a stop over before a flight with a free shuttle bus to the airport or station. very close to the NEC. Would well recomend this hotel.	The only thing I could say here is there is no wifi in the rooms< but you can get free wifi in the lobby and bar area. otherwise there is nothing negative to say about this hotel. 3.0 star rating	Rooms clean and adequate. Facilities good.Excellent breakfast Problems with rooms at check in but swiftly sorted out by Reception Staff..	Misinformation re need to reserve table for evening meal. When finally seated the service was exceptionally slow and long wait between courses. Meal was poor, child's burger burnt and not pallitable. Pasta dish bland.Head waiter asked if satisfied and when faults pointed out he disappeared into the kitchen and made himself scarce for the rest of our period in the dining room. We experienced a rude barman, drinks are very expensive at the bar and I discovered a piece of blue plastic in my burger and didn't receive an adequate apology. 4.0 star rating		Hi Everybody, We were booked into the Holiday Inn and upon arrival I was informed that the hotel was over booked. The staff member informed me that we were booked into the travel lodge next door. We were very disappointed. The travel lodge could not offer us the same standards/facilities as the hotel.We paid for hotel standards but did not receive them. I checked my email when I returned to Ireland and there was no contact from the Holiday Inn explaining why we should be the guests asked to transfer to a lesser facility for 2 nights. We will not be recommending the Holiday Inn to any of our friends . We have been to Birmingham before and will be again but we will not book into your hotel. A very angry guest		21 November 2012

While there is only free wi-fi available in the lobby area, this area is comfortable and spacious so it is not an inconvenience. 4.0 star rating	Great location for over night stay near the airport. Room air con was welcome relief :-) room and bathroom clean and swimming pool Jacuzzi and steam room fantastic... got a great deal with hotelopia for Â£44 for family room which was superb	Apart from a young chap with a midlands accent and a very cheery young cleaner... the other staff really let this place down. Check in receptionist was and didn't smile once... suited lady obviously I n charge of breakfast running in the restaurant was too and to be honest I'm glad I didn't need tp ask anything else I would have been scared to ask her.... the young waitress looked terrified of her. Cleaner who was sent up to our room to set up sofa bed was in a foul mood and virtually told me I could have done it myself as its already made up if I pull it out (another thing I wasn't really pleased about) surely they should be made up as and when the room requires?	suffolkgal	27 July 2013
5.0 star rating	Stayed overnight before early morning flight from Birmingham airport. Room was very clean and quiet and excellent value for money compared to other similiar hotels in the area. Taxi to airport cost just under Â£7. Food in the hotel was not cheap but was excellent quality.	No other places to eat/drink within walking distance.		09 September 2013

3.5 star rating	great location for visiting NEC. Hotel has good facilities including indoor pool. We had an executive room which had a large double bed, sofa, flat screen TV and modern bathroom with plenty of space in the room itself. ( We paid an extra Â£15 at check in to upgrade which was well worth it). Friendly staff at the hotel. Good choice at breakfast.	Only 1 person on reception so had to wait quite a while to check in. 4.0 star rating	Despite some of the poor reviews we booked for two nights in Oct to visit the nearby NEC. Our room (336) was clean and more than adequate for the price we payed (Room only Â£88:00). Staff were pleasant and helpful and our evening meal in the restaurant was lovely although a little overpriced.	The corridors leading up to our room were a bit 'Tatty' and require redecorating. Pool steam room and jacuzzi lovely	We had an incessant noise in our room, housekeeping came to check it out and consequently stunk our room out with the cig she must have just enjoyed! 		Despite two abortive attempts to check in earlier in the day as we knew we would be late arriving, we we finally told at 10pm that we had been overbooked. The hotel receptionist ( very stressed but polite ) informed us we were now booked in at the Hilton NEC where we spent an awful night subjected to an appallingly loud disco until 2 am.		03 December 2013
1.5 star rating	None	To be honest, the ratings are a little vague due to the fact that upon check in at the holiday inn Birmingham airport, we were told that they had no rooms available and had overbooked a number of rooms (our booking was 4 months prior to visit). We had no option other than to transfer to the Coventry de vere at the Ricoh arena. All in all a very poor experience at the hands of the holiday inn, and one which I will not allow to happen again. 4.0 star rating	Overall very good stay. Good location and close to motorway and easy access to Birmingham city centre.	Car parking space not enough if there is any function. Has been ask to park at NCP nearby, which is inconvience. Also, some of the hotel reception staff need training. Its called the airport hotel but it will cost you 10 pound to get there by taxi I tried to walk but you cannot cross the motorway on foot this hotel is located at the wrong side of airport in relation to the terminal building. don't believe the b/s about a shuttle from the train station it wont be there? the restaurant was completely understaffed it took 1 hour 22 min to get a chicken burger and a pint of beer. the room was fine except it was underneath the function room which had a party till 2.30 am the music was so loud I had no sleep at all ***** this hotel is a total washout****** my advice" run a mile" *********	Bob	03 December 2013

5.0 star rating	The staff at this hotel are really great, probably one of the best things about the hotel. They are good humored and very helpful. The food is expensive but very very good.	The breakfast was not good and very over priced at Â£17.95. The free shuttle bus to the airport was also a bit of a disaster. We waited over half an hour. The manager was not very helpful pointing out it was a free service but it was advertised as being available and one of the reasons we had booked this hotel.		22 November 2013
5.0 star rating	Couldn't fault the facilities and comfort in both the room and public areas. The gym was great and so was breakfast. The courtesy bus and driver to and from the train station at the NEC was fantastic, the girls on reception were very friendly and helpful and the cleaner was very efficient too.
