3.0 star ratingThe resort is close to the beautiful beach. The swimmingpool is nice and big at arena blanca. In the snack at the pool you can choose your snack, but its ok. We didnt liked the additude of most of the people who work there, only some are friendly. The noisy drunk people during the nights in and outside the hotel is very loud and wake you while youre sleeping. In the brochure stands that you can book the a la carte restaurants, but they are full booked the whole week, so you can book 1 if youre lucky. Not all the a la carte restaurants are open.Mar30 June 2012

3.5 star ratingNice. Very nice man in the reception (gray hair), very helpful. Also the place where we booked our viazul bus one night in Havanna, that guy was very kind. Lots of entertaiment and good feeling, nice food, nice chefs!!Ladies in the reception (all of them) were very rude. Better to handle with guys in reception.ninza16 November 2012
4.5 star ratingContrary to most of rewiews stating that all Cuban hotels offer bad food and bad staff attitude I was much suprised to get very good of both.V.S.10 December 2012
2.5 star ratingNice and friendly english speaking people in the reception.Terrible food, both the buffet and the ala carte restaurants, we had dinner at the Spanish restaurant, it was a completely joke. I will NEVER stay at a "all inclusive" hotell ever again in Cuba, on our trip we travel around the whole island. Avoid All inclusive and find private restaurants instead, thats my tip for you. The drinks in this hotel was also very bad, they make the drinks taste bad so you will not manage tro drink so many of them i think.Tom16 February 2013
3.5 star ratingGood entertainement on the eveningsThe quality of the food was not very good. I was food poisened during two days. I had expected more live music and better cuban music at the hotel. Too much merenge Jesse James16 January 2013
4.5 star ratingvery nice in general, the hotel is very nice, just a few things (from the professional point, as i work in the hotel as well) that could make your hotel the best: - room cleaning should be better. when i arrived the floor was not cleaned at all (plastic and hair from previous stay) in the room and bathroom, dirty towels, no guest book -housekeeping lady do not change towels and toilet paper if you do not give her at least 1 CUC (we made an experimrnt 1 day we did not give any money- nothing was changed and room was cleaned poorely. the next day we gave 1 CUC, towels were changed and we even had 1 towel for foot) - room maintenance should be done on teh frequently basis- in room 5344 were no pictures (om the wall) while in room 5434 were two similar pictures...in room 5434 the lamp above the sink were leaking for several days and may have caused in electricity break. we have told about it to reseption but nothing was improved. - pillows are not comfortable at all. we requested to change them twice, but it was unsuccessful. receptoion staff tells that it is another department - housekeeping, and it is not their problem.... - chairs in the beach are very uncomfortable and of bad quality (a lot of broken beach chairs) - beach is not cleaned- a lot of sigarets, garbage and used glasses Nadya17 January 2013
3.0 star ratingOur room was very nice and cleanliness was excellent. The staff were mostly very helpful. The quality of food and drink was well below par, given the price we were paying for two nights all inclusive. All the food was tasteless and the drinks were predominantly just sugar. By comparison with the other places we stayed it was well below average.12 February 2013

5.0 star ratingThe room was very spacious. The buffet were enormous and delicious. The landscape view from the room was fenomenal... It was a tremendous all included. The border of the bathroom mirror was deteriorated. The electrical bulbs's wattage was very poor, we cannot read at night. At dining room, below the spaghetti's warmer there were some dead cockroaches.renezito04 June 2013
Roberto05 August 2013
4.0 star ratingGood facilites, lovely pools, good location not far from town. adjacent to great beach, good range of food available rooms at Arenas Blancas spacious had three large beds but probabaly ready for refurbishment, think Solymar might be better. They try to charge 25CUC for missing pool towels ! JAC2414 August 2013
3.5 star ratingThe attention of some people of the staff, specially Delmys of the miniclub, which is all love for the children and very profesinal and Liset from the buffet restaurant Arenas blancas, with a very good attention for the clients. The food is very good, with a variety of options. The beach is one of the best in the world. The bathroom of the room is not clan enought, and the maintenance at arenas blancas is bad. The specially restaurants are very bad and must be changed or close. The professionality of the people at the buffet restaurant solymar are very bad, and many of them are only looking for the tips of the tourist. (the salaries of this people is very low). Barcelo should spend time in the education of his staff. The spanish manager is always running in the restaurant and the rest of the staff are standing like statues. It was necesary to make long lines during a long timr to enter to the buffet restaurants. Alejandro J. Abril31 August 2013
2.5 star ratingDidn't get the room i reserved. I booked for the bungalow room but give a hotel room instead. They said there's no available room available. I boked two rooms and the air-con and refrigerator were not working on the other room given. We complain so many times but nobody fixed them. They said they will move us if there's an available bungalow room. I should have a refund for not having the room i paid for. Will never go back to that hotel again 23 August 2013
2.5 star ratingBuena playa y buen ambiente.
2.5 star ratingVery nice and tranquil beachMost unfriendly staff I've ever experienced, to the point of surprise on almost a dozen occasions. They are very friendly to other Cubans however and not all of them were unfriendly, Kareina, at the front desk, was very helpful, everyone else however seemed to be stoned and extremely disinterested, they never said thank you or even handed requested documentantation/change etc to me in person, they just put it on the desk and walked off, leaving us feel like we did something wrong each time, we always spoke Spanish to them and were very mannerly so there was no problem from our side. If you're European/Canadian expect to be treated like dirt at the front desk. I would suggest Almeria Americas instead, we also stayed there for a week and it was far friendlier, and better all round. Colm28 August 2013
4.0 star ratingGreat location, situated on the beach, big enough resort to have quiet and lively areas. Friendly and helpful staff. Good variety of bars and restaurants (Spanish a la carte was excellent). Clean rooms, mini bar replenished every day. Lots of activities at the beach included.Entertainment hit and miss. Never sure where activities were taking place. Evening show was in either Solymar or Arena Blancas never knew which one it would be at. Advertised at one but took place at the other.12 September 2013
3.0 star ratingThe beach area is really beautiful. The food is pretty bad, the restaurant looks more like a factory's canteen than a resort's eatery and the room looked very run down.05 September 2013
Joey22 November 2013
2.5 star ratingHotel is located within walking distance to bars, small shopping booths, etc. The beach is nice, although not usable due to Portuguese man o' war's present - and there is no warning of them anywhere. Bungalows are huge, although they really need some urgent refurbishing. The beach is nice, although not usable due to Portuguese man o' war's present - and there is no warning of them anywhere, so we just used the pool. Rooms need urgent improvement. Food is plenty, but poorly cooked. Matt28 November 2016
3.0 star ratingThe beach was nice. The rooms were clean. We booked a superior bungalow in November 2016.On arrival we were checked-in to a standard room in the hotel. When we questioned this we were told that they had run out of superior bungalows. We went to the room, which overlooked a building site. We were then switched to another room for the night until a superior bungalow became available the following day. The attitude of the staff was that it wasn't their fault, which was very annoying. We were not alone with this situation. The pool was closed due to some treatment it was receiving and yet 2-hours later people were being allowed to swim in it! The fire exits were rusty and some elements were missing. The hair dryer lead was repaired using insulating tape, which would no be acceptable in the UK.Anonymous 09 August 2017
