3.0 star ratingI stayed here with a friend for one night to shop and visit the City of Vancouver after ski-ing in Whistler. They have a free shuttle service to and from the airport which made life easier. Both shuttle bus driver's we had were very friendly and chatty. The receptionist was friendly and although we arrived 4 hours before the check-in time of 4pm she said she would get our room ready in 2 hours and allowed us to put our luggage in an unsecured area around the back of the reception which was safe enough for us so we could go off instead of waiting 2 hours in that small, tatty reception area. When we came back a different, less friendly, stern receptionist checked us in and we went to our room, which I was not looking forwards to because of the poor state of the reception area but I was pleasantly surprised as although basic, it was clean, large and more looked after. There was a safe, iron and coffee facilities. The TV had an OK range of channels although all my favorite ones seemed to be not subscribed to. The bathroom had a powerful shower in a bath with available toiletries and clean but wearing out towels. Our view was of the other hotel next door. Breakfast was included and consisted of 3 choices of cereal, 1 choice of tea/coffee, orange or apple juice, fresh and tinned fruit, bagel or bread, omelette-type egg and best of all waffles with available maple syrup and jam. The Hotel's location was excellent as 5-10 mins walk to bus depot and skytrain (Bridgeport) which took 5 mins to go to Templeton for the Designer Outlet Shopping centre which was very well worth the visit and 15 mins in the opposite direction to reach the City of Vancouver to visit the Pacific Shopping centre which again was well worth the visit. Also in 5-10 mins walk in the opposite direct from the hotel is Burger King, Subway, a Liquor shop and a large supermarket Overall it was definitely a budget hotel and only good for a simple place to rest your head overnight. I would consider other choices before I stay there again although it's great location may bring me back.On entering the hotel which is situated in a derelict area of town next to another hotel, the reception looks rundown and in some serious need of refurbishment as had a tatty-looking settee that I was scared to sit onCynth29 March 2017
