5.0 star ratingI had a fabulous stay at the Alexander. The service was very warm and welcoming. The staff were all very helpful and the room was very clean and confortable. The Hotel is situated in a beautiful, quiet tree-lined avenue, but a walking distance from the excitement of Amsterdam. One thing I would have liked was a tea or coffee service within the bedroom. I know it was quite easy to call room service, but my parents prefer to have a cup of tea at odd times, especialy late at night and did not want to trouble the staff. A kettle, cups and tea/coffee in the room would have made it perfect. 24 December 2008
4.0 star ratingHotel was efficient, in a good area, close to many eating places and the staff friendly and helpful with the check in and out procedurethe spare pillow in our room had dry blood on it from a prev occupant, this had not been picked up by the cleaners13 January 2009

4.0 star ratingWarm welcome on arrival. Clean & comfortable rooms;good shower; plenty of breakfast - yoghurts, fruit, cereals, toast, cold meats, cheese and so on. We would stay here again.The breakfast area was not very big and everyone seemed to be trying to have breakfast at the same time. Because it was a self-service buffet, people were constantly up and down from their tables - very unrelaxing!18 March 2009
